The 28-year-old Puerto Rican superstar revealed the name of his upcoming album in the most peculiar way: an ad of a 2019 Bugatti Chiron for sale.

Bad BunnyThe ad popped up in a Puerto Rican classifieds website with info on the car and the person who was selling it, which was Benito A. Martinez Ocasio (Bad Bunny’s real name).

Curious fans begin dialing the number listed on and realized they were calling to hear a snippet of a song and would later receive a text message with the name of the album.

“Hello! Thank you for calling. There’s little time left until the album comes out. I can’t say the date yet, but I can tell you the name: Un Verano Sin Ti.

The upcoming album will follow his 2020 set, El Último Tour del Mundo, which won a Grammy earlier this month for best música urbana album.

In January, El Conejo Malo hinted at his new album via a post on social media that opens with the “Safaera” singer and his girlfriend, Gabriela Berlingeri, having a romantic beach dinner and enjoying a conversation about his tour and the album.

“We need to start worrying less and enjoy life more because it passes by fast, very fast, just like the tickets selling out for El Último Tour del Mundo,” Bunny said. “I was thinking, ‘What if I announce my next tour?’ Therefore, while I work on my new album, which will come out this year, you can buy tickets for my next tour.”

Bad Bunny and his trek, El Úultimo Tour del Mundo, broke records across the country. The tour’s 35 shows grossed $116.8 million and sold 575,000 tickets according to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore.

That breaks down to $3.3 million and 16,400 tickets per night, or $4.7 million and more than 23,000 tickets in each market, considering he played multiple shows in eight cities.

That breaks down to $3.3 million and 16,400 tickets per night, or $4.7 million and more than 23,000 tickets in each market, considering he played multiple shows in eight cities.

The tour officially wrapped on April 3 in Miami, which he celebrated by dancing to “Safaera” in a pool of fans dressed in shark costumes.

That same night, he won the Grammy for best música urbana album for El Ultimo Tour del Mundo.

Tainy Named Latin Songwriter of the Year at BMI Latin Awards

The winners of this year’s BMI Latin Awards have been announced, with the 32-year-old Puerto Rican record producer, songwriter and singer taking home one of the coveted prizes.

TainyTainy was named the Latin Songwriter of the Year for his work on nine of BMI’s most-performed Latin songs of 2021, including the chart-topping hits “Caramelo,” “Dákiti,” “La Noche de Anoche,” “La Nota,” “La Santa,” “Safaera,” “telepatía,” “Un Dia (One Day)” and “Yo Perreo Sola.”

The Regional Mexican Songwriter of the Year award went to Mexican songwriter Jesus Omar Tarazón, who penned four of BMI’s most-performed Mexican music tracks of the past year, including “Altamente Probable,” “La Casita,” “Qué Maldición” and “Somos Los Que Somos.”

Bad Bunny and Jhay Cortez‘s chart-topping single “Dákiti,” penned by Tainy, Egbert Rosa “Haze” and La Paciencia, won Contemporary Latin Song of the Year.

Eslabon Armado’s “Con Tus Besos” nabbed Regional Mexican Song of the Year.

For the second year in a row, Universal Music Publishing Group secured BMI’s Latin Publisher of the Year award, with 19 of the most-performed songs — including “Bichota,” “Ignorantes,” “La Toxcica” and “Ritmo (Bad Boys for Life)” — among their repertoire.

During the ceremony, the legendary reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel were honored with the special BMI President’s Award for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the Latin music community, which span over 20 years and continue to influence the next generation of songwriters, according to the music rights organization.

In their speech, the duo explained that “before being successful, touching the sky, we had a dream of being great in the art. Many, many times strange moments, moments we don’t understand brought us here.” Wisin continued, “I want to congratulate everyone who, one way or another, gets up every day intending to contribute to music and art because everyone of you is an important part of allowing thousands of people to live and support their families through art.”

Edén Muñoz & Manuel Turizo Named Songwriters of the Year at SESAC Latin Music Awards

Edén Muñoz and Manuel Turizo are sharing a special honor…

The 30-year-old Mexican singer, the charismatic lead singer of regional Mexican group Calibre 50, and the 21-year-old Colombian singer/songwriter have both been recognized as Songwriter of the Year at the annual SESAC Latin Music Awards 2021.

It’s the first time in awards history that the top award was presented in two categories — Regional Mexican and Pop/Latin Rhythm — and it underscores how both urban and regional Mexican music have taken a front seat in Latin music in the past year.

Muñoz won songwriter of the year in the regional Mexican category for the second time for songs penned both for Calibre 50 (“Barquillero,” “Solo Tú”) and for other groups, including Banda MS (“Cerrando Ciclos”) and Banda Carnaval (“Esta Vez Soy Yo”). All were recognized with SESAC Latina Performance Awards.

Muñoz’s publisher, Dulce María Music, won publisher of the year, Regional Mexican.

Turizo, who often writes with brother Julián and is known for his deep, velvety voice, won songwriter of the year, Pop/Latin Rhythm for the first time with his songs “TBT,” “Quiéreme Mientras Se Pueda,” “Te Quemaste,” “Pegao,” “La Nota” and “No Encuentro Palabras,” which were all recognized with SESAC Latina Performance Awards.

His publisher, Sony Sounds (Sony Music Publishing) won publisher of the year for the sixth consecutive year.

The song of the year award in regional Mexican went to Christian Nodal for “Se Me Olvidó.” The track peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart and spent 23 weeks on the chart.

In the Pop / Latin Rhythm category, song of the year went to Ñengo Flow for “Safaera,” the hit he wrote and performed with Jowell & Randy and Bad Bunny for Bunny’s hit album YHLQMDLG.

The track peaked at No. 4 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart.

Although these year’s winners will be announced on SESAC’s social media channels and website due to the pandemic, the organization has honored the best in Latin music every year for nearly three decades.

“There is no doubt that music makes our world a better place to enjoy life, helping us overcome any difficult situation like the one we are facing now,” said Celeste Zendejas, vice president of SESAC Latina. “Thanks to all our songwriters for capturing all their experiences and feelings in each song.”
