Chayanne to Speak During This Year’s Billboard Latin Music Week

Chayanne is ready to talk shop…

The 54-year-old Puerto Rican Latin pop singer and actor will take part in this year’s Billboard Latin Music Week, set to take place on September 26-30 at the Faena Forum in Miami.

ChayanneChayanne, one of Latin music’s most successful pop stars who has crooned to fans for nearly four decades with his ballads, will be releasing new music for the first time in more than six years, and speaking in his first interview in over five years.

But he isn’t the only new addition to the roster…

Ivy Queen, known as the Queen of Reggaeton, will open up about her prolific 25-year career, songwriting process, new music, and struggles as the only woman in a genre dominated by men.

Both Chayanne and Ivy join an already-announced star-studded lineup that includes Romeo Santos, Camilo, Nicky Jam, Eslabon Armado, Bizarrap, Blessd, Yahritza Y Su Esencia, Luis R. Conriquez, Ovy on the Drums, Kunno and The Rivera Family. More participants will be announced in the weeks leading up to the 2022 Latin Music Week.

Billboard Latin Music Week will also coincide with the 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards on Thursday, Sept. 29, in Miami. The Billboard Latin Music Awards will broadcast live on Telemundo, and will also broadcast simultaneously on the Spanish entertainment cable network, Universo, and throughout Latin America and the Caribbean on Telemundo Internacional.

Bizarrap’s “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52” Collaboration with Quevedo Notches Second Week at No. 1 on Both Billboard Global 200 & Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Charts

The 23-year-old Argentine record producer and DJ’s collaboration with Spain’s QuevedoBzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52” has notched a second week at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts.

The two charts, which began in September 2020, rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by Luminate. The Billboard Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the U.S.

Chart ranks are based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, as well as download sales, the latter of which reflect purchases from full-service digital music retailers from around the world, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites excluded from the charts’ calculations.

“Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52” spends a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 after it drew 92 million streams (up 4%) and sold 1,000 downloads (up 34%) worldwide in the July 22-28 tracking week.

“For me, he was the perfect bridge between the Argentine urban movement and the world,” Federico “Fede” Lauria, president of Bizarrap’s label, Dale Play Records, told Billboard last week of his 2019 signing of the artist whose “Sessions” series began in 2018. “You could already see his impact in Argentina. His sessions were already having an effect.”

“My music is now heard around the world, and it’s something that’s honestly just incredible,” marveled Quevedo, who noted that Bizarrap reached out to him via Instagram for their collaboration. “He told me he liked what I was doing and was hoping we could do music together. The timing was perfect because I was in Argentina recording. So, we decided to do the session then. We recorded the song [and] then just spent the day laughing and watching videos on YouTube.

“Whatever Bizarrap touches turns gold,” Quevedo further mused. “Also, the song is perfect for summer and festivals, and people can sing along and dance to it. Plus, I’m a new artist, so I think people are intrigued about what I’m doing.”

U.S. chart for a second week, with 86.7 million streams (up 2%) and 800 downloads sold (up 28%) in territories outside the U.S. in the July 22-28 tracking week. (Of the song’s global totals in that span, 94% of its streams and 79% of its sales were from beyond the U.S., slightly gaining domestically from respective splits of 96% and 82% a week earlier, as the track holds at No. 5 on the U.S.-based Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart and surges 20-13 on Hot Latin Songs.)

Bizarrap will speak at Billboard Latin Music Week, on September 26-30, at the Iconic Songwriter Q&A, presented by Sony Music Publishing.

Quevedo Claims First No. 1 on Billboard Argentina Hot 100 chart with Bizarrap-Collab “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52”

Quevedo has found success in Argentina…

The 20-year-old Spanish rapper has captured his first No. 1 on the Billboard Argentina Hot 100 chart as “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52,” with Bizarrap, takes the lead on the July 16-dated ranking.

Quevedo, Bizarrap“Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52” rallies to the chart’s summit in its second week on the tally (the song was released on July 6), tying with Tini’s “La Triple T” for the fastest climber in 2022. The latter also needed two frames two reach No. 1 (May 14-dated survey).

Beyond the new achievement, with a 45-1 surge, the track takes the Greatest Gainer honors of the week and becomes the third-highest racer to No. 1 since the chart’s inception in 2018.

While the Argentinian producer Bizarrap scores his sixth champ, among those, four belonging to his Bzrp sessions, Quevedo takes the lead in his fourth try.

The rapper previously ranked at No. 6 with “Si Quieren Frontear,” with Duki & De La Ghetto (April 30-dated list).

As the session “Vol. 52” takes over atop the chart, it sends Shakira and Rauw Alejandro’s “Te Felicito” to No. 3 after its four-week reign.

Meanwhile, the Highest Debut of the week goes to Tini, Becky G and Anitta’s “La Lotto,” which bows at No. 7. The Brazilian secures her first top 10 since her maiden chart visit in Nov. 2018, while Tini and Becky G up their Argentina Hot 100 top 10 count to 12 and six, respectively.

The 45-year-old Colombian superstar and Rauw Alejandro have logged a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Argentina Hot 100 chart as “Te Felicito” holds atop the June 25-dated ranking.

It’s the third collaborative title to rule at least two weeks in 2022, after “Entre Nosotros,” by Tiago PZK, Lit Killah, Nickie Nicole and Maria Becerra, which topped the ranking for nine weeks this year (16 overall), and Paulo Londra and Bizarrap’s “Paulo LondraBzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 23” (two weeks).

Meanwhile, Bad Bunny joins a selective group of artists who have placed four simultaneous titles in the survey’s top 10 as “Moscow Mule” rebounds 13-10, one spot below its prior No. 9 peak (May 21-28-dated rankings). The Puerto Rican’s three other top 10 titles include “Me Porto Bonito” at No. 4, “Ojitos Lindos,” which lifts 6-5, and “Titi Me Preguntó” moving up 7-6.

Paulo Londra Signs Global Administration Deal with Warner Chappell Music

The 24-year-old Argentine rapper and singer has signed a global administration deal with Warner Chappell Music.

“I’m happy to share my new projects and music with my fans and the world!” Londra expressed in a statement. “Joining Warner Chappell is a huge honor and I’m confident that with our shared vision we’ll accomplish great things.”

Londra returned in March after a two-year hiatus with his infectious punk song “Plan A,” which scored him his first No. 1 debut on the Billboard Argentina Hot 100 chart. He secured another No. 1 hit on that chart in May with his Bizarrap-assisted “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 23.”

“Paulo’s unique sound is taking the world by storm,” added Gustavo Menéndez, president, Latin America & U.S. Latin, WCM. “He’s not only influencing the Latin American scene but also seeing mainstream success with each new release and collaboration. We’re very proud to welcome him to our Warner Chappell family and support this exciting next phase of his journey.”

For Ignacio Amato, Londra’s manager, the artist “continues to further consolidate his global status and has become one of the most versatile and prominent artists in the Latin urban genre.”

Londra — who has collaborated with Ed Sheeran, Becky G and more — has a total of three entries on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs and two on Latin Airplay, including his banger “Adan y Eva.” His freshman album, Homerun, debuted and peaked at No. 12 on Top Latin Albums in 2019 and at No. 10 on Latin Rhythm Albums, earning a combined 185,000 equivalent album units and 332 million on-demand song streams in the U.S., according to Luminate.

“With a new team for this new stage, Paulo is back stronger than ever, and undoubtedly, the best is yet to come!” Amato added.

Nathy Peluso to Trek Across Spain for First Major Tour

Nathy Peluso is ready for her first major tour in Spain.

With an already sold-out show at the Palau de la Musica in Barcelona this Friday and a following sold-out set at Granada’s Granada Alive! on May 28, the 26-year-old Argentine singer-songwriter and producer is bring her “Calambre” España Verano Tour to 17 confirmed dates.

Peluso, who’s expected to sing songs from her edgy and versatile 2020 album, including her Latin Grammy-nominated “Buenos Aires” and viral “BZRP Music Sessions #36,” helmed by produced Bizarrap, will visit cities like Seville, Madrid and Valencia, to name a few.

“I want to have the best show of my life and tour the whole world,” the former Billboard Latin Artist on the Rise previously told Billboard. “Live shows are my passion.”

On Instagram, Peluso assured fans that she created her album Calambre with the purpose to sing it live.

“You know that I’m ruthless on stage, so get ready for the sugar and the flavor that I prepared for each person who comes to these shows,” she expressed, promising that she and her entire band are ready for showtime.
