Bizarrap & Quevedo’s “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52” Earns Fourth Week at No. 1 on Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Chart

The 23-year-old Argentinian record producer and DJ’s collaboration with Quevedo, Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52,” has notched a fourth consecutive and total week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. survey.

Harry Styles’ “As It Was” holds at No. 2 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, following a record 13 weeks at No. 1; Bad Bunny and Chencho Corleone’s “Me Porto Bonito” is steady at No. 3, after reaching No. 2; Bad Bunny’s “Tití Me Preguntó” repeats at its No. 4 best; and Rosalía’s “Despechá” rises 6-5 in its second week on the chart, led by 41.6 million streams, up 17%, outside the U.S., becoming the Spanish singer-songwriter’s first top five hit among three top 10s.

The chart, which began in September 2020, ranks songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by Luminate. The Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the U.S.

Chart ranks are based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, as well as download sales, the latter of which reflect purchases from full-service digital music retailers from around the world, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites excluded from the charts’ calculations.

The 28-year-old Puerto Rican superstar’s smash album Un Verano Sin Ti has overtaken Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Encanto soundtrack as the most popular album of 2022, according to Luminate.

Bad BunnyReleased on May 6, Un Verano Sin Ti has now earned 1.606 million equivalent album units in the U.S., through the week ending July 21. It surpasses the Encanto soundtrack, which is now the year’s No. 2 most popular set, with 1.565 million units earned in 2022.

Earlier in July, when Luminate (whose data powers Billboard’s charts) released its midyear data (reflecting the tracking period of December 30, 2021-June 30, 2022), Encanto was the top album, while the all-Spanish-language Un Verano Sin Ti was the second-biggest set.

Equivalent album units comprise traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sales, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album, or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official and audio streams generated by songs from an album.

Un Verano Sin Ti has spent six nonconsecutive weeks atop the weekly Billboard 200 albums chart, including the latest tally, dated July 30. Further, it has earned over 100,000 units in each of its first 11 weeks of release – the first album to do so since Adele’s 25 saw its first 14 weeks all exceed 100,000 units (December 12, 2015-March 12, 2016-dated charts).

Additionally, Un Verano Sin Ti has spent its first 11 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart in the top two, dating to its debut atop the May 21, 2022, tally. The last album to start off as strong was Drake’s Views, which spent its first 17 weeks in the top two (May 21-September 10, 2016-dated charts).

Notably, 25 and Views finished as the most popular albums of 2015 and 2016, respectively, by units earned.

Un Verano Sin Ti has also generated four top 10-charting songs on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart (which blends streaming, airplay and sales data to rank the 100 most popular songs of the week in the U.S.). One of those four top 10 hits, “Me Porto Bonito,” with Chencho Corleone, hit No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart dated July 30, becoming the first all-Spanish-language No. 1 in the chart’s nine-year history.

Meanwhile, Un Verano Sin Ti marks the second all-Spanish-language album to reach No. 1 on the 66-year-old chart. The first was Bad Bunny’s last LP, 2020’s El Último Tour del Mundo. As the latter led for a week, the former is the first such set to reign for multiple weeks.

The soundtrack to Disney’s Encanto debuted, at No. 197, on the Dec. 11, 2021-dated Billboard 200 and has spent nine weeks at No. 1, in January-March, and ranked in the chart’s top 40 each week starting with the January 8 ranking.

Chencho Corleone Earns First No. 1 in a Lead Role on a Billboard Radio Chart with “Desesperados” with Rauw Alejandro

The 43-year-old Puerto Rican singer, composer and actor has earned his first No. 1 in a lead role on a Billboard radio chart as “Desesperados,” with Rauw Alejandro, tops the Latin Airplay chart dated July 2.

Chencho Corleone“Desesperados,” promoted to radio through Duars/Sony Music Latin, rises 4-1 it its 14th week thanks to a 22% boost in audience impressions, to 10.6 million, earned in the U.S. in the week ending June 26, according to Luminate.

The track displaces another Sony Music Latin title from the lead: Prince Royce and Maria Becerra’s “Te Espero,” sending it to No. 5 after its one-week reign.

While Corleone claims his best performance among three Latin Airplay entries, Rauw clocks his ninth No. 1, all earned within a two-year period, dating back to “TBT,” with Sebastian Yatra and Manuel Turizo, in July 2020.

The surge in “Desesperados” impressions gives the song its corresponding lift on Latin Rhythm Airplay, which measures the most-heard Latin rhythmic songs also through audience impressions metrics. There, the song jumps 2-1 in its 15th week.

The move also secures Corleone his first leader in a lead role on Latin Rhythm Airplay and second overall. His maiden champ arrived almost eight years ago, through his featured role in Tito El Bambino’s five-week ruler “A Que No Te Atreves” in September 2014. As the song held atop the survey in its third week, it concurrently topped Tropical Airplay for one week (October 2014).

Corleone’s chart rewards continue across Latin charts. His first collaboration with compatriot Bad Bunny has sustained his Hot Latin Songs domination for a seven-week run (and counting): “Me Porto Bonito” leads the all-metric tally (a blend of airplay, streaming activity, and digital sales) thanks to 22.7 million official streams, up 5%, in the week ending June 23.

While “Me Porto” holds strong at No. 1 on Latin Streaming Songs, it’s the only Spanish-language track in the top 10 on the overall Streaming Songs survey, at No. 6, among a collection of five Drake debuts and four other English-language songs.

In addition to its streaming count, “Me Porto” traces its Hot Latin Songs domination to 1,000 downloads sold. The song remains at No. 2 on Latin Digital Song Sales for a second week.

The 28-year-old Puerto Rican Grammy-winning rapper and singer has released the music video for “Me Porto Bonito” featuring Chencho Corleone.

Bad BunnyIt marks the third official clip from Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti’s “Moscow Mule” and “Titi Me Pregunto.”

Directed by Fernando Lugo, the video shows Bunny washing a pickup truck for two ladies who are making plans to go out at night, while Chencho is driving around town in a white car. The two artists then come together at a pool party where they are joined by the two ladies and a group of women.

The official video comes just three days after Bad Bunny teased fans with a short snippet on TikTok, in which he’s seen singing part of the song and then jumping into a pool full of people; this exact scene closes the video.

“Me Porto Bonito” has quickly become a fan favorite due to its ultra-hyped lyrics about feeling confident and beautiful. “You’re not a bebesita, you’re a bebesota,” says part of the lyric that’s going viral on social media.

The infectious track is a modern-day perreo fused with old-school party de marquesina beats, best combining Bad and Chencho’s essence.

According to Bad Bunny, the collaboration was recorded right after he attended the Met Gala in New York. He previously shared that he hit the studio in the same outfit and hairdo.

On the Billboard charts, “Me Porto Bonito” hit No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs chart-dated May 28, earning Bunny his 11th No. 1 and Corleone’s first champ. The song is currently in its fourth week at the top.

Lunay Releases Sophomore Album “El Niño”

The 20-year-old Puerto Rican singer, whose full name is Jefnier Osorio Moreno, has released his sophomore album El Niño.

The 15-song set, released under La Familia Records, Chris Jedi and Gaby Music‘s independent label, kicks off with the title track that samples Jerry Rivera’s 1993 salsa hit “Cara de Niño” and transitions into a Latin trap.

The set is also home to edgy perreos (“Vudú,” “Party DB”), solid reggaeton singles (“Le Gusta Que La Vean”), and even some slow-tempo urban bops (“TBC,” “Se Cansó”).

Standout tracks include his sultry collaboration with Anitta on “Todo o Nada” and the infectious “Otra No” with Bryant Myers and Zion.

Other features on El Niño include Chencho Corleone, Zion, Chanell, Giovakartoons, Juliito and Chris Jeday.

“I wanted to make an album before I was 21 to reflect everything that I am right now — what I’m living and what I’ve learned so far — making fun songs for the streets and the clubs, while still being El Niño inside and outside the studio,” Lunay said in a statement.

Interscope Records Signs Kevvo

Interscope Records, in partnership with Una Vision Quintana, Inc., has signed the 22-year-old emerging Puerto Rican singer and rapper, whose full name is Kevin Manuel Rivera Allende, according to Billboard.

“Hooking up with Interscope is a dream come true,” adds Kevvo. “They completely understand and support our vision. They’ve also given me the freedom to do what I want, and I can’t wait for everybody to hear what we’ve got coming.”

Hailing from Toa Baja, Puerto Rico, Kevvo has been marking his territory in the Latin urban scene.

Most notably, Kevvo is known for his monster 2019 single “105F RMX,” in collaboration with ArcangelBrytiagoChenchoCorleone,DarellFarrukoMyke Towersand Nengo Flow. In less than a year, the music video has racked up over 212 million views at the time of publishing. 

Last year, Kevvo nabbed the award for top urbano Puerto Rico at Premios Tu Música Urbano.

Dalex Releases “Hola” Remix Featuring Lenny Tavárez, Chencho Corleone & Juhn

The 29-year-old Puerto Rican rrban singer  has relaunched his latest single “Hola,” this time with an assist from Lenny TavárezChencho Corleone and Juhn.

The original track belongs to Dalex’s debut album Climaxxx, released back in May. The lyrics tell the story of a boy who is reunited with a girl, and tries to seduce her as she did in the past.

While Dalex sings solo on the original, he’s joined by Tavárez, Corleone and Juhn for the upbeat remix. So far, the lyric video has gained more than 4 million views on YouTube.

Dalex, whose real name is Pedro David Daleccio Torres, was born in Philadelphia and raised in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico. He kicked off his music career in 2013 as part of the duo Jayma & Dalex, and in 2016 announced his move to go solo, under the wings of record label Rich Music.
