Freeform has announced that the second season of Grown-ish, starring the 30-year-old Mexican and Honduran American actress, will premiere on January 2 at 8:00 pm ET.

Following their freshman year, Zoey (Yara Shahidi) and her friends are returning for their second year at CalU, during which they’ll soon discover they still have a lot to learn.

Returning alongside Shahidi and Raisa, who portrays Zoey’s roommate Ana Torres, are Trevor Jackson, Emily Arlook, Jordan Buhat, Chloe and Halle Bailey, Luka Sabbat and Deon Cole.

Raúl Castillo to Star in the Detective Film “Knives Out”

The knives are out for Raúl Castillo…

The 41-year-old Mexican American has joined the cast of Rian Johnson’s starry detective movie Knives Out.

Riki Lindhome, Edi Patteron,Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Lakeith Stanfield, Jamie Lee Curtis, Christopher Plummer, Ana de Armas, Michael Shannon, Toni Collette, Don Johnsonand Jaeden Lieberheralso star in the film, which is now in production in Boston.

Plot details are still under wraps, but the film is said to be a modern day murder mystery in the classic whodunit style.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Johnson has scripted and will direct.

Castillo has recently appeared in the Netflix series Seven Seconds and Atypical. 

CNCO Releases Single “Hey DJ” Featuring Meghan Trainor and Sean Paul

CNCO is joining forces with two global stars for a hot new remix…

The Latino boy band has joined voiced with Meghan Trainor and Sean Paul for “Hey DJ,” a new version of CNCO’s fan-favorite hit from their second album.

The international trio of artists have even released a lyric video for the song.

A full music video starring all three acts is also on the way, and the boy band has shared a photo with Billboard from the music video set. The picture shows CNCO members Joel, Christopher, Erick, Richard and Zabdiel along with Sean Paul wearing smoking suits, while Trainor wears a white ensemble.

Two weeks ago, Trainor teased the song on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and CNCO announced it during a Latin American Music Awards red carpet interview with Billboard.

Draco Rosa’s “Monte Sagrado” Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Pop Albums Chart

Draco Rosa is back at the summit…

The 49-year-old Puerto Rican musicianhas earned his second No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Pop Albums chart as Monte Sagrado, his 13th studio album, debuts in the top spot, on the chart dated November 10.

The album debuts with 2,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending November 1, according to Nielsen Music. Most of those units can be attributed to traditional album sales.

“Monte Sagrado is a celebration of life and gratitude,” Rosa tells Billboard.  “I’m overwhelmed with the amount of love it has received from everyone.”

Rosareturns to the top of the list after five and a half years. He first landed atop the tally with Vida, his 12th studio album, which opened at the summit in April 2013 and reigned for two weeks. Vida is Rosa’s longest-charting title among eight entries; it remained on the chart for a total of 25 weeks, 17 of which were in the top 10.

Monte Sagrado, released via Sony Music Latin on October 26, benefits from sales generated by an in-store album-signing appearance in Puerto Rico on October 27, as the set also scores a No. 1 debut on the Latin Albums Sales chart. It opens at No. 9 on Top Latin Albums and No. 17 on Rock Album Sales.

Prince Royce Recording Bachata Track with Marc Anthony

Prince Royce is going back to his roots…

The 29-year-old Dominican American singer has decided to go back to his bachataroots after expanding his music to other styles, and he’s invited legendary salsero Marc Anthony to record their first song together.

The track they’re working on is called “Adicto,” according to Billboard.

Prince Royce shared the news with Billboard during an interview in Los Angeles and revealed details about the collaboration.

“We were hanging out at Marc’s boat. A lot of friends come over, songwriters, and I played the song on his boat and originally, I had him in mind,” Royce said.

About the song, he added: “It’s a different type of record in general. It has a story, it has a lot of interaction between Marc and I, and it’s almost like a dialogue.”

No release date has been announced yet for Prince Royce and Marc Anthony’s song.

It’s Anthony’s first foray into bachata.

STXfilms Releases First Trailer for Pitbull’s Animated Film “UglyDolls”

Things are getting ugly for Pitbull..

STXfilms has released the first trailer for UglyDolls, a toon film inspired by the plush-toy line launched in 2001 with a voice cast that includes the 37-year-old Cuban American rapper.

Here’s the logline: In the adorably different town of Uglyville, weird is celebrated, strange is special, and beauty is embraced as more than simply meets the eye. Moxy (Kelly Clarkson) loves her square-peg life in this round-hole town, but her curiosity about all things leads her to wonder if there’s something — anything — on the other side of the mountain that nestles Uglyville. She gathers a group of her closest friends and sets off to find what’s on the other side. They discover Perfection, a town where more conventional dolls are trained in protocols before they graduate and are sent to the “real” world to find the love of a child.

In Perfection, Moxy and her crew are subject to the manipulations of Lou (Nick Jonas), the perfect doll in charge of training recruits. Here, the UglyDolls will confront what it means to be different, struggle with their desire to be loved, and ultimately discover that you don’t have to be perfect to be amazing because who you truly are is what matters most.

In addition to Pitbull, who voices the character of Ugly Dog, Clarkson and Jonas, other members of the voice cast include Janelle Monáe, Blake Shelton, Wanda Sykes, Emma Roberts, Gabriel Iglesias, Wang Leehom, Bebe Rexha, Charli XCXand Lizzo.

STXfilms will release UglyDolls on May 10.

Anitta the Focus of a New Netflix Docuseries, “Vai Anitta”

The 25-year-old Brazilian singer, songwriter, actress, dancer and businesswoman, who earned two Latin Grammy nominations this year, has a new Netflix docuseries called Vai Anitta.

Produced by Shots Studios, the Netflix original documentary will show the work, strategy, laughter and drama behind Anitta’s success.

Anitta, who gained global acclaim with her J Balvin collaboration “Downtown,” has become one of the most popular Latin artists. Many artists have either dropped a collaboration with her or has one in the works, including Maluma, Greeicy, Natti Natasha and Zion & Lennox.

But Anitta has been a big deal for nearly decade now, especially in her native Brazil. That’s why Netflix is telling her story with the docuseries.

All episodes of Vai Anitta will premiere on November 16 on Netflix.

Francia Raisa is toying around…

Freeform has released the official trailer for Life-Size 2, starring the 30-year-old Honduran and Mexican American actress and Tyra Banks.

In the film,  Raisa plays Grace Manning, a 20-something CEO of Marathon Toys, a huge toy company started by her mother that is most famous for manufacturing the iconic Eve doll. Grace is also in the middle of her quarter-life crisis, realizing she is in over her head as CEO. To make matters worse, her wild-child ways are causing the company’s stock to plummet. With the help of her young next-door neighbor, Grace’s old Eve doll (Banks) magically awakens to help get Grace back on track and give her the confidence to be the woman and leader Eve knows Grace can be.

The movie also stars Alison Fernandez, Gavin Stenhouse, Shanica Knowles and Hank Chen.

Life-Size 2 premieres on Sunday, December 2, at 9:00 pm EST/PST.

The film is written by Cameron Fay and Stacey Harman and directed by Steven K. Tsuchida.

Daddy Yankee to Release New Single “Adictiva,” Featuring Anuel AA

Daddy Yankee is ready to conquer the charts again…

The 41-year-old Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, rapper, actor, and record producer has announced on social media that he’s releasing his next song soon, a collaboration titled “Adictiva” with Anuel AA.

Daddy Yankee gave his fans a hint by posting a photo on Instagram where he’s seen posing in front of a car. A couple of hours later, he confirmed the news, posting the art for the new single.

This year, Daddy Yankee conquered the charts with his last single “Dura,” which peaked at No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart (dated March 10).

Daddy Yankee has yet to announce a release date for “Adictiva.”

USA Network Orders Second Season of Gabriel Chavarria’s “The Purge” Series

Gabriel Chavarria is still purging…

USA Network has picked up its series The Purge, starring the 29-year-old Latino actor, for a second season.

The news came ahead of the show’s Season 1 finale.

Based on the popular movie franchise, the series is a co-production with Blumhouse Television and Universal Cable Productions. It is currently the network’s No. 1 drama, averaging 2.3 million viewers in Live+7 ratings and 1.2 million in the key 18-49 demo.

“USA Network is so proud to be the television home for the iconic franchise The Purge,” said Chris McCumber, President, Entertainment Networks for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, in a release announcing the news. “The partnership and creative trust of Jason Blum and everyone at Blumhouse Television and Universal Pictures ensured The Purge’s successful transition from film to TV – and, along with Universal Cable Productions, we look forward to digging even deeper into the mythology in Season 2.”

The series revolves around a 12-hour period when all crime, including murder, is legal. Set in an altered America ruled by a totalitarian political party, Season 1 follows several seemingly unrelated characters living in a small city. As the clock winds down, they are forced to reckon with their past as they discover how far they will go to survive the night.

Film franchise creator James DeMonaco is executive producer of the series.

In addition to Chavarria, who portrays Miguel Guerrero, the series also stars Jessica Garza.
