Tekashi 6ix9ine Releases New Nicki Minaj Collaboration “Trollz”

Tekashi 6ix9ine is trollzing the internet…

The 24-year-old Puerto Rican & Mexican American rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, and Nicki Minaj have released the candy-colored video for their latest collaboration, “Trollz.”

6ix9ine x Nicki Minaj

The song, which was release one week later than originally scheduled due to the nationwide protests over the police-involved killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, was released Friday morning with the visual a feast for the eyes and a famine for anyone who thinks they can take either MC on.

“They get nervous when it’s Nicki on the roster/ Somebody ushered this n—a into a clinic/ My flow’s still sick, I ain’t talkin’ a pandemic,” Minaj raps in between shots of her twerking in a bubble bath in a rainbow-colored bikini and bouncing topless in digital pasties and ROYGBV hair. “I write my own lyrics, a lot of these b—-es gimmicks/They study Nicki style, now all of them want to mimic.”

The follow-up to Tekashi’s first song since leaving prison, “Gooba,” the new track is uncharacteristically sedate for the typically over-amped rapper.

Over a laconic beat, 6ix9ine’s first verse is a near-whisper before he unleashes on his detractors.

“I know you don’t like me, you wanna fight me/ You don’t want no problems at your party, don’t invite me,” he spits in a more melodic take on his typical guttural flow (which, don’t worry, is back on the second verse). “I don’t worry ’bout you n—as, please stop talking about me/ Always talking ’bout me ’cause you looking for the clouty.”

The sequel to the dynamic duo’s “FEFE” single from 2018 finds them sharing cotton candy and a giant bowl of colorful cereal, amid scenes of Nicki pouring milk on 6ix9ine’s head and Tekashi toting a giant cash stack and adjusting his ankle monitor.

Minaj said on Instagram that “a portion of the proceeds from #Trollz including merch items, will be going directly to The Bail Project Inc. [@bailproject].”

“A portion of the proceeds from #Trollz including merch items, will be going directly to The Bail Project Inc,” she wrote in her post.

Early Wednesday morning (June 10), Minaj “The fund provides free bail assistance to low-income individuals who can’t afford to pay bail while awaiting their trial. We want to protect and support the thousands of brave people working on the front lines of social justice, using their voices to demand AN END to the targeting and killing of Black Americans by the police. #BlackLivesMatter link in bio to Pre-save #TrollzVIDEO tmrw @ midnight.”

Christina Aguilera Marks 10th Anniversary of “Bionic” with “Little Dreamer” Streaming Release

Christina Aguilera’s celebrating an anniversary with a dream treat…

It’s been 10 years since the 39-year-old half-Ecuadorian American singer released her sixth studio album Bionic, and to mark the occasion, Aguilera’s made bonus track “Little Dreamer” available on streaming platforms for the first time.

Christina Aguilera

On the mid-tempo electro-pop ballad, which was previously available only as a bonus track on iTunes,  the pop star bids farewell to her titular dreamer over a skittering beat filled with beeps, glitches and trills.

“So long, my little dreamer, I will miss your face/ We’ll always stay connected through time and space/ The journey that we shared, but now have to leave/ Will live inside of us for eternity,” she declares on the track’s churning chorus.

Released on June 4, 2010, Bionic occupies a unique space within Aguilera’s oeuvre. Featuring brashly sexual lead single “Not Myself Tonight” as well as the raunchy Nicki Minaj-assisted banger “Woohoo” and the soaring, oft-overlooked ballad “You Lost Me,” the album peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 — Aguilera’s lowest entry on the chart in her career at the time.

Bionic was met with mixed reviews and underwhelming sales, particularly compared to the smash successes of 2006’s Back to Basics, 2002’s Stripped and Aguilera’s 1999 self-titled debut. But, while it was quickly overshadowed by the singer’s starring turn alongside Cher in Burlesque just five short months later, Bionichas become known as something of a cult favorite LP among her most passionate fan base in the decade since its release, complete with regular calls of #JusticeForBionic on social media.

Karol G Releases Pinktastic New Video for Nicki Minaj Collaboration, “Tusa”

Karol Gis Queen-ing out…

The 28-year-old Colombian singer, one of the most in-demand collaborators in the Latin pop world, has joined voices with Nicki Minaj on “Tusa,” and the catchy single’s video.

Karol G, Tusa, Nicki Minaj

The song’s title hails from a Colombian slang term for the heartache one experiences after a breakup. But, Karol G and Minaj don’t sweat it — in both English and Spanish, instead they party away the pain.

“Se cansó de ser buena/Ahora es ella quien los usa,” sings Karol G.

Colombian producer Ovy on the Drums accents the swaggering reggaeton track with a crisp sample of a classical string quartet. The song’s pomp is matched by the luxe, Rococo feel of the video, directed by Mike Ho; together the divas revel in diamonds, feathers and miles of pink satin.

“Pero hice todo este llanto por nada/Ahora soy una chica mala,” sings Minaj in Spanish.

The track came together after Karol G and Minaj  began messaging privately on Instagram, then swapped a few demos. It was Karol G’s idea for “Tusa” that finally won Minaj’s approval.

“[The collaboration] came into my life unexpectedly and I wanted to keep it like that for my fans,” said Karol G in a press statement. “The collaboration and the song means more to me than I can put into words. I hope everyone enjoys ‘Tusa’ as much as Nicki and I did creating it!”

Karol G has previously collaborated with PitbullJessie Reyez, Damian Marley and Nicky Jam, among others.
