It’s a sugary sweet moment for Mariah Carey.

The 56-year-old half-Venezuelan American Grammy-winning songstress has joined voices with Shenseea and Kehlani to release her latest single “Sugar Sweet.”

Mariah Carey

It’s the second single released ahead of Carey’s 16th studio album Here For It All, which will be released on September 26 via gamma.

In June, she shared the lead single “Type Dangerous,” as well as an accompanying remix EP featuring collaborations with Busta Rhymes, Method Man and Red Man; Big Sean; DJ Snake and Luísa Sonza.

“Type Dangerous,” which samples Eric B. & Rakim‘s 1986 track “Eric B. Is President,” became her 50th Billboard Hot 100 hit, reaching No. 95.

It also entered the top 10 of R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay.

At the start of this month, the elusive chanteuse revealed she had finished Here For It All during a sit-down interview with Zane Lowe and Ebro Darden at the new Apple Music Studios in Los Angeles during a special live broadcast to celebrate the streaming platform’s 10th anniversary.

Mimi said she was “very excited” about “Sugar Sweet” because “it’s very summery. I like the beat as well.” She also revealed that Here For It All will feature 11 or 12 songs, including “some Mariah ballads.”

Here For It All will arrive seven years after her last studio album, Caution. The 10-track project featured collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign, Slick Rick and Blood Orange and Gunna.

It reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and earned MC her eighth No. 1 project on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.

Mariah Carey Announces Plans to Release New “Sugar Sweet” Single

Mariah Carey is preparing to release a sweet surprise….

The 56-year-old half-Venezuelan American Grammy-winning songstress has released a video on social media announcing plans to release a new single, “Sugar Sweet,” in the near future.

Mariah CareyIn the social media clip catered for fans, she fixes her gaze on the camera with a knowing smile and mouths the lyrics to a new tune.

Dressed in bubblegum pink, the star previews a sweet hook that has her singing, “Imma keep it nice, Imma keep it neat, Imma keep it sugar, Imma keep it sweet.”

No release date or further details have emerged about “Sugar Sweet,” but assuming the single arrives soon, it’ll be the follow-up to “Type Dangerous,” which just got a remix EP release featuring collaborations with Big Sean, DJ Snake, Method Man and more.

Both tracks would likely find a place on Carey’s as-yet-untitled 16th studio album.

Fortunately for eager fans awaiting Carey’s first full-length studio project since 2018, the new album is ready to go when she’s ready to reveal it.

“What is next? The album coming out. I don’t wanna tell too much about it because I just don’t want to reveal the whole thing. It’s finished,” she confirmed in an Apple Music interview last month. In that conversation, she also left a hint that “Sugar Sweet” was on the way, adding that “a second single is coming soon. I’m very excited about it. It’s very summery. I like the beat as well.”

Jessie Reyez Releases Highly Anticipated New Album “Paid in Memories”

Jessie Reyez is makin’ new memories

The 33-year-old Colombian singer, who was born and raised in Canada, has released her longawaited album Paid in Memories.

Jessie ReyezThe album includes collaborations with Lil’ Wayne, Lil Yatchy, Ari Lennox, Miguel, Big Sean, 6lack, and Deyaz.

“My relationship with success has been a little convoluted for a long time. I was scared of it when I first got started in the industry.  It was an ongoing joke that I would give away a lot of my hits because I write a lot of music for other people as well. To be honest, maybe they were right. But the operative word here is WERE. I’ve done un-packing; some of it has to do with being the underdog for too long, another has to do with not having been born rich and almost feeling like all of the success that I’ve been lucky enough to have feels like a jacket that was too tight. But I’ve been in the gym, I’ve been growing my biceps, I’ve been becoming more familiar with feeling at home. I’m reaping the fruits from the seeds I buried years ago. And I’ve been lucky enough that my success has not just come materially. I’ve been really fortunate that along with the heartbreak, I’ve had beautiful love stories. Along with people that I’ve lost along the way, I’ve had people that stuck it out with me. I’ve been paid in more ways than one, and luckily, I’ve been well paid in memories,” she said in a press release.

Known for her fearless and vulnerable lyrics, Reyez has an instantly recognizable voice that’s truly her own.

No longer reducing her aesthetic to chase success, she’s now writing about her experiences with heightened vulnerability and ultimately producing the best songs of her career.

NYB,” “BEGGIN 4 LUV” and the 6lack team-up “6LESSINGS” are immediate highlights.

Jhené Aiko Teams Up with Big Sean to Reenact 90s Black Rom-Coms in “Body Language” Music Video

Jhené Aiko has a new body of work…

The 32-year-old part-Spanish and part-Dominican American singer – who earned three Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year for her latest studio album Chilombo – has joined voices with Big Sean and Ty Dolla $ign for the cinematic music video to their single “Body Language.”

Jhené Aiko, Big Sean

The mini-film shows the real-life couple (Aiko & Big Sean) taking on the roles of iconic onscreen duos from ’90s Black romantic comedies, from Tupac and Janet Jackson in Poetic Justice (1993) to Larenz Tate and Nia Long in Love Jones (1997). Aiko also serves big Angela Bassett energy from Waiting to Exhale (1995) when she burns her ex’s car with his clothes inside. And of course, the featurette has pop and R&B music’s favorite featured star Ty Dolla $ign popping up in each scene while he narrates the chorus.

“Big homage paying to a few of my favorite flicks growin up,” Big Sean wrote on Instagram about the movies he referenced in his music video.

Seems like Aiko did Jackson justice after the pop icon shared a still of the R&B singer’s portrayal of her Poetic Justice character on her Instagram Story with a heart emoji. “Thank you legend!!” Big Sean wrote back while resharing her IG Story with a goat emoji to symbolize that she’s the greatest of all time, or the G.O.A.T.

And the Chilombo singer’s nod to Waiting to Exhale came right around the time of the film’s 25th anniversary on Tuesday, December 22, which Bassett celebrated by posting a still from the same fiery scene on Instagram coincidentally on the same day of the music video’s release. “I didn’t plan that! Wow!” Big Sean mused on his own IG Story while resharing the actress’ post. “We did this scene in the video n dropped the same day! God will do it!”

“Body Language” is off the Detroit rapper’s fifth studio album Detroit 2, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in September.

Jhené Aiko Releases Emotive New Track “Triggered”

Jhené Aiko is triggered…

The 31-year-old part-Spanish and part-Dominican American singer has released her first musical offering of 2019 in the form of the emotive “Triggered” freestyle.

A dark accompanying visual sees Aiko staring into the abyss while pouring her soul out around some rocky terrain.

Aiko explained what kind of headspace she was in that led to the song’s creation on Twitterearlier this week.

“One night I was so deep in my feelings, I was afraid of what I might do. I didn’t want to revert to the same bad habits that have set me back time and time again,” she wrote. “I realized that instead of running away from my emotions… I needed to sit with them, express myself and say whatever came to mind. It was healing to say the least… and now I feel a bit more free.”

Fans immedieately started to speculate that she was addressing her contentious breakup with ex-boyfriend Big Sean, especially since she specifically used the word “trigger” regarding Sean Don when sending him love under one of his IG posts last month.

“You are so special. To me. To the world. While we’re both still on this planet I just want to say… I love you beyond measure. Even tho I get big mad and u trigger the fuck out of me. U make me feel. And I appreciate that,” Aiko stated. “Because I thought I was dead inside. My ego has no say when it comes to you. And my heart has been broken a thousand times just to expand. It always finds room for you.”
