The 50-year-old Puerto Rican superstar, a nominee in the Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture category, has been added to the star-studded presenter lineup.

The 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Ricky Gervais, will air live from the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 5 at 5:00 pm PT/8:00 pm ET on NBC.

Jennifer Lopez Named GQ’s “Icon of the Year” & Graces the Magazine’s Men of the Year Issue Cover

There’s no doubt Jennifer Lopezis an icon… And now she’s been officially granted the title.

“As a movie icon, a global pop icon, and an internet-melting fashion icon, nobody owned 2019 quite like Jennifer Lopez,” reads the cover story on Lopez, who has earned Oscar buzz this year for her performance in Hustlers.

Lopez, who has continues her music career with new music in 2019, will co-headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show with Shakira in February.

J.Lois the eighth woman to be featured on the cover of GQ’s Men of the Year issue. She joins a roster of women that includes Serena Williams,Gal GadotShailene WoodleyRihanna, Mila KunisScarlett Johansson and Jennifer Aniston.

The Hustlers star spoke with Jessica Pressler, the New York magazine writer who wrote the original story that Hustlersis based on, about her prolific career.

“There is no reason to ever be ashamed of where you’re at. Not when you’re doing your best. Not when you’re in your best moment,” Lopez told Pressler. “There’s always gonna be people to tell you no. Or ‘You can’t.’ Or ‘You shouldn’t.’ It’s gonna happen. No matter what anybody says, you just have to still be like, ‘I’m still doing this. I’m still gonna succeed. I’m still gonna do my best.’ Defy the odds. Why not?”

Lin-Manuel Miranda to Perform at This Year’s Tony Awards

Lin-Manuel Miranda is making his triumphant return to the Tony Awards

The 37-year-old Puerto Rican composer, playwright, actor and singer will perform on Sunday’s Tonycast, almost one year after his hit Broadway musical Hamilton swept the awards.

The casts of Bandstand, Come From Away, Dear Evan Hansen, Falsettos, Groundhog Day The Musical, Hello, Dolly!, Miss Saigon, Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 and War Paint will perform during 71st Annual Tony Awards, which CBS will broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall from 8:00 to 11:00 PM.

There’s still no word on what Miranda will perform.

There will be additional performances by The Radio City Rockettes and Tony Award winners Cynthia Erivo (The Color Purple) and Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton).

There will be additional appearances by Scott Bakula, Sara Bareilles, Orlando Bloom, Rachel Bloom, Glenn Close, Stephen Colbert, Brian d’Arcy James, Cynthia Erivo, Tina Fey, Sutton Foster, Josh Gad, Whoopi Goldberg, Jonathan Groff, Mark Hamill, Taraji P. Although Midler will appear as a presenter in one of the acting categories, she is not scheduled to participate in the Hello, Dolly! segment, which will be led by co-star Hyde Pierce. The blockbuster production’s offer to present the title song, or another of Dolly’s show-stoppers, live via remote from the Shubert Theatre was declined by the Tony producers.

The ceremony will be hosted by Tony and Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Spacey.

The Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.

Louis C.K. to Host NBC’s Saturday Night Live in April

Louis C.K. is heading back to Saturday Night Live

The 49-year-old Mexican American comedian, actor, writer, producer, director, and editor will return as a guest host on the next new episode of NBC’s late night sketch comedy series, April 8.

The musical guest will be The Chainsmokers.

The line-up was announced on-air during Saturday’s episode hosted by Scarlett Johansson.

Louis C.K.’s SNL appearance follows the April 4 debut of Netflix stand-up special 2017.

He previously hosted SNL in March 2014 and November 2012.

The 47-year-old Spanish actor, who won an Academy Award for his role in No Country for Old Men, will serve as a presenter at the 89th Academy Awards on February 26.

Garcia Bernal, a Golden Globe-winner for Best Actor for his recently renewed series Mozart in the Jungle, joins a roster that includes Halle Berry, Jamie Dornan, Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Dakota Johnson, Shirley MacLaine, Kate McKinnon and Hailee Steinfeld.

Murciano to Star in Netflix’s Fantasy Cop Thriller “Bright”

The future’s so bright for Enrique Murciano

The 43-year-old Cuban American actor has joined the cast of Netflix’s ambitious film Bright, directed by David Ayer.

Will Smith, Joel Egerton and Noomi Rapace star along with Edgar Ramirez, Lucy Fry and Ike Barinholtz.

It’s a fantasy cop thriller set in a world where human and mythical creatures co-exist. Murciano plays Poison, the leader of a gang.

Production is underway on the Max Landis-scripted film.

Murciano was recently cast in Sony PicturesRock That Body, the R-rated female-driven comedy, which stars Scarlett Johansson.

That film, helmed by Lucia Aniello from a script she co-wrote with Paul W. Downs, hits theaters June 23.

On the television side, Murciano recently booked a lead role in TNT’s modern-day Civil War series Civil. Also, he’s had recurring roles on such shows as Starz’s Power and Netflix’s Bloodline.

The film has a June 23 release date with Lucia Aniello direcing a script she co-wrote with Paul W. Downs.

Murciano starred on Netflix’s Bloodline series. He currently has roles on Starz’s Power and SundanceTV’s Hap and Leonard, also has New Line’s Will Smith starrer Collateral Beauty coming out this year and just finished shooting the TNT pilot Civil.

The 37-year-old Panamanian American singer-songwriter, who is participating in Netflix’s animated Beatles-themed series Beat Bugs, is one of the featured artists on for amfAR‘s new AIDS benefit compilation, The Time is Now.

The 14-track, 1980s-inspired covers album will be released October 7 via Republic Records and Mass Appeal with proceeds benefiting AIDS research foundation amfAR.

The first track released from the set is Blacc’s bluesy cover of Michael Jackson‘s classic “Billie Jean.”

In addition to Blacc, the compilation album includes tracks by Phantogram, DNCE, LP, Theophilus London and more.

Among the songs featured on the new album are Tina Turner‘s “What’s Love Got to Do With It” revamped by DNCE, Dita Von Teese and Sebastien Tellier taking on Culture Club‘s “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me” and New Order‘s “Bizarre Love Triangle” covered by Sugar for Sugar, a band consisting of Scarlett Johansson, Julia Haltigan, Holly Miranda and Kendra Morris.

Saldaña to Serve as a Presenter at This Year’s Academy Awards

Zoë Saldaña is ready to take the Oscars stage…

The 36-year-old half-Dominican/half-Puerto Rican American actress has been added to the list of presenters for the 87th Academy Awards.

Following breakthrough roles in Center Stage and Crossroads, Saldaña went on to star in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. In recent years, she earned acclaim for portraying Nyota Uhura in Star Trek and its sequel Star Trek Into Darkness, as well as for her role as Neytiri in James Cameron‘s Avatar. Last year, she portrayed Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Other presenters include Oscar winner Octavia Spencer, Scarlett Johansson and Josh Hutcherson.

The Oscars will take place on February 22.
