The 26-year-old part-Mexican American actress will star in Todd Bogin’s first feature, Left with Only Rain.
Liberato will star opposite Jordan Rodrigues, Rumer Willis and Richard Kind in the film.
The thriller centers on Sabina Geshem, a young woman reeling from a breakup, who is struggling to rebuild her once-promising dance career. After a dalliance with her ex threatens her big comeback, Sabina goes to a small town to track him down. There, she discovers his new and pregnant girlfriend, inserting herself into the unsuspecting woman’s life, and seeking something other than closure.
Bogin penned the script for the film.
Liberato recently wrapped production on K. Asher Levin’s Dig, an indie feature in which she stars opposite Emile Hirsch.
She can currently be seen in Banana Split, a Netflix rom-com in which she stars opposite Dylan Sprouse, and as McKenna Brady in Hulu’s Light as a Feather, having earned two Daytime Emmy Award nominations for her turn in the YA series.
The actress has also appeared in features including To the Stars, Measure of a Man, To the Bone, Novitiate, If I Stay, and Stuck in Love, among others.

Saban Films has acquired the North American rights to the action thriller American Night, starring the 45-year-old Spanish actress.
The announcement comes ahead of the film’s debut at the Venice Film Festival, with plans to release it in theaters this fall.
The first feature from writer-director Alessio Della Valle is a neo-noir set in New York City’s corrupt contemporary art world, which stars Emile Hirsch, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Vega, Jeremy Piven, Michael Madsen and more.
The film follows art dealer John Kaplan (Meyers) and Michael Rubino (Hirsch), the ruthless head of New York’s mafia, as they fight for money, art, power and love.
American Night hails from Martha Productions, Pegasus Entertainment, QMI and RAI Cinema. Martha Capello and Ilaria Dello Iacono produced the film, with Giorgio Ferrero exec producing.
“We look forward to working with Director Alessio Della Valle on his feature directorial debut American Night,” said Saban Films’ Bill Bromiley. “His experiences travelling the world have equipped him with a unique perspective and make him such a gifted filmmaker.”
Netflix and DreamWorks Animation have released the first full trailer for Trollhunters: Rise Of The Titans, which was co-written and executive-produced by the 56-year-old Mexican Oscar-winning filmmaker.
The animated film, which will be released on the streaming service on July 21, is set in the world created by del Toro in his epic Emmy-winning Tales Of Arcadiatrilogy.
In the animated fantasy adventure, Arcadia may look like an ordinary town but it lies at the center of magical and mystical lines that makes it a nexus for many battles among otherworldly creatures including trolls, aliens and wizards. Now, the heroes from the Trollhuntersseries team up in their most epic adventure yet, where they must fight the Arcane Order for control over the magic that binds them all.
“From the beginning, I tried to get together a group that would bring things to the table that were different,” says del Toro of the team behind the project.
He says the project was conceived as “three series that you can put together like a diorama and then you see how on an early episode of Trollhunters you’re going to see the characters of wizards and 3Below interacting, and then go back on a Möbius strip and see other episodes from the others’ point of view. Then finish with a movie.” He noted, “It sounded really crazy, but we were very careful in how we developed the assets, but also in the storytelling.”
del Toro previously pitched the series as live-action and set in the 1980s. Per del Toro, then-DWA chief Jeffrey Katzenberg replied, “We don’t do TV.” So, del Toro explained, “we started to try to cram it all into a feature. It was impossible.” Then, “One fateful morning Jeffrey invited me for breakfast, and when he pays for breakfast there’s something about to go, and he said, ‘Don’t kill me, but what do you think about doing it as a TV series?’ And I said, ‘That’s the best news we’ve ever had.’”

The 56-year-old Mexican filmmaker and two-time The Shape of Water Oscar has shared the release date and first teaser for his Netflix–DreamWorks Animation movie Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans.
Executive produced by del Toro, the filmwill hit the service on July 21.

The 56-year-old Puerto Rican actor will star opposite Mel Gibson, Kate Bosworth and Emile Hirsch in Emmett-Furla-Oasis’ Force of Nature.
Zayas, best known for his role on Dexter, will play John the Baptist in the Michael Polish-directed action film about a gang of thieves who plot a heist during a hurricane, only to have a cop complicate events.
Zayas’ character is part of the bank heist crew, described as a ruthless, cold guy who’ll stop at nothing to get what he wants, even if means sacrificing people on his team.
The film is currently shooting in Puerto Rico.
Zayas is a former New York police officer, and he began his acting career with LAByrinth Theater Company in 1992. His film credits include The Expendables, Michael Clayton, 16 Blocks, The Savages and Martin Scorsese’s Bringing Out the Dead. He’ll next appear in Paramount Players’Body Cam.
He played Angel Batista on the Emmy-winning Showtimes eries Dexter, was recently seen as Sal Maroni on Fox’s Gotham, portrayed Sheriff Aguirre on Netflix’s Bloodline, and Eduardo Magana on Hulu’s Shut Eyeamong several credits. While working on the crime drama The Beat, Zayas met Emmy-winning television writer and producer Tom Fontana, who went on to create the role of Enrique Morales on HBO’sOz especially for him.
The 43-year-old Spanish actress will star in American Night, a neo-noir thriller helmed by first-time film director Alessio Jim Della Valle.
Vega, who rose to acclaim in the United States after starring opposite Adam Sandler in Spanglish, will star opposite Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Emile Hirsch and Jeremy Piven in the film.
Written by Della Valle, the plot follows Michael Rubino (Hirsch) who has just become the Don of the New York Mafia, but his greatest dream is to devote his life to painting and become a great artist. John Kaplan (Meyers), an art dealer, may feel like his life is in shambles, but he still has the best eye for spotting fakes in the world. Their paths, apparently distant, cross when Andy Warhol’s Pink Marilynis stolen, setting off a series of unexpected events that upend their lives.
Vega will play Sarah, who works as a museum curator and has earned her success without any shortcuts. Her only problem is being hopelessly in love with Kaplan
Rounding out the cast are Fortunato Cerlino, Annabelle Belmondo, Mara Lane, and Alba Amira Ramadaniwith cameo appearances featuring Michael Madsen, Maria Grazia Cucinotta, Marco Leonardi, and international popstar Anastacia, who is writing and performing the song and main musical theme for the film.

The 54-year-old Mexican Oscar-winning filmmaker, screenwriter and producer has unveiled a first look at Netflix’s DreamWorks Tales of Arcadia: 3Below, the second chapter in the DreamWorks Tales of Arcadia.
del Toro, 3Below’screator and executive producer, shared details of the project at New York Comic Con. He was joined by voice talent Diego Luna, and fellow executive producers Rodrigo Blaas, Marc Guggenheim and Chad Hammes.
The series will feature Luna and Tatiana Maslany in the lead roles of Krel and Aja. Nick Offerman, Andy Garcia, Nick Frost, Alon Aboutboul, Chris Obi, Uzo Aduba, Cheryl Hines, Tom Kenny, Haley Atwell, Danny Trejo, and Ann Dowd will be lending their voices along with returning talent from Trollhunters including Emile Hirsch, Charlie Saxton, Lexi Medrano, Steven Yeun, Cole Sands, Kelsey Grammer and more.
Additionally, The Crystal Method created the main title theme that is heard in the opening credits video.
In 3Below,two royal teenage aliens, and their bodyguard flee a surprise takeover of their home planet by an evil dictator and crash land in Arcadia. Now on the run from intergalactic bounty hunters, they struggle to blend in and adapt to the bizarre world of high school all the while attempting to repair their ship so they can return and defend their home planet.

The 28-year-old Chilean actress and model has landed a role in the Quentin Tarantino-helmed film Once Upon a Time In Hollywood.
Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt, the film visits 1969 Los Angeles, where one-time TV star Rick Dalton (DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Pitt) make their way in an industry they hardly recognize anymore. The plot features multiple storylines in a tribute to the final moments of Hollywood’s golden age.
The large ensemble cast also includes Margot Robbie, Timothy Olyphant, Luke Perry, Damian Lewis, Dakota Fanning, Al Pacino, Emile Hirsch, Clifton Collins Jr., Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Scoot McNairy, Keith Jefferson and Nicholas Hammond.

The 32-year-old part-Mexican American hip-hop singer/actor will star in the indie action crime-thriller Vincent N Roxxy.
Directed and written by Gary Michael Schultz, and based on the story by Keith Kjarval, the film centers on a small town loner and a rebellious punk rocker who unexpectedly fall in love as they’re forced on the run and soon discover violence follows them everywhere.
The film will also star Emile Hirsch, Zoë Kravitz and Zoey Deutch.
Vincent N Roxxy will be screened at Tribeca Film Festival next month.
Penelope Cruz’s “homage to motherhood” will make its way to North America next year…
Entertainment One Films has acquired North American distribution rights to Twice Born, which stars the 38-year-old Spanish actress as an infertile woman.
Directed by Sergio Castellitto and starring Cruz and Emile Hirsch, the epic, operatic film centers on a single mother who brings her teenage son to Sarajevo, where his father died in the Bosnian conflict years before.
“I think this movie is [a] homage to all women, a homage to motherhood,” said Cruz in a recent interview. “It’s a homage to that relationship of mother and child.”
Cruz plays Gemma, an Italian women who returns to Sarajevo in the present day with her 16-year-old son, Pietro. They’re in town so she can tell him more about his father, a dead American photographer named Diego (Hirsch), with whom she lived in the city years before. Through flashbacks, the viewer soon realizes Gemma isn’t actually Pietro’s mother.
“A woman that doesn’t want children obviously can be happy without children. But one that wants to have children that much … it’s very difficult for her to be happy. Of course I understood all that before I became a mother,” continues Cruz in her interview. “But after you give birth you understand in a much deeper way what Gemma was missing.”
The plan is to release Twice Born, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, in the United States and Canada next year.
