Bad Bunny has bounced back yet again…

The 28-year-old Puerto Rican rapper and singer’s Un Verano Sin Ti returns to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart dated Sept. 3 for a ninth nonconsecutive week on top.

Bad BunnyIt now ties the Encanto soundtrack for the most weeks atop the chart in 2022. The last album with more weeks at No. 1 is Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album, which logged 10 weeks, all consecutive, atop the list in early 2021 (Jan. 23-March 27, 2021-dated charts).

Un Verano Sin Ti climbs 2-1 on the latest list with 105,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending August 25 (down 3%), according to Luminate.

Of Un Verano Sin TiIs 105,000 equivalent album units earned, SEA units comprise 102,000 (equaling 143.72 million on-demand official streams of the set’s tracks), album sales and TEA units comprise the remaining sum.

Un Verano Sin Ti debuted at No. 1 on the May 21, 2022-dated chart, then stepped away from the top slot for three weeks. It returned to No. 1 on June 18, and then moved aside for two more weeks, returning to No. 1 for five straight weeks from the July 9 through August 6-dated charts. It then fell to No. 2 on August 13, returned to No. 1 on the August 20 chart, fell back to No. 2 on the August 27 list, and now climbs back to No. 1 on the new ranking.

Un Verano Sin Ti is the first album with five separate visits to No. 1 since Adele’s 21 had 10 distinct stays at No. 1 in 2011-12, for a total of 24 weeks atop the list. It debuted at No. 1 on the March 12, 2011-dated list and notched its final week atop the chart on June 23, 2012.

Plus, Un Verano Sin Ti has yet to depart the top two rungs of the chart for its entire 16-week run on the list thus far. The last album to start off as strong was Drake’s Views, which spent its first 17 weeks in the top two (May 21-September 10, 2016-dated charts).

Also in the top 10 of the new Billboard 200, Demi Lovato, who logs the highest debut of the week, as Holy Fvck starts at No. 7 with 33,000 equivalent album units earned.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album.

Demi Lovato Releases New Pop-Punk Album “Holy Fvck”

Demi Lovato is having a holy moment…

The 30-year-old half-Mexican American singer, songwriter and actor has released her highly anticipated album Holy Fvck.

Demi LovatoLovato’s voice has always been a spectacular instrument — sturdy yet soaring, able to attack the highest notes yet still be approachable enough to avoid showiness.

With Holy Fvck, however, Lovato is utilizing that voice for their most frank and genuine statement to date, in a mode — percussion-heavy pop-punk — that suits her well.

Although its title and album artwork, featuring Lovato tied up on a cross-shaped mattress, suggest a shock-rock pivot, Lovato’s unflinching thoughts on sexuality, religion, their mistreatment as a teen star and autonomy today are provocative without coming across as overly theatrical.

Holy Fvck is simply Lovato’s story to tell, and above wiry guitar riffs and cymbal crashes, she tells it with confidence.

Demi Lovato to Take Over Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show” for Three Nights This Month

Demi Lovato is preparing for a three-(to)night stay….

The 29-year-old half-Mexican American singer/actor will pull triple duty on Jimmy Fallon’s NBC late-night talk show The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. It comes as many of Fallon’s late-night peers are on relatively long summer hiatuses.

Demi LovatoLovato will head to Studio 6B to join Fallon on the late-night series in a move that they’re calling Fallon’s Superstar Super Summer.

Lovato will act as special guest, co-host and musical performer between August 16 and 18.

It comes as she is preparing to release new album Holy Fvck. It will mark Lovato’s ninth appearance on the show, having previously played games such as Wheel of Musical Impressions and Best Friends Challenge.

Other guests for the summer include Madonna on August 10, ahead of her compilation album Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones; Megan Thee Stallion; Sterling K. Brown, Elvis Costello, Idris Elba, Kate McKinnon and Martin Short.

The co-hosting is nothing new on The Tonight Show with Fallon having previously invited the likes of Cardi B, Kevin Hart, Dave Grohl and Shawn Mendes to join him. Other musicians to perform takeovers include Ariana Grande, BTS, Miley Cyrus and Cher.

Demi Lovato Opens Up About Title Track of Upcoming “Holy Fvck” Album

Demi Lovato is opening about the title track of her upcoming album…

The 29-year-old half-Mexican singer/actor teased their forthcoming album Holy Fvck during a call into the SiriusXM studios on Monday, July 18.

Demi Lovato“The title track of the album is called ‘Holy Fvck’ and the song was basically, I wanted to flip the phrase ‘holy f–k’ on its head. And instead of just saying ‘holy f–k,’ I wanted to write a song that says, ‘I’m a holy f–k,’” Lovato explained. “It’s definitely a sexually charged song, but it’s really fun.”

“I felt like it was a great, eye-catching title track for the rest of the album,” she continued, “and especially because there’s songs on the album that have, like, kind of religious undertones, there’s songs on the album that have this dichotomy of good and bad, and that song kind of represented both.”

Lovato also insisted their record label, Island Records, was immediately on board with idea despite its NSFW implications. “My label is so great and so supportive that, like, anything that I say goes,” the singer said. “Like, they’re really, really great to me and I know a lot of artists don’t have that so I’m really fortunate. I remember being the one asking questions, like, ‘Am I gonna be able to say this? And what do I say instead?’ And it’s just, like, look, it’s f–king rock and roll. Like, they’ll bleep you if they need to and if they don’t, even better.”

Set for release on August 19, Lovato’s upcoming eighth studio set has already been preceded by singles “Skin of My Teeth” and “Substance.”

Demi Lovato Releases New Single “Substance”

Demi Lovato is embracing the substance

The 29-year-old half-Mexican American singer/actress has released their new song “Substance,” as well as the music video for the track.

Demi LovatoIt’s the second single off Lovato’s eighth studio album, Holy Fvck. The single was released on Friday (July 15) alongside with the video that feels just as angry as the song sounds — perfectly paving the way for Lovato’s fresh new era as a bona fide punk rocker.

As she wails over full-throttle drums and guitars lifted straight from late ’90s/early 2000s emo rock hits, the video finds Lovato smashing a glass gold record plaque with a baseball bat, falling purposefully out the window of a skyscraper conference room and spray painting “Holy Fvck” onto a wall.

“So I ask myself: Am I the only one looking for substance?” they sing. “Got high, it only left me lonely and loveless/ Don’t wanna end up in a casket/ head full of maggots, body full of jack s–t/ I get an abundance/ Am I the only one looking for substance?”

The new single arrives just one day after the Grammy nominee unveiled the full tracklist for Holy Fvck.

In addition to “Substance” and lead single “Skin of My Teeth,” which Lovato released in June, the August 19-slated album includes 14 other tracks featuring collaborations with YungBlud, Royal & The Serpent, and Dead Sara.

Lovato has been in the process of launching an edgy new musical style since January, when she held a metaphorical funeral for the seven albums worth of pop music the “Cool For The Summer” singer made leading up to Holy Fvck. They’ve been steadily teasing bits and pieces of songs on the upcoming album on social media, and recently said in a statement: “Never have I been more sure of myself and my music, and this record speaks that for itself.”

“To my Lovatics who have been rocking out with me since the beginning and those who are just now coming along for the ride, thank you,” they continued. “This record is for you.”

Demi Lovato to Release New Single “Substance” in Mid-July

The singles just keep comin’ from Demi Lovato

The 29-year-old half-Mexican American singer/actor has announced plans to release the second single from their upcoming album Holy Fvck.

Demi LovatoLovato revealed on that the upcoming album’s next single, “Substance,” will be arriving on July 15.

The star shared the news alongside the track’s abstract cover art, which features Lovato sitting at the base of a circular opening, as black sludge spills out.

“Substance” will arrive just a month after Lovato unveiled the album’s punk-leaning lead single, “Skin of My Teeth,” which features the singer belting over high-voltage guitar, “I’m alive by the skin of my teeth/ I survived when it got harder to breathe/ God d–n it I just wanna be free.”

Holy Fvck, their eighth studio album, will be released on August 19, 2022 via Island Records. The upcoming 16-track album will revisit Lovato’s rock and pop-punk roots and deliver a retrospective of their life experiences, according to a press release. “The process of making this album has been the most fulfilling yet, and I’m grateful to my fans and collaborators for being on this journey with me,” they previously said of the album in a press statement. “Never have I been more sure of myself and my music, and this record speaks that for itself. To my Demi Lovato who have been rocking out with me since the beginning and those who are just now coming along for the ride, thank you. This record is for you.”

Demi LovatoThe upcoming 16-track album will revisit Lovato’s rock and pop-punk roots and deliver a retrospective of their life experiences, according to a press release.

“The process of making this album has been the most fulfilling yet, and I’m grateful to my fans and collaborators for being on this journey with me,” they said in a press statement. “Never have I been more sure of myself and my music, and this record speaks that for itself. To my Lovatics who have been rocking out with me since the beginning and those who are just now coming along for the ride, thank you. This record is for you.”

Lovato also shared a clip on Instagram of the album’s lead single, “Skin of My Teeth,” which will be released this Friday, June 10.

Demi Lovato Teases Emotional New Album

Demi Lovato is getting emotional on their next album…

According to an emotional message on the 29-year-old half-Mexican American singer-songwriter’s Instagram Story, the upcoming release will share the artist’s ups and downs during their personal journey.

Demi LovatoThough the “Cool For the Summer” singer’s title-pending eighth studio album has yet to be announced, it sounds like it’s getting pretty close to completion.

“Getting emotional listening to my new album because I’m so proud of it,” Lovato wrote. “It’s my absolute best yet and so representative of me, where I started and who I am today.”

In January, Lovato staged a “funeral” for their pop music, signifying a shift toward punk and rock influences that are definitely noticeable in clips they’ve shared of their unreleased songs. They accompanied their recent Instagram statement with a video singing along in the car to one 2000s-influenced track most likely titled “City of Angels,” and the day before that, posted a video of one called “Happy Ending,” which included the lyrics: “Sure I’m sober now, and everybody’s proud, but I miss my vices. Am I going to die trying to find my happy ending?”

“Yesterday I posted a song called ‘Happy Ending’ and even tho I wrote this in an incredibly dark place I’m so grateful that I’m no longer in that low, cold and lonely place,” Lovato continued in their Story. “I’m sure that no matter what happens in my life…my happy ending is never having to fall into bad habits again.”

The bad habits they’re referring to include their addictions to drugs and alcohol, which Lovato has openly spoken about struggling with since they were a teenager.

They dropped a single called “Sober” in which they admitted to relapsing after years of sobriety in 2018, about a month before being hospitalized due to an opioid overdose. The artist also opened up about the near-fatal experience in their 2021 documentary Dancing With the Devil, and has been fully sober since December at the latest.

“I can’t wait for everyone to hear,” they concluded. “I love you all.”

Demi Lovato to Release “Sped Up Remix” of Hit Single “Cool for the Summer”

Demi Lovato is (re)mixing things up for the summer….

The 29-year-old half-Mexican American singer/actor is readying to release a remix of their sultry 2015 hit, “Cool for the Summer.”

Demi Lovato

The star took to Twitter on Wednesday, March 30, to share the pre-save link for the “Sped Up Remix” of the song.

The release, of course, comes following the summery hit’s resurgence on TikTok, thanks to a hip-swaying dance challenge and a viral mashup with Ginuwine’s “Pony” from user @kuyamagik.

Upon its release, “Cool for the Summer” peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart dated September 19, 2015, and spent a total of 20 weeks on the chart.

Earlier this year, Lovato bid farewell to their pop music and welcomed a new, rock era. Lovato jokingly shared an image to their Instagram grid posing with both middle fingers up,  joined by music executives from Island Records and manager Scooter Braun. Every person in the picture wore all black. “A funeral for my pop music,” Lovato captioned the brooding image.

Lovato then elaborated via their Instagram Story, with one of the label executives saying, “You put out whatever music you want, whenever you want to. Break the rules.”

Demi then shared two snippets of a new rock song in the following clips.

Lovato’s most recent album, Dancing With the Devil…The Art of Starting Over, primarily featured pop lyrics and production.

The album peaked at No. 2 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. Fans were first given a taste of Lovato’s rock-inspired sound in their first two albums, Don’t Forget and Here We Go Again, under Disney’s Hollywood Records.
