The 19-year-old Cuban-American singer and member of Fifth Harmony has left the all-girl group.

In a message posted on social media and signed by “Ally, Normani, Dinah and Lauren,” the group writes, “After four and a half years of being together, we have been informed via her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony. We wish her well.”

The remaining members, Ally Brooke Hernandez, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane Hansen and Lauren Jauregui, state that they will continue the group as a foursome.

As recently as December 9, when the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball tour hit New York City, the group had announced plans to release a new album. Kordei told radio personality Elvis Duran, “2017, it’s going to be popping,” and Jane Hansen added, “The third album is definitely going to be so lit. We’re really excited.”

Fifth Harmony was formed by Simon Cowell on the second season of the The X Factor US in July 2012. In January 2013, they signed a joint deal with Syco Music, owned by Cowell, and Epic Records, L.A. Reid‘s record label, after finishing in third place on the show.

To date, The group has sold 424,000 albums, 7 million digital songs and earned 1.6 billion on-demand streams in the U.S., according to Nielsen Music.

Their honors include three MTV Video Music Awards, an American Music Award, a Billboard Women in Music award and seven Teen Choice Awards.

In the last two years, Cabello released two singles which reached the top 20 on the US Billboard Hot 100: “I Know What You Did Last Summer” with Shawn Mendes in 2015, and “Bad Things” with Machine Gun Kelly earlier this year.

Fifth Harmony Earns a Spot on Spotify’s 25 Under 25 List

Ally Brooke Hernandez, Lauren Jauregui and Camila Cabello are streaming sensations…

Spotify revealed its annual 25 Under 25 list, with the Latina singers and their fellow Fifth Harmony members coming in as the highest-ranking Latin artist/act on the roster.

Fifth Harmony

The all-girl group ranks No. 8 on Spotify’s 25 Under 25 chart, with more than 16 million Spotify listeners stream Fifth Harmony’s singles each month. “Work From Home” has racked up more than half a billion listens and was playlist staple over the summer in the U.S. and UK, and current track “All In My Head (Flex),” featuring Fetty Wap, has made a strong impact since its release.

To determine the list, music experts at Spotify looked at a variety of factors such as the number of people listening to an artist each month on Spotify—which has more than 25 million listeners each month, as well artists with songs featured in Spotify’s top playlists and top-performing artists by genre.

“With so many young listeners on Spotify, it’s always fascinating to hone in on the peer artists they’re listening to and looking up to,” said Shanon Cook, Spotify’s digital trends expert in a statement.

Meanwhile, Maluma is the highest-ranking Latino on the list. The Colombian artist comes in at No. 12.

Maluma is one of the first artists featured on Spotify’s now-popular “Baila Reggaeton” playlist when it debuted three years ago. His hit song, “Borro Casette,” has been featured in “Baila Reggaeton” for a solid year. With more than 6 million monthly listeners, as well as collaborations with Ricky Martin and Shakira, Maluma has earned bragging rights as the world’s top urban Latin artist.

In addition, there are a couple of Latina mainstays on the list. Selena Gomez comes in at No. 18, while Demi Lovato makes the roster at No. 22.

Fifth Harmony Taking Latin America By Storm

Lauren Jauregui, Camila Cabello and Ally Brooke Hernandez are taking South America by storm…

The Latina singers and their fellow Fifth Harmony members have launched a well-crafted tour through South American that is slowly but surely building on the all-girl group’s growing Latin American appeal, taking them to Peru (June 22), Chile (June 24), Argentina (June 25) and, most prominently, Brazil, where they’ll play shows in five cities.

Fifth Harmony

“They’ve been stronger than we projected,” admits MOVE Concerts CEO Phil Rodriguez, who first brought Fifth Harmony to Latin America in 2014, when they played the Z Festival in Sao Paulo and Brasilia.

At that point, the group wasn’t even the festival opener; Austin Mahone was. Less than two years later, Fifth Harmony is almost selling out arenas.

“Sao Palo and Rio blew up immediately,” Rodriguez says. “They sold out in two, three days. In Chile, we originally put out 4,000 tickets [at Arena Movistar] and had to double the capacity.”

The tour was built on the success of those 2014 Brazilian dates, coupled with Sony’s push behind “Work From Home.”

Lima, Santiago and Buenos Aires were all brand-new markets for Fifth Harmony, as will be the Brazilian cities of Curitiba and Porto Alegre. To date, four out of eight Fifth Harmony shows are sell-outs, with most of them taking place at venues with a capacity of 4,500 to 5,500, except for Chile and Sao Paulo (7,500).

And while the quick sales did surprise Rodriguez, overall he expected good results.

“South America has always been a strong adolescent market,” says Rodriguez, who recently presented shows by Justin Bieber. In Argentina, for example, one of the strongest radio stations in the market is Radio Disney.

Beyond mainstream media, Fifth Harmony is an almost permanent Twitter trending topic in every market they touch. By 3 p.m. on Monday (June 27), for example, #5HnoBrasil (Fifth Harmony in Brazil), was the country’s top trending topic, with over half a million tweets.

#Welcometobrazilcamila — in reference to 5H’s Camila Cabello — was also a trending topic with over 10,000 mentions.

“Fifth Harmony is a classic case of an artist investing in the region and having management, agency, label and promoter work together to grow their market,” says Rodriguez.

Fifth Harmony Earns First No. 1 on Billboard Rhythmic Songs Chart

It’s a special accomplishment for Camila Cabello, Ally Brooke Hernandez and Lauren Jauregui

The Latina singers and their fellow Fifth Harmony members have earned their first No. 1 on a Billboard airplay chart as the all-girl group’s “Work From Home,” featuring Ty Dolla $ign, moves up 2-1 on the Rhythmic Songs chart.

Fifth Harmony

The song breaks a 15-year drought for girl groups atop the list. Not since Destiny’s Child crowned the list in 2001 with “Survivor” has a girl group reached the chart’s top spot.

Fifth Harmony becomes the 12th female group overall to top the chart, which was launched on October 3, 1992.

“Work From Home” reaches the top in its 10th charting frame, rising 18 percent in spins in the week ending May 8, according to Nieslen Music. The act had previously charted on Rhythmic Songs with “Worth It,” featuring Kid Ink, peaking at No. 19 in August, 2015.

The climb bumps rapper Belly from a three-week topping run with “Might Not.”

Between 1992 and 2001, these all-female groups led the chart with 21 total songs. Here are the 12 acts that have topped Rhythmic Songs (by number of No. 1s, then alphabetical):

5, TLC
3, Destiny’s Child
2, En Vogue
2, Salt-N-Pepa
2, SWV
1, 702
1, Blaque
1, Fifth Harmony (NEW)
1, Jade
1, Mokenstef
1, Spice Girls
1, Xscape

On the Billboard Hot 100 chart, Fifth Harmony scores its first top 5 as “Work From Home” hops 7-5, besting their previous No. 6 peak. An 8 percent climb at radio, to 10.5 million audience impressions, according to Nielsen Music, aids in the climb while 15.9 million weekly U.S. streams, through the week ending May 5, also contribute to the ranking.

“Work From Home” becomes the first top five Hot 100 hit by a girl group since Dixie Chicks‘ country hit “Not Ready to Make Nice” (No. 4) in 2007; the latter act offered its approval upon learning the stat, tweeting a hearty, “Congrats ladies!”

“Work From Home” is the first Hot 100 top five by a pop girl group since the Pussycat Dolls‘ “Buttons,” featuring Snoop Dogg (No. 3), in 2006.
