Cardi B Releases Booty-Bouncing New Track “Up”

Cardi B is ready to rise up the charts…

The 28-year-old half-Dominican American rap superstar has released her latest single, the booty-bouncing track “Up,” as well as the song’s steamy music video.

Kicking off the clip in a cemetery, Cardi B, clad in a black corset, bids last year a final farewell as she steps on a man laying on top of a “RIP 2020” burial plot.

And it’s all up from there.

There’s twerking, tongue kissing and titillating looks, with Cardi B announcing: “Bardi’s back, and all you bitches f – – ked.”

Cardi B announced her new single on Monday, sharing the cover artwork and writing, “LETS GOOOOOO!”

It’s the follow-up single to Cardi B’s last release was “WAP,” her blockbuster team-up with Megan Thee Stallion that topped the Billboard Hot 100 last August.

 

She was named Billboard‘s 2020 Woman of the Year in December, accepting the honor from Breonna Taylor‘s mom, Tamika Palmer.

This weekend, Cardi B will be featured in an Uber Eats Super Bowl commercial alongside Mike Myers and Dana Carvey for the return of their Wayne’s World characters.

Things are lookin’ up for Cardi B…

The 28-year-old half-Dominican American rap superstar, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, has announced plans to release brand-new single “UP” this Friday.

On Sunday, Cardi B tweeted a video with the caption “I got an announcement to make tomorrow” and a loud-speaker emoji, so it’s safe to say this was her big news.

In addition to the single news, Cardi B also linked fans to her webstore, where she’s selling a CD single of the new song.

Cardi B’s last release was “WAP,” her blockbuster team-up with Megan Thee Stallion that topped the Billboard Hot 100 back in August.

She was named Billboard’s 2020 Woman of the Year in December, accepting the honor from Breonna Taylor‘s mom, Tamika Palmer.

Cardi B is taking the lead…

The 28-year-old half-Dominican American rap superstar has landed her first leading big-screen role in the Paramount comedy Assisted Living.

The story, penned by Kay Oyegun, follows Amber (Cardi B), a small time crook, who finds herself in over her head when a heist goes wrong. On the run from both the cops and her former crew, she struggles to find anyone to take her in. Running out of options, Amber disguises herself as an elderly woman and hides out in the one place no one will look — her estranged grandmother’s nursing home.

Temple Hill and Stephen Love are producing.

The “WAP” rapper played a minor role in Hustlers, starring Jennifer Lopez. And, she’ll appear in the next installment of the Fast & Furious franchise, F9 (Fast & Furious 9).

On television, she served as one of the judges of Netflix’s Rhythm & Flow hip-hop competition series.

In music, Cardi B won a Grammy award for Best Rap Album for 2018’s Invasion of Privacy.

Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” Earns Fourth Week at No. 1 on Billboard Global 200

The 51-year-old half-Venezuelan American singer’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” remains the biggest song in the world, as it spends a fourth frame at No. 1 on the latest Billboard Global 200.

The chart’s streaming and sales tracking period encompassed December 25-31, and even with six days of measurement after Christmas, Carey’s 1994 holiday hit rules the Billboard Global 200 despite a 55% drop to 58.3 million streams and a 60% slide to 11,000 sold worldwide in the tracking week. The song was first released on her 1994 album Merry Christmas.

Carey unwraps yet another present, as “Christmas” now solely boasts the most weeks at No. 1 in the Global 200‘s brief history. It passes three songs that have each led for three weeks, including Bad Bunny and Jhay Cortez‘s “Dákiti,” which rebounds 10-2, and BTS‘ “Dynamite” (12-3). (The chart’s other three-week No. 1 to-date: Cardi B‘s “WAP,” featuring Megan Thee Stallion.)

Rounding out the Global 200’s top five, The Weeknd‘s “Blinding Lights” rebounds from No. 17 to No. 4, returning to its best rank, and 24kGoldn‘s “Mood,” featuring Iann Dior, jumps 15-5, after reaching No. 2.

Plus, Karol G earns her first Global 200 top 10, as “Bichota” climbs 21-9, with 63.6 million streams (down 8%) and 1,000 sold (up 6%) worldwide.

Cardi B isn’t afraid to try new things…

The 28-year-old half-Dominican American Grammy-winning rap superstar is inviting the world to experience new things alongside her with the new series Cardi Tries ___, which launched late last week.

From Facebook’s Messenger and Jesse Collins Entertainment, Cardi Tries ___ is part of Messenger’s new “Watch Together” feature, which allows audiences to enjoy Facebook Watch videos with friends and family in real-time. The new series has the “WAP” rapper trying new things outside of her repertoire including becoming an expert stunt car racer, ballerina, firefighter, teacher — just to name a few.

Throughout the series, she’ll be joined by actors, athletes and other professionals like Michelle Rodriguez of Fast & Furious fame, Debbie Allen of Grey’s Anatomy, Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers and country music singer and songwriter, Mickey Guyton, among others.

New episodes will drop Thursdays through February 4. Cardi B fans will be able to enjoy the show in real-time over video calls with friends on Instagram, Messenger and Messenger Rooms via Watch Together.

Executive producers are Cardi B, Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon and Patientce Foster.

Bad Bunny is bringing Dakiti back…

The 26-year-old Puerto Rican Latin trap & reggaeton singer’s hit single “Dakiti,” featuring Jhay Cortez, has returned to No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts.

“Dakiti” rebounds from No. 2 to No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 with 121.4 million streams, up 13%, and 3,000 downloads sold, down 8%, globally in the week ending December 3. The streaming sum is the third-best in a week since the chart began, trailing only the weekly highs for BTS‘ “Life Goes On” a week earlier (152.5 million, December 5) and BLACKPINK‘s “Lovesick Girls” (123.8 million, October 17).

“Dakiti” adds a third total week atop the Global 200, tying for the most time on top so far. BTS’ “Dynamite” and Cardi B‘s “WAP,” featuring Megan Thee Stallion, previously each led for three weeks.

Likewise the single leads the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, with 98.2 million streams, up 13%, and 1,000 downloads sold, up 2%, in territories outside the U.S. in the week ending December 3. The song leads the list for a fourth total week, second only to the five-week reign of BTS‘ “Dynamite,” which keeps at No. 2.

The two charts (the latest of which are dated December 12) premiered in September and rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by Nielsen Music/MRC Data. The Billboard Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the U.S.

Chart rankings are based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, as well as download sales, the latter of which reflect purchases from full-service digital music retailers from around the world, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites excluded from the charts’ calculations.

Bad Bunny’s album El Ultimo Tour del Mundo, which was released November 27 and includes “Dakiti,” soars in at No. 1 on the U.S.-based Billboard 200 chart with 116,000 equivalent album units, marking the first No. 1 album in the chart’s 64-year history sung entirely in Spanish. Also in the Global 200’s top 10, the set’s “La Noche de Anoche,” by Bad Bunny and Rosalía, debuts at No. 7 with 56.9 million streams and 2,000 sold globally.

Tinder has released “10 Essential Dating Anthems” of 2020, with the 28-year-old half-Dominican American rap superstar’s chart-topping single “WAP,” featuring Megan Thee Stallion, leading the pack.

With lyrics like “certified freak, seven days a week” it’s no surprise the raunchy song takes the top spot.

Drake‘s Lil Durk collab “Laugh Now Cry Later” follows “WAP,” likely for those moments when a match seems fun at first but then reveals something creepy about themselves.

DaBaby‘s “Rockstar,” Juice WRLD‘s “Wishing Well,” Jack Harlow‘s “Whats Poppin,” Drake‘s “Toosie Slide” and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage Remix” featuring Beyoncé also make the list, touching on the emotional rollercoaster that is the dating scene.

It’s only four months old, but Cardi B’s “WAP” music video is among this year’s YouTube stars.

The popular video streaming platform has released its complete list of videos that have dominated the year, with the 28-year-old half-Dominican American rap superstar’s jaw-dropping clip making the list of the most engaging music videos.

Cardi B’s “WAP” music video, featuring Megan Thee Stallion, comes in at No. 5. It was released on August 6, and has already garnered more than 299 million views.

Coming in ahead of Cardi B, 6ix9ine…

The 24-year-old Puerto Rican & Mexican American rapper/songwriter, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, comes in at No. 2 on the list with his “Gooba” video.

The music video was released on May 8. It has logged nearly 640 million views since its release.

Bad Bunny Wins First-Ever American Music Award Prizes of His Career

Bad Bunny is celebrating a big night…

The 26-year-old Puerto Rican Latin trap and reggaeton superstar took home two trophies at this year’s American Music Awards, the most of any Latinx artist.

Bad Bunny, who picked up the first-ever AMAs of his career, beat himself in the Favorite Album – Latin category. His second studio album YHLQMDLG, which became the highest-charting all-Spanish album ever on the Billboard 200 at number two when it debuted in February, won against his own Las que no iban a salir, the surprise follow-up album he released two months later. He also beat out Anuel AA’s Emmanuel for the coveted trophy.

Bad Bunny, who had to cancel his scheduled performance on the show due to testing positive for COVID-19, also won in the Favorite Male Artist – Latin category.

Becky G picked up her first AMAs trophy…

The 23-year-old Mexican American bilingual singer/rapper took home the award for Favorite Female Artist- Latin.

Becky G gave a heartwarming acceptance speech that celebrated her Mexican and immigrant heritage. She told fans she “proudly waves both flags Mexican and American.” She went on to dedicate the award to immigrant parents, students, and her abuelitos.

Karol G took home her first-ever American Music Awards prize – in the Favorite Song – Latin category – for her chart-topping “Tusa” single, featuring Nicki Minaj; while Cardi B won in the Favorite Song – Rap/Hip-Hop category for her Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper “WAP,” featuring Megan Thee Stallion.

Hosted by Taraji P. Henson, this in-person ceremony aired on ABC and was wildly socially distanced with cardboard cutouts of Beyonce, Jay Z, Dolly Parton and others in the orchestra section of the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, select masked fans who were tested for COVID and socially distanced were in the balcony of the theater to provide live energy to performers that included Jennifer Lopez, Billie Eilish, Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, Megan Thee Stallion, Dua Lipa, Katy Perry, Darius Rucker, BTS as well as the unexpected duet of The Weeknd and Kenny G.

Cardi B is WAP-ping up the year with a bang…

The 28-year-old half-Dominican American rap superstar has been named the 2020 Woman of the Year by Billboard.

Cardi B, who continues to thrive with her Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper “WAP,” a brand-new already-sold-out Reebok collection and her political activism, will be presented the award during Billboard‘s Women in Music event on December 10.

The 15th annual event will go virtual this year due to the coronavirus pandemic and will stream live here starting at 8:00 pm ET. The ceremony will be hosted by Teyana Taylor.

Jennifer Lopez will be honored with this year’s prestigious Icon Award for her impact on the music industry and the greater artistic community, joining previous recipients Alanis Morissette, Cyndi Lauper, Mary J. Blige, Shania Twain and Aretha Franklin.

Following the success of her sophomore album, Future Nostalgia, Dua Lipa will receive the Powerhouse Award, given to an act whose music dominated streaming, sales and radio this year.

Dolly Parton is 2020’s Hitmaker Award recipient. The honor recognizes a songwriter whose compositions have significantly impacted culture.

Chloe x Halle will receive the Rising Star Award, and Jessie Reyez will be honored with the American Express Impact Award.

Brianna Agyemang and Jamila Thomas, the trailblazing minds behind #TheShowMustBePaused movement following the murder of George Floyd, will be honored with the 2020 Executive of the Year Award.
