Daddy Yankee’s “Dura” Reaches No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay Chart

Daddy Yankee has another No. 1 on his resume…

The 41-year-old Puerto Rican rapper-singer has earned his ninth No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart, as “Dura” rises 4-1 on the March 17-dated list.

The song collected 16.4 million in audience impressions (up 15 percent) in the week ending March 11, according to Nielsen Music.

“Dura” is the first single from Daddy Yankee’s upcoming studio album El Disco Duro.

Daddy Yankee replaces himself at No. 1 on the Latin Airplay chart, as his featured turn on Wisin’s “Todo Comienza En La Disco” (also featuring Yandel) crowned the list a week earlier (March 10). On the new chart, is descends 1-5.

The last time an act replaced itself at No. 1 on Latin Airplay was on November 5, 2016, when J Balvin replaced himself atop the list. That week, Balvin’s “Safari,” featuring Pharrell Williams and Bia & Sky ceded the summit to Zion & Lennox’s “Otra Vez,” featuring Balvin. The latter jumped 4-1, earning Balvin his sixth leader. He’s since added a seventh No. 1 with “Mi Gente,” alongside Willy William, featuring Beyoncé.

On Hot Latin Songs — which blends airplay, sales and streams — “Dura” holds at No. 2 for a second week, and takes Greatest Gainer/Airplay honors. It also hits No. 1 on Latin Rhythm Airplay, ascending 3-1. It’s his 17th leader on the list, extending his record for the most No. 1s in the 17-year history of the tally. In second place: Wisin & Yandel, with 14.

The 39-year-old Colombian superstar is closing the year as the No. 1 artist on YouTube’s Music Global Top 100.

Shakira currently ranks No. 1 on the chart dated December 15 with the official music video for her new single “Chantaje” featuring Maluma with 57.6 million views during the period from December 9-15, a 17.8% increase over the previous week.

Shakira’s sultry clip also leads as the top video of the year with more than 268 million views (and counting).

But Shakira isn’t the only Latin artist to make the Top 10 for the week…

Ricky Martin ranks at No. 5 on the chart with the official music video for his single “Vente Pa’Ca,” featuring Maluma. The clip logged an additional 30.3 million views during the week.

Meanwhile, Daddy Yankee’s “Shaky Shaky” video comes in at No. 8 woth 29.6 million views during the week.

Further down the list: Carlos Vives and Shakira’s “La Bicicleta” video at No. 11, Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic” video at No. 13, J Balvin’s “Safari” video at No. 14, Zion & Lennox’s “Otra Vez” video featuring J Balvin at No. 15, Fifth Harmony’s “Work From Home” video at No. 17, and Maluma’s “Sin Contrato” video at No. 18.

J Balvin’s “Ay Vamos” Video Surpasses the Billion-Views Mark on YouTube

The 31-year-old Colombian singer’s music video “Ay vamos” surpassed the billion-views mark on YouTube earlier this week, making him the first Latin urban artist to reach ten digits with a video on the platform.

Balvin’s milestone on YouTube also makes him the third Latin act to reach a billion views. In 2014, Enrique Iglesias became the first Latin artist ever to hit 1 billion with “Bailando” ft. Gente de Zona and Descemer Bueno. In July, Romeo Santos‘ “Propuesta indecente” surpassed the mark as well.

On the Billboard charts, “Ay vamos” was Balvin’s first No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs (dated March 7, 2015) chart. The reggaeton anthem spent 10 weeks at No. 1 on the Latin Rhythm Airplay chart and has sold 212,000 downloads, according to Nielsen Music.

The YouTube achievement comes days after Balvin notched his fifth No. 1 on Latin Airplay chart, with his track “Safari,” featuring Pharrell and BIA.

Up next, the “Bobo” singer is set to perform at the 17th edition of the Latin Grammys on Nov. 17. Balvin’s Safari is nominated for Best Urban Music Album.

The 31-year-old Colombian reggaeton singer has released the highly anticipated music video for his single “Safari” on YouTube.

Balvin had previously premiered the clip on on Apple Music in August.

Surrounded by female dancers in an intimate setting, Balvin, Pharrell and rapper BIA sing the reggae infused track featured on his latest album, Energía.

“Safari” is currently No. 21 on Billboard‘s Hot Latin Songs chart (dated September 10).

The steamy video was filmed during Memorial Day weekend in Los Angeles and directed by Grant Singer.

J Balvin’s “Bobo” Reaches No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs Chart

It’s another chart topper for J Balvin

The 31-year-old Colombian reggaeton singer’s latest single “Bobo,” which broke Spotify and Vevo records after its release, rises 3-1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart (dated July 2), earning him his third chart-topping hit.

“Bobo” reaches No. 1 in only its sixth charting week.

A 31 percent rise in streams helped push the song to the summit, earning the Streaming Gainer tag and increasing to 2.4 million U.S. on-demand plays in the week ending June 16, according to Nielsen Music.

YouTube claims the most clicks, with 69 percent of the overall streams. Over on the Latin Streaming Songs chart, “Bobo” reaches a new peak — rising 4-2.

“Bobo” is the second single from Balvin’s Energia album, which will be released June 24. Most recently, he spent 22 weeks atop Hot Latin Songs with the set’s lead track, “Ginza.”

Two additional preview songs from the album were released exclusively on Apple Music on June 17; “Safari,” featuring Pharrell, BIA and Sky, and “Malvada,” which could impact the charts dated July 9.
