Bruno Mars Earns 11 MTV Video Music Award Nominations

Bruno Mars is embracing the rule of eleven…

The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards nominations have been revealed, with the 39-year-old part-Puerto Rican multi-Grammy-winning singer/songwriter earning 11 nods, the most of any Latino artist.

Bruno MarsMars, a five-time MTV VMAs winner, earned nominations for his two recent chart-topping collaborations – “Die with a Smile” with Lady Gaga and “APT.” with Rosé – sometimes with both songs nominated in the same category.

Mars is up for Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration and Best Pop for both songs. That’s eight of his 11 nods.

Bad Bunny, meantime, has earned four nods.

The 31-year-old Puerto Rican Grammy-winning superstar, a two-time MTV VMAs winner, is nominated for Artist of the Year.

He’s also up for Best Latin for “Baile Inolvidable,” Best Album for Debí Tirar Más Fotos and Best Long Form Video for Debí Tirar Más Fotos  (Short Film).

Gigi Perez has earned her first MTV VMA nominations following her hit single “Sailor Song.”

The 25-year-old Cuban American singer-songwriter is up for Best New Artist, MTV Push Performance of the Year and Best Alternative for “Sailor Song.”

Maria Zardoya and her The Marias band mates have earned their first-ever MTV VMA nominations.

In addition to Best New Artist, Zardoya and her band mates are up for Best Alternative for “Back to Me.”

Selena Gomez has earned two nods…

The 33-year-old Mexican American singer is up for Best Collaboration for her single with Benny Blanco, “Sunset Blvd,” as well as Video for Good for her Benny Blanco-collab “Younger and Hotter Than Me.”

Daniela Avanzani and her KATSEYE members have earned their first nod.

The Venezuelan and Cuban singer and her mates are up for MTV Push Performance of the Year for “Touch.”

Mariah Carey earned one nod this year.

The 56-year-old half-Venezuelan American Grammy-winning singer/songwriter is up for Best R&B for “Type Dangerous.”

Meanwhile, the Best Latin category features major Latin superstars beyond Bad Bunny.

The other nominees include; J Balvin (“Rio”), Karol G (“Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido”), Peso Pluma (“La Patrulla”), Rauw Alejandro & Romeo Santos – (“Khé?”) and Shakira (“Soltera“).

The Moonman statuettes will be handed out during the VMAs ceremony on September 7 at the USB Arena in New York City. CBS and MTV will simulcast the event live, and Paramount+ will stream it.

Karol G Earms 19th No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay Chart with “Latina Foreva”

Karol G is a foreva chart-topper…

The 34-year-old Colombian Grammy-winning singer/songwriter’s latest single “Latina Foreva” rises 2-1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart for its first week at the helm of Billboard‘s overall Latin radio ranking dated July 26.

Karol GKarol G strengthens her hold on the second-most No. 1 titles among women, raising her total to 19 champs. Shakira continues at the helm with 24 No. 1s.

“Latina Foreva” rises with 8.9 million audience impressions earned in the United States in the tracking week ending July 17, according to Luminate. That’s a 14% gain across Latin radios from the week prior.

The song becomes the second chart-topping single from her latest No. 1 album Tropicoqueta.

It follows “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido,” which ruled Latin Airplay for 27 weeks, the longest-leading No. 1 song in the history of the almost 31-year-old tally.

As Karol G collects her 19th No. 1 on the overall Latin Airplay chart, she cements her second-most wins among women, trailing only Shakira, who still holds the record for the most rulers by a female artist since Latin Airplay began in 1994.

Further, “Latina Foreva” is the 13th song by a female soloist, without a collaborator, to hit No. 1 on Latin Airplay in the 2020s decade.

Notably, six out of those titles belong to Karol G herself, while Natti Natasha is the only other woman to secure two rulers or more on her own this decade.

Karol G has lined up some Latin music A-listers for her next album…

The 34-year-old Colombian Grammy-winning superstar has revealed the full track list for her fifth studio album, Tropicoqueta, which comes out this Friday, June 20.

Karol G“Intense chapters, unexpected twists, endearing characters. This is the official Track Listing for this new story of my life!” Karol G captioned her post revealing her new tunes. “Each song has its own story. Each collaboration has its own reason.”

The 20-set album kicks off with “La Reina Presenta” and wraps with the title track.

The previously released “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” and “Latina Foreva” are part of the set.

The former, a sweet merengue single that Karol G dropped last summer, reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs, Latin Airplay and Tropical Airplay charts.

The tracklist reveals she reeled in key collaborators for Tropicoqueta, including Panamanian reggae plena artist Eddy Lover on “Dile Luna”; Mexican crooner Marco Antonio Solís on “Coleccionando Heridas”; Colombian pop star Greeicy on “Amiga Mía”; French-Spanish reggae star Manu Chao on “Viajando Por El Mundo”; and for a second collaborative effort, Mariah Angeliq on “FKN Movie.”

Notably, track No. 13 is empty, but if fans search for “Karol G” on Google, they will be led to a clue that hints it could be another collaboration with Feid, following their 2021 “FRIKI.” (Spoiler alert: The screen reads “canción 13 feat. ????” accompanied by a green heart.)

Tropicoqueta is set to be a nostalgic and personal project on which La Bichota recently said she’s “going back to the roots, to the songs I grew up listening to, to the sounds that made me fall in love with music.”

Myke Towers Earns 13th No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay Chart with Darell-Collab “Otra Noche”

It’s Lucky No. 13 for Myke Towers.

The 31-year-old Puerto Rican rapper and singer has secured his 13th No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart as “Otra Noche,” featuring Darell, surges 13-1 for its first week atop on the chart dated February 22.

Myke Towers, Darell, Otra Noche,It’s the biggest jump of 2025 so far, out of the four songs that have ruled the tally. 

“Otra Noche” rallies to the top after a 36% surge in audience impressions, to 7.8 million, earned in the U.S. in the Feb. 7-13 tracking week, according to Luminate.

The recent airplay boost for “Otra Noche” may be due in part to Towers’ upcoming participation at SBS’ Calibash festival on March 7, with SBS’ WSKQ (New York) among the biggest supporters of the song, with the most plays for the tracking week, while Univision’s WXNY (New York), KAMA (Houston) and KDXX (Dallas), and SBS’ WMEG (Puerto Rico) round up the top five stations by spin count.

As “Otra Noche” takes the lead, it ejects Bad Bunny’s “El Clúb” from No. 1 after two weeks in charge. The latter drops 4-1 with a 17% dip in impressions.

“Otra Noche” gives Towers his 13th No. 1 on Latin Airplay. He previously reigned with “La Capi” in May 2024. Darell, meanwhile, returns to the summit after five years; “Otro Trago,” with Sech, Nicky Jam, Ozuna and Anuel AA, ruled for one week in 2019.

As “Otra Noche” surges 13-1, it becomes the largest jump out of the four songs that have ruled Latin Airplay, and the only one to jump more than one slot to the top.

Shakira’s “Soltera,” Bad Bunny’s “El Clúb” and Karol G’s “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” all rose 2-1. The last song to have a larger jump to No. 1 came on the July 20, 2024, chart, when “Perdonarte Para Qué?” by Los Angeles Azules y Emilia climbed 15-1.

“Otra Noche” was the fourth single from Towers’ fifth studio album, La Pantera Negra, released August 2024 on Warner Latina. The album debuted at Nos. 7 and 2 on Top Latin Albums and Latin Rhythm Albums, respectively, last September.

Karol G continues making Latin music history…

Only two weeks after entering the record books with an unmatched 26 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart with “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido,” the 33-year-old Colombian Grammy-winning singer/songwriter has set yet another new record with the smash hit.

Karol GKarol G’s “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” adds a 30th week at No. 1 on the Tropical Airplay chart dated February 8, marking the most weeks atop the 30-year-old chart for any song. 

“Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido,” released June 21, 2024 via Bichota/Interscope/ICLG, reaches the record despite a 7% decline in audience impressions; that’s 8.8 million earned in the U.S. during the tracking week of January 24-30, according to Luminate.

With 30 weeks at No. 1, Karol ends a historic run for Prince Royce, who previously commanded the chart for 29 weeks when “Carita De Inocente” capped its reign on the October 17, 2020-dated ranking.

As “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” resets the longest-leading run on Tropical Airplay, here’s a look at the songs with the most weeks atop, since the chart launched in October 1994.

The 33-year-old Colombian Grammy-winning singer/songwriter’s “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” adds a 26th week at No. 1 on Billboard’s overall Latin Airplay chart dated January 25, breaking the record for the most weeks among all songs since the list launched in 1994.

Karol GThe merengue track surpasses the 25-week domination by Shakira’s “La Tortura,” featuring Alejandro Sanz, a record the song held since November 2005, when it outdid the 20-week mark by Son By Four’s “A Puro Dolor.”

“Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido,” released June 21, 2024, also remains as the top performer on the Tropical Airplay chart, where it has led the list for 28 weeks (of its total 31 weeks on the chart).

Karol G might also set a new record on the tropical ranking, as she is one week away from tying Prince Royce‘s record of 29 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 with “Carita de Inocente” in 2020. (It stepped aside for one week during its run atop the list, when Kyen?Es? sneaked-out one week atop the chart with “El Carnaval de Celia: A Tribute (La Vida Es Un Carnaval/ La Negra Tiene…)” in September 2020.

“Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido,” commands both Latin Airplay and Tropical Airplay despite a 13% decline in audience impressions, to 10 million, earned during the Jan. 10-16 tracking week in the U.S., according to Luminate.

The global hit gave Karol G her 18th No. 1 on the overall Latin radio ranking when it landed at the summit last July, the second-most among women, just behind Shakira who continues at the helm with 24 champs.

While “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” spent its last week on the multi-metric Hot Latin Songs chart on the January 11-dated list (due to the colossal take over by Bad Bunny’s new album), it also left a mark in 2024, tying with Xavi’s “La Diabla” and FloyyMenor and Cris MJ’s “Gata Only” for the most weeks at No. 1, all with 14 weeks at the summit.

Further, in addition to “Qlona,” with Peso Pluma (No. 5), Karol’s “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” became only the second song by a female artist to close in the top 10 on the year-end Hot Latin Songs chart in 2024, at No. 8.

Feid Earns 11th No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Rhythm Airplay Chart with “Sorry 4 That Much”

It’s Lucky No. 11 for Feid.

The 32-year-old Colombian singer, songwriter and record producer has earned his 11th No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Rhythm Airplay chart, and sixth this year, as “Sorry 4 That Much” rises 2-1 to lead the October 26-dated tally.

Feid“Sorry 4 That Much” leads thanks to a 6% gain in audience impressions, to 6.6 million, earned in the U.S. during the October 11-17 tracking week, according to Luminate.

As the song lands at the summit, it ejects J Balvin and Chencho Corleone’s “Polvo de Tu Vida” from the lead, after the latter falls with an 11% dip in audience, to 5.8 million.

Of the 16 No. 1s on Latin Rhythm Airplay in 2024, only five were by a soloist, unaccompanied by any other collaborator — including “Sorry 4 That Much.”

Karol G is waxing nostalgic… 

The 33-year-old Colombian Grammy-winning singer-songweriter has officially received two of her very own wax figures at the renowned Madame Tussauds wax museum.

Karol GKarol G was present at the recent grand reveal in New York City, where she reacted to her two figures: one that captures the Colombian-inspired outfit and signature blue hair that she rocked during her 2022 Coachella performance; the other is one of her looks from the “TQG” music video with Shakira, where she had her striking red locks.

“Wow, how impressive!” Karol said in a press statement. “My first impression was I love my smile, and the color of my eyes […] I hope when my fans meet the figures that it’s a manifestation for them that one day they will meet me.”

“Karol G is one of our generation’s greatest living Latina performers,” added Eliza Rose, marketing manager at Madame Tussauds New York. “Her figure is a beautiful addition to our museums, and a testament to her talent, influence and the love her fans have for her.”

The “Bichota” singer—who’s a 17-time finalist at the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards and whose “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” has spent 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart—joins Maluma, Anitta, Selena, Bad Bunny, Shakira and other Latin acts with their own wax figures.

Karol G is pulling triple duty…

The 33-year-old Colombian singer has attained a new milestone across the Billboard charts as her latest single, “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido,” lands at No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs and Latin Airplay charts, while ruling the Tropical Airplay chart for a second week, on the rankings dated July 29.

On the multimetric Hot Latin Songs chart, “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” ascends 2-1 with streaming and radio gains. In the tracking week of June 12-18, the song collected 12 million official U.S. streams, up 15%, according to Luminate.

The sum yields a 47-44 rise on the overall Streaming Songs chart, plus her ninth No. 1 on Latin Streaming Songs with the Greatest Gainer award of the week.

Despite a 1% slip in digital sales, “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” remains at No. 1 on Latin Digital Song Sales, with 1,000 downloads sold during the same tracking frame.

In the radio world, the song reinforces its position as a summer hit, lifting 2-1 on the overall Latin Airplay tally with an 8% gain in audience impressions, to 8.2 million logged in the tracking window.

There, Karol collects an 18th champ, placing her closer to her only female contender among acts with the most No. 1s: Shakira, who continues to rule among women, with 23 No. 1 songs since the overall radio ranking launched in 1994.

Diving further into the new champ, the merengue-based track wins a new term atop Tropical Airplay –and its fourth week in the upper region– after the song jumped 3-1 and Karol became the second solo woman to rule Tropical Airplay on her own this decade.

As if the new No. 1s weren’t enough, as “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” makes a splash across Billboard charts, Karol becomes the first artist to be No. 1 simultaneously on Hot Latin Songs, Latin Airplay and Tropical Airplay charts in over a decade.

The last artist to pull the trick was Romeo Santos when “Odio,” featuring Drake, took over the three charts on the May 10, 2014-dated recap.

Notably, just seven months prior, Santos also seized the No. 1 slot across the three surveys with the ubiquitous “Propuesta Indecente,” on the chart dated Oct. 5, 2013.

Preceding Santos, four other artists accomplished the multilateral ruling in 2013 through three songs: Prince Royce with “Darte Un Beso” (Sept. 7, 2013), Marc Anthony through “Vivir Mi Vida” (11 weeks at No. 1, June 1-Aug. 10, 2023-dated lists), and Tito El Bambino and El Patron by “Por Qué Les Mientes,” where Marc is also featured (Jan. 19, 2013).

With “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” hitting No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs, Karol G racks up another chart-topper unaccompanied by another artist – a rarity for a female act. On the airplay-, streaming data- and digital sales-blended list, only three women have ruled the 50-deep tally on her own since 2010.

Beyond its Latin charts’ coronation, “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” makes worldwide improvements, moving from No. 7 to its new No. 5 peak on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. tally, with 53.8 million non-U.S. weekly streams, up 10%.

On the Billboard Global 200, the song boasts 65 million worldwide streams, but slips 12-13 despite a 10% gain.
