Trailer Released for “Creed III,” Featuring First Look at Canelo Alvarez in His Acting Debut

Canelo Álvarez is ready for his close-up…

The 32-year-old Mexican professional boxer, winner of multiple world championships in four weight classes, appears in the trailer for Creed III.

Canelo AlvarezAlvarez is making his acting debut in the feature film starring Michael B. Jordan.

For the latest edition in the boxing film franchise, Jordan says it was important to make Creed III more “honest to the sport of boxing” by incorporating elements of Mexican culture, with the participation of Alvarez.

The Mexican boxing star is one of the biggest names in the combat sport and predecessors like countryman Julio César Chávez helped raise the notoriety of the sport.

“We just looked back, you know, it’s the history of boxing, and the Mexican culture is such a pillar within the sport of boxing and felt like there wasn’t really a lot of representation throughout the films in that type of way. And it just didn’t seem like the reality I lived in. So I wanted to incorporate Mexican culture into this film,” Jordan said during a press conference, according to Slash Film.

Former boxer Tony Bellew was in the first Creed as Creed’s opponent “Pretty” Ricky Conlan. Now it’ll be Canelo’s time to get in front of a camera in Creed III.

Jennifer Lopez Partnering with Coach on New Campaign

“Put me in Coach,” says Jennifer Lopez

The 50-year-old Puerto Rican superstar and fashion icon has announced a hot new partnership with the fashion branch Coach.

Lopez announced the campaign on her Instagram, sharing her excitement for what’s to come with her 105 million followers.

“I’m so excited for this collaboration with Coach” she said. “It is a timeless brand that I’ve always been a fan of and the upcoming collection really speaks to my personal style –– an uptown downtown mix.”

Starting in spring 2020, Lopez will appear in ad campaigns for the leather goods, ready-to-wear and footwear company. The relationship builds on the long-time relationship between the two — Lopez carried Coach bags as early as her 2002 video “All I Have” with LL Cool J.

In the upcoming campaign, she’ll be shot by Juergen Teller, who’s captured the likes of Yara Shahidiand Jemima Kirkein iconic locations for previous Coach campaigns.

One year ago, Michael B. Jordanbecame the first global face of menswear for the Tapestrybrand and later designed a Coach unisex clothing line, which he told The Hollywood Reporter is “nostalgic, fresh, utilitarian and functional.”

A Bronx-born mother-of-two, Lopez has always stayed true to her New York roots, from her In Living Color days to her role as executive producer on films like Hustlers and 2020’s The Godmother

Like Lopez, Coach is New York through-and-through, founded in Manhattan 78 years ago. Coach says it selected Lopez to embody its value for self-expression.

“Jennifer is so authentic. She’s determined and she’s an original who has followed her own path to do things her own way — she really embodies the attitude of Coach and our new campaign,” Coach creative director Stuart Veverssaid in a statement. “She’s from New York like Coach, which creates another authentic connection with our heritage, and I’m particularly excited about bringing Jennifer and Juergen Teller together.”

Lopez will join fellow A-list ambassador and pop star Selena Gomez as part of the Coach family. Earlier this year, Lopez, together with her fiancé Alex Rodriguez, launched a collection of sunglasses with the brand Quay Australia, as well as her 25th fragrance called Promise.

Rodriguez to Appear on NBC’s “Running Wild With Bear Grylls”

Michelle Rodriguez is running wild

The 36-year-old Puerto Rican and Dominican-American actress and Fast and Furious star will appear on Season 2 of NBC’s Running Wild With Bear Grylls.

Michelle Rodriguez

Rodriguez, a self-confessed tomboy, will join famed survivalist Bear Grylls for two days for a one-on-one adventure to be filmed for the popular summer adventure series. No word yet on Rodriguez’s exploration.

Along with Rodriguez, other actors and athletes appearing in Season 2 include Kate Winslet, Kate Hudson, Drew Brees, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ed Helms, James Marsden and Michael B. Jordan will also join Grylls for an episode, according to the network.

Each of the actors and athletes will partner with Grylls for two days for a one-on-one adventure, tackling everything from skydiving to repelling as they journey through some of the world’s most unforgiving wildernesses.

This season will take viewers from the jungles of Panama to the far reaches of the Italian Alps and then to the Colorado Rocky Mountains and the Red Rocks of Utah.

Peña to Star in the Heist Thriller “Triple Nine”

Michael Peña is heading back to the force…

The 36-year-old Mexican American actor, who earned a Spirit Award nomination for his performance in the police drama End of Watch, will star in the heist thriller Triple Nine.

Michael Peña

Directed by John Hillcoat, the drama centers on a crew of dirty cops that is blackmailed by the Russian mob to execute a virtually impossible heist. The only way to pull it off is to manufacture a 999, police code for “officer down.” Their plan is turned upside down when the unsuspecting rookie officer they set up to die foils the attack, triggering a breakneck, action-packed finale filled with double-crosses, greed and revenge.

In addition to Peña, the film’s all-star cast includes Fruitvale Station’s Michael B. Jordan, Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul, Warm BodiesTeresa Palmer and Gal Gadot, 12 Years A Slave‘s Chiwetel Ejiofor, Casey Affleck and Kate Winslet.

Open Road Films, which just completed a deal to pre-buy domestic distribution rights on Triple Nine, plans to release the film in 2015.
