The 26-year-old half-Mexican, part-Spanish American singer and her fellow Pentatonix members have released the new music video for “Making Christmas,” which fuses Halloween spooks and Christmas spirit.

“Making Christmas” is originally from Tim Burton’s beloved 1993 animated film The Nightmare Before Christmas.

In the video, the a cappella group alternates between a creepy graveyard and a snowy Christmas landscape as they harmonize on the “Making Christmas” vocals.

“Making Christmas” is the lead single from their upcoming album Christmas Is Here!due October 26.

The Mexican Norteño group has notched its 19th Top 10 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Songs airplay chat with “Con El Alma Bohemia” on the chart dated October 6.

The single is from the band’s latest album Alma Bohemia.

Syfy Releases Trailer for María Gabriela de Faría’s Series “Deadly Class”

Syfy has released a new teaser trailer Deadly Class, starring the 26-year-old Venezuelan actress, singer, model, and dancer.

The punk fueled 1980-set series is based on Rick Remender and Wes Craig’s comic about a school for assassins.

In addition to de Faría, who will portray Maria Salazar, other cast members include Benedict Wong, Benjamin WadsworthLana Condor, Luke Tennie and Liam James.

The Image Comics title about a Ronald Reagan Era academy called King’s Dominion and the introduction of homeless but cunning Marcus to the often-murderous teens who attend, the Vancouver-shot Deadly Class sees the Russo Brothers reunited with Doctor Strange and Infinity War vet Wong, who plays the ruthless school head Master Lin.

A slew of new characters from the comic have been added to the roster. Isaiah Lehtinen is set to play Shabnam, King’s Dominion’s resident bookworm as well as Brian Posehn as metalhead Dwight Shandy. Erica Cerra will step into the role of Beheading 101 teacher De Luca while French Stewart will play unpredictable psych teacher Scorpio Slasher. Rounding out the new additions are Olivia Cheng as the intense Master Gao, a 12th generation assassin who is considered royalty and has a special connection to Master Lin and Ice-T will make a special voiceover cameo during a wild trip the King’s Dominion crew takes.

Deadly Class hit the small screen on January 16 at 10:00 pm ET.

Jan Luis Castellanos to Star in Season 2 of Marvel/Hulu’s Series “Marvel’s Runaways”

The Dominican actor will star in the second season of Marvel’s Runaways.

He’ll portray Topher, a fan-favorite character known for his crafty, streetwise persona.

“I’m super grateful to be joining the Marvel/Hulu Runaways family,” says Castellanos. “It has been a dream come true. Topher is a tough and complicated kid, and it was very exciting to bring him to life.”

Topher is a survivor with a dark secret in the comics — he’s a vampire not to be trusted — but the character may be taken in a different direction on the acclaimed Hulu series, which many fans regard as one of the most satisfying of the many Marvel-based shows currently underway.

Castellanos is a newcomer to acting. His previous work has been in commercials and campaigns with credits including Adidas, Abercrombie & Fitch and Coppertone.

The 13-episode second season of Marvel’s Runaways will be released on December 21.

Tell Me A Story takes the world’s most beloved fairy tales and reimagines them as a dark and twisted psychological thriller.

Set in modern-day New York City, the first season of this serialized drama interweaves The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood and Hansel andGretel into an epic and subversive tale of love, loss, greed, revenge and murder.

In addition to Ramirez, who starred in the final season of ABC’s fairy tale series Once Upon a Time, the cast also includes James Wolk, Billy Magnussen,Danielle Campbell, Dorian Missick, Michael Raymond-James, Davi Santos, Sam Jaeger, Zabryna Guevara with Paul Wesley and Kim Cattrall.

Guardiola, best known for her breakout role on Netflix’s original series The Get Down, will star opposite Josh Duhamel, Leslie Bibb, Nora Dunn and Isiah Whitlock Jr.

The film, directed by Vicky Wight, is slated to go before the cameras next week in Austin.

Based on the novel by Katherine Center, the film was written by Wight, who is also producing under her Six Foot Pictures banner.

The story centers on Libby who, trying to put her life back together after the death of her husband, moves to her estranged Aunt’s goat farm with her children in Central Texas.

Anabelle Acosta to Star in Millennium Media & CineTel Films’ “Kill Chain”

The 31-year-old Cuban actress will star opposite Ryan Kwanten in Kill Chain, the thriller from Millennium Media and CineTel Films toplined by Nicolas Cage.

Ken Sanzel wrote and directed the film, which has just wrapped production in Colombia and will be on offer later this month at the American Film Market.

The film opens with a hotel room shootout between two assassins, kicking off a long night where bodies fall like dominoes as we follow a chain of crooked cops, gangsters, hitmen, a femme fatale and an ex-mercenary through a relay of murder, betrayal, and revenge.

Netflix to Launch its Live-Action Superhero Series “The Umbrella Academy” with David Castañeda in February

Netflix has announced plans to launch its live-action superhero series The Umbrella Academy, starring the Latino actor, on Friday, February 15.

Additionally, Netflix released the first batch of character posters, including Castañeda’s character Diego, as well as new images from the series.

Here’s the detailed logline: On the same day in 1989, forty-three infants are inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before. Seven are adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves, a billionaire industrialist, who creates The Umbrella Academy and prepares his “children” to save the world. But not everything went according to plan. In their teenage years, the family fractured and the team disbanded. Now, the six surviving thirty-something members reunite upon the news of Hargreeves’ passing. Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Vanya and Number Five work together to solve a mystery surrounding their father’s death. But the estranged family once again begins to come apart due to their divergent personalities and abilities, not to mention the imminent threat of a global apocalypse.

THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY

The series is based on Dark Horse Comics’ comics and graphic novels created and written by Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Bá.

In addition to Castañeda, The Umbrella Academy also stars Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Cameron Britton, and Mary J. Blige.

Jessica Marie Garcia Upped to Series Regular for Season 2 of Netflix’s “On My Block”

The Latina actress has been upped to series regular for the upcoming second season of Netflix’s On My Block, the coming-of-age comedy co-created and executive produced by Lauren Iungerich, Eddie Gonzalez and Jeremy Haft.

The series was renewed in April.

In Season 1 of the series, about a group of bright and street-savvy friends navigating their way through the triumph, pain and the newness of high school in LA’s South Central, Garcia recurred as Jasmine. She is confident, full of enthusiasm and swagger and never afraid to share her opinion. She embraces who she is and likes the skin she’s in.

Diego Tinoco, Sierra Capri, Jason Genao, Brett Gray and Ronnie Hawk also star.

On My Blockpremiered on March 16.

Garcia’s television credits include Disney Channel’s Liv and Maddie and Hulu’s all-female sketch comedy show Betch. She also starred alongside Danny Trejoand Lou Diamond Phillips in 2017’s film Avenge the Crows.

Sony Pictures Animation & Columbia Pictures Release New Trailer for Luna Lauren Velez’s “Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse”

Sony Pictures Animation and Columbia Pictures has unveiled a new trailer for Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse, featuring the 53-year-old Puerto Rican actress as part of the voice cast.

The film, an animated take on the Spider-Manfranchise masterminded by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, will be released in theaters on December 14, with a New York Comic-Con appearance later this week in the offing.

After the success in June of the first trailer, which scored 44 million views in its first 24 hours, comes more of the storyline this time around.

It centers on a new Spider-Man, Brooklyn teen Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), who discovers he is only the Spidey in his, well, “soggy, weird, gross” French Fry universe, as portals open and many other versions come through. Others include a past-his-prime Peter Parker (Jake Johnson) who acts as Miles’ mentor, Spider-Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld), Spider-Man Noir (Nicolas Cage), Penny Parker and her robot SPDR (voiced by Kimiko Glenn) and Spider-Ham (John Mulaney).

In addition to Velez, the loaded voice cast also includes Mahershala Ali, Brian Tyree Henry, Lily Tomlin and Liev Schreiber.

Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman are the directors, and Rothman wrote the script with Lord who created the story.
