The 48-year-old Colombian Grammy-winning superstar has achieved another milestone with her successful Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, reaching one million tickets sold in Mexico, per promoter OCESA.

Shakira“This is an unprecedented figure and a statement of impact as powerful as the historic record of her 12 sold-out dates at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City,” OCESA said in a press release. “One million tickets… in a country of 129 million inhabitants!”

The historic figure is the result of the 26 concerts that the Colombian superstar has included in total in the Latin American country, divided in two phases.

After making history in March with seven consecutive sold-out shows at Estadio GNP Seguros, the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour will return to the Mexican capital for another series of five concerts on August 26, 27, 29, and 30, and on September 18, for a total of 12.

This will make Shakira the first artist to achieve such a number of dates in this major venue (formerly known as Foro Sol).

The singer and songwriter, who has been adding dates to the tour as tickets continue to sell out, will soon surpass the nine shows at Estadio GNP Seguros by Grupo Firme, which so far is the group with the highest number of performances already held there.

Before that, Shakira will perform on August 11 at Estadio Caliente in Tijuana, Baja California; on August 14 at Estadio Héroes de Nacozari in Hermosillo, Sonora; on August 17 at Estadio UACH in Chihuahua; and on August 20 at Estadio Corona in Torreón, Coahuila.

The success of her monumental stadium tour has led the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer to top Billboard Boxscore’s mid-year ranking, grossing $130 million as of June.

With the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, Shakira has left an indelible mark on Latin America, bringing together more than one million spectators, according to OCESA.

The Barranquilla-born artist was also named the No. 1 star among Billboard’Best 50 Female Latin Pop Artists of All Time in March.

The 48-year-old Colombian singer, dancer, and songwriter has announced two new dates for the second leg of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour in Mexico.

ShakiraThe first will take place on September 18 at Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros. The second will mark her first-ever performance in the state of Veracruz, where she’ll perform at the Estadio Luis Pirata Fuente on September 24.

With the new dates, Shakira further breaks her own record of shows in Mexico on a single tour — now reaching a total of 28 on this trek.

“With the announcement of this new date, the Colombian singer solidifies herself as the artist with the most concerts at the iconic Estadio GNP Seguros,” promoter OCESA said in a press release.

“My beautiful Mexico! 12 shows at Estadio GNP! Thank you, thank you, and thank you again for continuing to break records with me. See you soon. I love you!!” Shakira wrote in an Instagram post, where she appears posing with a plaque of recognition from OCESA for her new milestone.

The second leg of her 2025 trek in Mexico kicks off on August 11 at the Estadio Caliente in Tijuana, Baja California, and continues on August 14 at the Estadio Héroes de Nacozari in Hermosillo, Sonora; August 17 at the Estadio UACH in Chihuahua, and August20 at the Estadio Corona in Torreón, Coahuila.

The success of Shakira’s monumental tour has led the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer to top Billboard‘s monthly Top Tours ranking for the first time, generating $32.9 million with 282,000 tickets sold in February, according to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore.

The following month, she again led the chart and broke records by earning $70.6 million from 11 reported shows — more than any artist has ever generated in a single March since the ranking’s launch in 2019.

Shakira’s tour has left an indelible mark on Latin America, drawing more than one million fans, according to OCESA.

Also this year, the Barranquilla-born star was ranked No. 1 among Billboard’s Best 50 Female Latin Pop Artists of All Time.

Shakira will reach the historic milestone of eight performances at the venue (previously known as Foro Sol) over two separate phases of her tour. The feat surpasses shows by other international icons such as Paul McCartney, Metallica, Coldplay and Taylor Swift.

With this new show, Shakira brings the total number of dates on her first world stadium tour to 16 in the Latin American country.

“Shakira continues to make history in Mexico! Due to high demand, another date of the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour has been added at the GNP Seguros Stadium,” OCESA said in a statement.

Pre-sale for Banamex cardholders began Friday at 1:20 p.m. (local time), one day before the general sale.

Maná to Make Long-Awaited Debut at Mexico’s Vive Latino Festival

The legendary Mexican Grammy-winning Latin rock band will headline the 2024 Vive Latino Festival, the group’s debut at the emblematic rock festival.

ManaThe “Oye Mi Amor” band will co-headline the festival with Belanova, marking the group’s long-awaited return to the Mexican stages.

The varied Vive Latino lineup also includes Scorpions, Jorge Drexler, Silvana Estrada, Paramore, Greta Van Fleet, Fito Páez, Hombres G and Babasónico.

Taking place March 16 and 17, and held for the first time at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City (headquarters of Formula 1 and the Corona Capital Festival), the official announcement was made on Sunday, November 12 by OCESA via social media and the official Vive Latino page, where Internet users discovered who was part of the lineup through an interactive online game.

Bad Religion, James, Semisonic, Gogol Bordello, Mexican Institute of Sound, Los Lobos, Portugal. the Man, Junior H, The Warning and San Pascualito Rey are also part of the festival’s lineup, which will gather ’80s rock, ska, Balkan music, reggae, punk and metal bands.

Although Vive Latino has opened its doors to genres such as regional Mexican and cumbia, the music festival is one of the largest and longest running festivals dedicated to Latin rock, and currently the one with the longest tradition in Mexico with 24 editions held. Given its history, the presence of Maná for the first time was a pending issue.

“CDMX, see you soon,” expressed the quartet from Guadalajara, Jalisco, on its X account, in which the group shared the festival poster.

Belanova, on the other hand, will make its comeback to the Vive Latino stage after an almost six-year hiatus. Vocalist Denisse Guerrero, keyboardist Édgar Huerta and bassist Ricardo Arreola will arrive at Mexico City after their participation in the Bésame Mucho festival, in Austin, Texas, on March 2.

In its 2024 edition, Vive Latino joined forces with Amazon, which is already preparing several innovations for the festival through its technology and multiple services. Ticket presale for Citibanamex cardholders will take place at 2:00 pm (Central Mexico time) on Wednesday, November 15 through Ticketmaster Mexico.

Karol G to Make Three “Mañana Será Bonito Tour” Stops in Mexico in Early 2024

As part of its Latin American leg, the 32-year-old Colombian singer-songwriter’s Mañana Será Bonito Tour will make three stops in Mexico, starting February 8 at the capital’s emblematic Estadio Azteca, promoter Ocesa has announced.

Karol GAccording to Karol G’s official website, the other two dates scheduled in Mexico are February 16, at the Estadio Mobil Super in the northern city of Monterrey, and February 23 at the Tres de Marzo stadium in Guadalajara.

Pre-sale for HSBC cardholders for the Estadio Azteca show begins next Monday and Tuesday (October 23-24), and the following day they will be available to the general public at the venue’s box office or through Ticketmaster, Ocesa said.

The show at the Estadio Azteca will be produced by Ocesa and Westwood. The collaboration between both promoters had previously occurred last December, when Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny sang at the same venue.

The nicknamed “Coloso de Santa Úrsula” has room for about 83,000 people, according to its website. Among other stars that have performed there are U2, Madonna and Vicente Fernández.

The last time that “La Bichota” performed in Mexico City was in June 2022, when she gave two sold-out concerts at the Arena Ciudad de México, where she had RBD’s Anahí and Mexican rock band Café Tacvba as special guests.

Karol G’s upcoming shows in Mexico, after her successful U.S. stadiums tour, mark the beginning of a journey through 18 Latin American cities, including in her native Colombia, Peru, Chile, Guatemala, Argentina and Brazil.

Her previous arenas stint, the 2022 $trip Love Tour, became the highest-grossing U.S. tour by a Latina in history. It grossed $69.9 million across 33 shows in North America, according to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore, surpassing Jennifer Lopez’s $50 million on the 2019 It’s My Party World Tour and Shakira’s $28.2 million on the 2018 El Dorado World Tour.

Last August, Karol G was the first Latina headliner at Lollapalooza. She subsequently released her second album of the year, Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season), six months after Mañana Será Bonito, which debuted atop the Billboard 200 becoming the first No. 1 by a woman singing in Spanish in the history of the chart.

Alejandro Sanz Agrees to New Unorthodox Management Deal

The 53-year-old Spanish Grammy-winning singer/songwriter, one of the most iconic and influential artists in Latin music, is starting a new phase in his career with an unorthodox management agreement.

Sanz, who hasn’t had formal management in place since 2016, will now work with two separate executives, each of them focused on a different area of his career.

On the one hand, Alex Mizrahi, who heads management and promotion company OCESA-Seitrack, will now oversee Sanz’s international management and business. And Iñigo Zabala, the former president of Warner Music Iberia and Latin America, will oversee his recording career and creative output.

“There is strength in numbers,” said Sanz, explaining his decision to work with two separate entities. “I’m excited about this partnership with Álex Mizrahi and Íñigo Zabala. The three of us believe artists should develop in an ideal environment for creation, and I feel this connection between us will result in an evolved management model, where each of us brings his knowledge and experience to reach our common goals.”

With a 25-year trajectory under his belt that includes Spain’s two top-selling albums of all time, Sanz, signed to Universal Music, continues to be a touring and recording powerhouse.

“It’s hard to imagine anyone who hasn’t fallen in love, laughed or cried to an Alejandro Sanz song. The enormous power of his music goes beyond borders, ages and languages,” says Mizrahi, whose company – OCESA-Seitrack — is a subsidiary of Seitrack Management and live event giant OCESA.

On his end, Zabala’s ties to Sanz are tight; as a Warner executive, he signed Sanz to his first major record label deal over 20 years ago, and remained his friend even after Sanz moved to Universal.

“It’s an honor to collaborate again with Alejandro Sanz, whom I consider one of the best composers of all time. His influence on what is Latin music today can be felt everywhere,” said Zabala.

A four-time Grammy winner and 25-time Latin Grammy winner who was also the Latin Academy’s Person of the Year in 2017, Sanz is one of Latin music’s most celebrated and influential artists, both at a musical and political level.

Sanz was long-managed by Spanish manager Rosa Lagarrigue, but the two parted ways in 2016 in a split that ended up in a legal dispute.

Since then, Sanz has not had formal management, but had his own offices and management firm, MOW, which handles Spanish artists Nina Pastori and Pol Granch. Now, Seitrak will also have a hand in their management as well.

Mala Rodriguez is offering a special alternative for people stuck at home during this coronavirus pandemic.

The 41-year-old Spanish Latin Grammy-winning rapper will take this in this year’s Latin Alternative Music Conference, which will be held live online.

This year, the annual Latin Alternative Music Conference will officially kick off on Tuesday, June 9 withg a variety of virtual industry panels, workshops and showcases that will live.

Amid the global COVID-19 pandemic and as the nation begins to reopen gradually, the LAMC‘s five-day virtual conference includes timely panels like “The Future of Touring” with panelists Jordi Puig (OCESA), Phil Rodriguez (Move Concerts) and Sebastian De la Barra (Lotus Producciones).

And, “Mental Health and the Creative Community” presented by MusiCares and the Latin Grammys featuring Carla MorrisonKany GarcíaAna Tijoux and Guaynaa.

LAMC’s Talks with Billboard Latin will feature Leila Cobo‘s fireside chats with Walter Kolm and ChocQuibTown‘s GloriaGoyo” Martínez.’

Rodriguez will perform on June 9 as part of peermusic‘s showcase. Other participating artists include Thee SinseersGaby Moreno and Lido Pimienta.

Francisca ValenzuelaTatiana HazelLos Caligaris, among others will perform during the LAMC. 

On closing night, LAMC will celebrate Pride Month with performances by Kany García, MabilandCirco and Javiera Mena.
