McCreery Returning to Perform on “American Idol”

The 22-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer and former AI champion will return to Fox’s reality singing competition to perform with one of this season’s contestants.

On this Wednesday’s show (Feb. 10) MacKenzie Bourg, Emily Brooke, Gianna Isabella, James VIII, Jeneve Rose Mitchell, Stephany Negrete, Jenna Renae, La’Porsha Renae, Jordan Sasser, Thomas Stringfellow, Sonika Vaid and Avalon Young will each get a chance to perform solo.

The next night (Feb. 11), the semi-finalists will have the opportunity to duet with McCreery, Fantasia Barrino, Ruben Studdard, Caleb Johnson, Lauren Alaina, and Nick Fradiani . Each Idol will duet with 12 semi-finalists, seven of which will move forward to the next round, according to a Fox release.

The Feb. 17 show will feature Jenn Blosil, Amelia Eisenhauer, Trent Harmon, Lee Jean, CJ Johnson, Adam Lasher, Tristan McIntosh, Dalton Rapattoni, Olivia Rox, Manny Torres, Kory Wheeler and Shelbie Z.

The next night they will get their chance to duet with alums Constantine Maroulis, Haley Reinhart, Chris Daughtry, Kellie Pickler, Jordin Sparks and David Cook. The judges will then announce which contestants are moving forward and who is going home.

The following week (Feb. 24), the judges will reveal which eight singers are definitely moving forward to the top 10, leaving six remaining vocalists to compete for America’s vote.  The show will go live the next night (Feb. 25), when host Ryan Seacrest announces the results and which two singers will complete the top 10. As a bonus that evening, Kelly Clarkson will return to the show to perform and serve as a guest judge.

Beginning Feb. 24, public voting will be live at AmericanIdol.com, on the FOX NOW app, via Google Search, via text messaging and by toll-free calling when the Idol vote window opens.

Pentatonix to Perform on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest”

The 23-year-old half-Mexican, part Spanish-American singer and her fellow Pentatonix members have been added to the list of performers for this year’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest in Times Square, New York City.

It will be Pentatonix’s first appearance on the annual holiday extravaganza.

In addition to Pentatonix, the list of recently added performers includes Nick Jonas, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and Joe Jonas-fronted DNCE.

Additionally, Alessia Cara, OMI and Nathan Sykes will join the fun of the New Year festivities.

In Los Angeles, there will be the West Coast celebration hosted by Fergie and will feature the last performance from One Direction before their indefinite hiatus.

Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve will broadcast live at 8 p.m. EST on Thursday, December 31 on ABC.

Lovato, who wowed audiences at this year’s American Music Awards during her duet with Alanis Morissette, joins a roster that includes Luke Bryan, Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth.

Carrie Underwood is set to headline the iconic ABC telecast in Times Square.

Radio personality Ryan Seacrest will be attending to the live coverage from Times Square in New York City while Fergie will be the party-giver from the Billboard Hollywood Party in Los Angeles. The One Direction boys have been confirmed to headline the party there.

Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve will begin broadcast at 8:00 pm EST on Thursday, December 31 on ABC.

Fergie to Co-Host ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” Program

The 40-year-old part-Mexican American singer and Black Eyed Peas member will return to host the Billboard Hollywood Party during this year’s ABC telecast of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2016.

The bi-coastal celebration will include hours of special performances and reports on New Year’s celebrations from around the globe, and Ryan Seacrest will lead the traditional countdown to midnight from Times Square in New York City as he has for the last 10 years.

In addition to Fergie’s West Coast hosting duties, the television event will include a headlining performance by Carrier Underwood and live reports in Times Square from Jenny McCarthy.

Fergie is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on her highly anticipated sophomore album scheduled for release early next year.

The new album is the follow up to her to her 2006 solo album The Dutchess, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200 and spent 94 weeks on the chart. The album went on to sell 6.2 million copies and 28.5 million tracks worldwide and spawned three No. 1 hits on the Hot 100: “London Bridge,” “Glamorous,” and “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” as well as the Top 5 singles “Fergalicious” and “Clumsy.”

Since The Dutchess’ release, Fergie has also released two monster multi-Platinum albums, The E.N.D. and The Beginning, with The Black Eyed Peas– with whom she has sold 31 million albums and 58 million singles worldwide.

The Black Eyed Peas’ videos have been viewed over 2 billion times on their YouTube channel.

Last year, Fergie released the single, “L.A.Love (la la)”which went on to sell nearly 2 million copies worldwide. In 2013, Fergie released  the platinum selling song “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody,” which appeared on the platinum soundtrack to the 2013 film The Great Gatsby.

America’s biggest celebration of the year will take place live from Times Square on Thursday, December 31 beginning at 8:00 pm on ABC.

Lopez’s Police Drama “Shades of Blue” to Premiere in January on NBC

NBC has announced the premiere date for Shades of Blue, starring the 46-year-old Puerto Rican singer, actress and American Idol judge.

The straight-to-series police drama, which also stars Ray Liotta, will debut on Thursday, January 14 at 9:00 pm with a two-hour premiere episode directed by Barry Levinson.

The show will then move to its regular 10:00 pm timeslot behind The Blacklist the following Thursday, January 21.

There, Shades Of Blue will succeed new fall drama The Player.

“From a marketing perspective, the January 14 date takes advantage of both solid Sunday Night Football games and strong holiday programming through the first week of January,” is how NBC’s head of scheduling Jeff Bader explains the rationale behind the premiere date choice. “Also, in one of the most-watched weekends of the year (January 9-10), we have the NFL Wild Card game and Golden Globes, both of which make for great promotional opportunities.”

Shades of Blue 

Shades Of Blue centers on Harlee Santos (Lopez), a charismatic single mother and resourceful detective at the heart of a tight-knit crew of Brooklyn detectives, led by enigmatic Lt. Matt Wozniak (Liotta) who often leads the team to step outside the limitations of the law in order to effectively protect their precinct and their own. As a big illegal job looms on the horizon, the FBI catches Harlee in the act and pits her against her own unit. As a newly turned informant, Harlee struggles to safeguard her on-the-job family and avoid arrest in order to stay with her daughter.

The series co-stars Warren Kole, Drea de Matteo, Dayo Okeniyi, Vincent Laresca, Hampton Fluker and Sarah Jeffery.

It is executive produced by Jack Orman, Adi Hasak, Lopez, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, Benny Medina, Ryan Seacrest and Nina Wass.

Bailon to Co-Host Fox’s Summer Reality Series “Knock Knock Live”

It looks like Adrienne Bailon is ready for a knock off….

The 31-year-old Puerto Rican and Ecuadorian American singer, actress, dancer and television personality will serve as one of the five co-hosts on Fox’s summer reality series Knock Knock Live.

Bailon, a former star The Cheetah Girls member and current co-host of Fox’s talk show The Real, will be joined by American Idol alum Kellie Pickler, TV host Ross Mathews and radio personalities Jordan “Shorty” Johnson and Chuey Martinez.

Bailon and the gang will travel the country rapping on people’s front doors and giving them a chance to win prizes and meet celebrities.

The network also announced that celebrities set for the Ryan Seacrest-hosted show include Common, David Beckham, Luke Bryan, Mike Holmes, Lea Michele, Meghan Trainor and country duo Florida Georgia Line.

Knock Knock Live is set to premiere on July 21 at 9:00 pm on Fox.

Lopez Returning as Judge on “American Idol” for Season 14

Fox has confirmed that the 44-year-old Puerto Rican singer and actress will return to the judges’ table on American Idol next season.

Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr. will return as judges, with Ryan Seacrest serving as host, for the show’s its 14th season.

“Jennifer, Keith, Harry and Ryan are the very best in the business at what they do, and I’m thrilled that they are returning to American Idol for another season,” said David Hill, senior executive vice president at 20th Century Fox Television. “Each brings unique qualities and expertise to the team, but they all share the same passion for helping undiscovered singers achieve the American dream.”

American Idol wrapped its 13th season on May 21 down from the previous year.

No word yet on whether any dramatic changes will happen in the upcoming season.

Pitbull to Host Live New Year’s Eve Special on Fox

Pitbull has officially cemented his New Year’s Eve plans…

The 33-year-old Cuban American rap superstar will count down to 2015 with Fox, reaching a deal for Pitbull’s New Year’s Revolution special.

Hosted by the “Timber” singer and produced by Endemol, the special will air live on Wednesday, December 31 from 8:00-10:00 pm ET live (CT/MT/PT tape-delayed).

The project is aimed at potentially launching a New Year’s Eve franchise for Fox with Pitbull similar to ABC’s Rockin’ Evewith Ryan Seacrest and NBC’s New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly.

The show will feature performances by Pitbull and various musicians, DJs, and celebrities and will take place in his hometown of Miami, FL.

“The world needs to get ready to un-mute New Year’s Eve, because we are taking the party from the Big Apple to the Pineapple,” says Pitbull in a statement about his new project. “New Year’s Eve is officially in Miami and hosted by yours truly, Mr. Worldwide. P.S. Whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but whatever happens in Miami never happened, Daleee!”

Pena to Host Nickelodeon’s Summer Game Show “Web Heads”

The 24-year-old Spanish, Venezuelan and Dominican American singer-songwriter/actor and Big Time Rush member, who married actress Alex Vega earlier this year, will serve as the host on Nickelodeon‘s new Ryan Seacrest-backed game show.

The Big Time Rush television series alum will lead the competition series, which revolves around child contestants competing in challenges centered on viral videos, according to The Hollywood Reporter. 

The 40-episode summer game show, formerly titled Go Viral, will now be called Web Heads.

Production on the half-hour, studio-based show will begin next week.

“I grew up on Nickelodeon game shows and always dreamed of being a contestant,” said Pena in a statement to THR. “I’m excited to be doing something fun and unique that captures the heart and slime of Nick.”

The new job keeps Pena in the Nickelodeon family, where he was a lead in the music comedy series Big Time Rush from 2009 to 2013.

He recently wrapped production on George Lopez’s indie La Vida Robot, based on a Wired article about four undocumented Mexican-American high school students who form a robotics club and compete against MIT in a national robotics competition.

Pitbull to Perform During Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Event

Forget ringing! Pitbull is about to rock in the New Year….

The 32-year-old Cuban American rap superstar is the latest musician to be added to the list of performers at this year’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.

Pitbull will be performing live from Miami’s American Airlines Arena during the annual event, which gets underway starting at 8:00 pm ET in New York’s Times Square.

Pitbull is joining a roster that includes Enrique Iglesias, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke, Ariana Grande and Jason Derulo.

Jenny McCarthy will co-host the annual show from Times Square in New York City with Seacrest, who will also lead the midnight countdown. Meanwhile, Stacy Ferguson a.k.a. Fergie will host the celebration in Los Angeles.
