It’s all about last night for Anya Taylor-Joy

Focus Features has released the official trailer for Last Night In Soho, starring the 25-year-old Argentine actress, ahead of a planned October 29 release in theaters.

Anya Taylor-Joy, Last Night in Soho

Edgar Wright’s psychological thriller just had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival.

Written by Wright and Krysty Wilson-CairnsLast Night In Soho stars Thomasin McKenzie as Eloise, an aspiring fashion designer who is somehow able to enter the 1960s where she encounters a dazzling wannabe singer, Sandie (Taylor-Joy). But the glamour is not all it appears to be and the dreams of the past start to crack and splinter into something far darker.

Matt Smith, Terence Stamp, Diana Rigg, Rita Tushingham, Michael Ajao and Synnøve Karlsen also star in the filc, which is produced by Nira Park, Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Laura Richardson and Wright.

Wright took to Twitter ahead of the film’s Lido world premiere on Saturday to plead with the gala crowd not to spoil the movie for others, writing that the cast and crew “would love to ask you, our first viewers, to keep the secrets within so that others can discover them later. When writing about the film, we’d love everyone who sees it to discover the story along with Eloise. So, please, if you can, keep the experience intact for future audiences so that what happens in ‘Last Night in Soho,’ stays in Soho….”

He said: “In ‘Last Night in Soho,’ our heroine Eloise goes on a journey. First from the country to the city, and then to another time. I would love the audience to go on that journey too when the film opens on October 29th. We purposely pushed the film back to this autumn date, not just so that it can hopefully be enjoyed on the biggest screen possible, but also so the nights would be longer and the audience could go in cold… literally.

Fox Eyeing Season 2 Order for Roselyn Sanchez’s Drama Series Reboot of “Fantasy Island”

Roselyn Sanchez may not be leavin’ the Island anytime soon…

Fox is is considering a second season of its summer drama series Fantasy Island, starring the 48-year-old Puerto Rican actress/singer.

Roselyn Sanchez

The series is a reboot of the 1977 original.

Fox Entertainment President Michael Thorn has told Deadline that as its “first real, recent attempt at a cost effective” drama series, the network and producers Sony Pictures Television are “really proud of it”.

Thorn said that the series, which premiered to a 0.4 in 18-49 and 1.97 million viewers, “held its own this summer.” “We’re really high on it and it’s been exciting for us to cross pollinate some of the stars that we have in other series and do other exciting turns on Fantasy Island. We definitely see a potential second season and it’s something that we’re talking about now. We’re very pleased with the show and Liz [Craft] and Sarah [Fain] did a very good job,” he said,

Sanchez stars as Elena Roarke, a descendant of the original series’ enigmatic Mr. Roarke, in the series, which premiered on August 10.

Set at a luxury resort, where literally any fantasy requested by guests is fulfilled, although they rarely turn out as expected. The resort is run by Elena Roarke (Sanchez) who set aside her own ambitions, and even the love of her life, to uphold her family’s legacy. Sophisticated, insightful and always charming, Elena’s calm exterior masks the challenges of the responsibilities she has assumed as steward of this mysterious island.

Kiara Barnes plays Ruby Okoro, a young woman with an old soul who arrives on Fantasy Island with a terminal illness, and is given a new lease on life there, while heavily recurring John Gabriel Rodriquez plays pilot Javier, who also is the head of island transportation and a jack of all trades.

The reboot keeps the semi-anthological format of the original Fantasy Island with three main characters played by Sanchez, Barnes and Rodriquez, who live/work on the island with new guests arriving in every episode.

From writer-producers Craft and Fain, it’s produced by Sony Pictures Television and its Gemstone Studios label, which co-produce with Fox Entertainment.

The original 1977 series, created by Gene Levitt and executive produced by Aaron Spelling and Leonard Goldberg, starred Ricardo Montalbán as Mr. Roarke and Hervé Villechaize as his assistant Tattoo as they grant guests so-called “fantasies” on the island for a price.

With the new chart-topper, J Balvin earns his 31st No.1 on the chart, tying him with Enrique Iglesias for the most leaders in the chart’s history.

Meanwhile, Skrillex secures his first No. 1 on any Latin airplay chart.

“In Da Getto” takes over the 26-year-old tally with a 15% gain in audience impressions, to 12.4 million, earned in the week ending September 5, according to MRC Data.

J Balvin’s collection of Latin Airplay No. 1s dates back to 2014, when he sent “6 AM,” the fourth single from his La Familia album to the summit –his breakthrough set which earned him a first top 10 on the overall Top Latin Albums chart (October 2014).

With the ‘90s dance interpolated “In Da Getto” taking over atop Latin Airplay, J Balvin ties Enrique Iglesias’ all-time No. 1 record, a mark Iglesias has held since 1996 as he placed five simultaneous tracks from his self-titled debut effort atop the all-genre Latin tally (“Si Tú Te Vas,” ‘Experiencia Religiosa,” “Por Amarte,” “No Llores Por Mi,” and “Trapecista”).

“In Da Getto” turns out to be profitable for the EDM DJ/ producer Skrillex having previously scored his first top 10 on the airplay-, digital sales, and streaming-blended Hot Latin Songs chart when the club banger debuted at No. 7 (dated July 17). It concurrently earned him a first No. 1 on any Latin chart with the track dominating the Latin Digital Song Sales on the same chart week.

The Skrillex and Tainy-produced tune also takes home the Greatest Gainer/Digital honors on Hot Latin Songs jumping three rankings (10-7) with close to 1,500 downloads sold, up 59%, logged in the week ending September 2.

On the streaming front, the track posts a 28% gain to 3.42 million U.S. streams, and re-enters Latin Streaming Songs at No. 12.

“In Da Getto” follows J Balvin’s one-week Latin Airplay reign of “AM,” with Nio García and Bad Bunny (July 10). In total, he’s placed four No. 1s in 2021, all through collaborations except for “Tu Veneno” (April 3-dated list), his ninth ruler as a solo act among his 31 chart toppers.
