It offers a gripping portrayal of how a loosely affiliated group of private investors and internet trolls on a subreddit called WallStreetBets took down one of the biggest hedge funds on Wall Street, firing the first shot in a revolution that threatened to upend the establishment.

The script was adapted by Rebecca Angelo & Lauren Schuker Blum.

Principal photography is underway.

Marcello Hernandez will be working Saturday nights

The Cuban & Dominican American stand up comedian, writer and actor has joined the cast of Saturday Night Live as a featured player for Season 48.

Marcello HernandezHernandez joins a roster of new cast additions that includes Molly Kearney, Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker.

The Miami comedian was recently named a “New Face of Comedy” at the prestigious Montreal “Just for Laughs” festival.  And locals may know Hernandez from his work with Only in Dade. He was the creative director of their lifestyle page.

“This will be transition year,” Lorne Michaels said backstage at the Primetime Emmys, where SNL won the award for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series.

“Change years are always difficult but always exciting. There are new people. There are four new people, at least for now.”

The announcement comes after it was revealed in May that Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant and Kyle Mooney were leaving the show at the end of Season 47 along with Pete Davidson. It later emerged that Alex Moffat, Melissa Villaseñor, the first-ever Latina cast member, and Aristotle Athari would not be returning either.

SNL returns on October 1 with three consecutive shows.

Michaels added that the pandemic kept the large cast together longer than perhaps expected.

“The pandemic sort of interfered with the national order of things. I think there was a bonding; people got very close,” he added. “When we did those at-home shows, you got to see everyone’s apartment where and how they lived. There was an intimacy and connection between audience and group. I couldn’t imagine we could work without that whole team so we kept going.”

Saturday Night Live is produced in association with Broadway Video.

Kid Cudi Replacing Kayne West as Headlining Act at Rolling Loud Miami Festival

Kid Cudi is stepping in…

The 38-year-old half-Mexican American rapper, singer, record producer and actor has replaced Kanye West as the headlining act for Rolling Loud Miami.

Kid CudiCudi will replace Kanye West during the 3-day celebration after festival organizers announced Ye’s departure due to “circumstances outside the control.”

“Due to circumstances outside of our control, Ye will no longer be performing at Rolling Loud Miami 2022. Please welcome @KiDCuDi!” they shared via Twitter on Sunday along with the updated schedule for the festival.

Co-founders Tariq Cherif and Matt Zingler shared additional insight with Deadline regarding West’s departure.

“We were looking forward to Ye headlining Rolling Loud Miami 2022. We spent months working with him and his team on the performance. Unfortunately, Ye has decided that he will no longer be performing,” they said in the joint statement. :”This is the first time a headliner has ever pulled off our show and though we don’t take it lightly, we wish him the best. We look forward to welcoming Kid Cudi as a headliner in Miami and we can’t wait to see what he has in store.”

The swap is interesting because West and Cudi have extensive history together both professionally and personally.

West helped launch Cudi’s career as a producer signing him to his Good Music label in 2008. Cudi’s first three studio releases Man on the Moon: The End of DayMan on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, and Indicud were released under the imprint before his departure from Good Music in 2013 under good terms.

In 2018, the pair released a self-titled collaborative album as the duo Kids See Ghosts.

Their relationship became strained earlier this year following a public argument on social media that was reportedly connected to Cudi’s ongoing friendship with Pete Davidson, who is currently in a relationship with West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

In a since-deleted tweet, West posted a note on Instagram that read in part, “Just so everyone knows, [Kid] Cudi will not be on Donda 2′ because he’s friends with you know who.”

It’s unknown if the pair had mended fences following the melee.

Rolling Loud Miami will also feature Future and Kendrick Lamar as headliners on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The full updated lineup can be found below.

Atria Books to Publish Danny Trejo’s Memoir, “Trejo: My Life of Crime, Redemption, and Hollywood”

Danny Trejo is o-penning up about his life…

The 76-year-old Mexican American actor, whose credits include Desperado, Machete, From Dusk Till Dawn and Con Air, will publish his memoir with Atria Books, according to the publisher. Titled Trejo: My Life of Crime, Redemption, and Hollywood will be released on July 6.

Danny Trejo

The book will detail Trejo’s path from crime to prison, addiction, loss and unexpected Hollywood fame. With appearances in more than 300 films, the 76-year-old actor continues to book 10-20 roles a year. A 2020 Pete Davidson tribute to Trejo went viral.

“Danny Trejo is more than an actor for the millions of Mexican Americans, like me, who love him,” says Michelle Herrera Mulligan, senior editor at Atria Books. “He is a legend. A role model. The first Chicano action star. Someone we can always hold up as a hero who made it. One of my proudest acquisitions to date, this book shows us the difficult path it took to get him there, in unforgettable, literary detail.”

Trejo first used heroin at age 12, learning that loyalty only came through violence and peace was found in oblivion. For a period of time, he did stints in some of America’s most notorious prisons including San Quentin, Folsom and Soledad. Then he was offered a part as a boxer in Runaway Train, giving him the opportunity to choose a new path.

In Trejo, he describes how the difficult lessons he learned in childhood both saved his professional life and hindered his personal one, offering an inspirational and brutally honest look at his fascinating life. He shares how he rebuilt his life after finding sobriety and spirituality in solitary confinement and went on to become a success, hobnobbing with A-list celebrities and using his memories of his adrenaline-fueled robbing heists to inspire him as an actor.

“At 76,” Trejo says, “this memoir was an opportunity for me to be fearlessly honest for the first time about the terrifying brutality of my experiences in the hardest prisons in the world, the family secrets that tore lives apart, my personal bottom while I was in the hole in Soledad facing a possible death penalty charge, the role God played in turning my life around, my acting career that started at the age of 40 by simply showing up to a set to help another addict in need and how all of it shaped the person I am.”

Trejo is co-writing his memoir with his best friend of 20 years, actor Donal LogueTrejo will be published simultaneously in both English and Spanish and later will be adapted for a young-readers edition. The book also will be published simultaneously as an audiobook from Simon & Schuster Audio.

Atria Books is an imprint of Simon and Schuster.
