The 56-year-old half-Mexican American bassist and songwriter and his Metallica band mates will headline the second annual ATLive alongside George Strait on November 5-6 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Robert Trujillo & Metallica

Produced by AMB Sports and Entertainment and presented by Mercedes-EQ, Strait will be joined by Eric Church and Caitlyn Smith on November 5, while Cage the Elephant and Greta Van Fleet round out the November 6 lineup alongside Metallica.

In perhaps a first, Strait and Metallica’s Lars Ulrich appear “together” in a video promoting the festival.

The inaugural ATLive took place November 15 and 17, 2019 and drew more than 90,000 to the all country lineup including Keith Urban, Blake Shelton, Church, SugarlandSam Hunt and Luke Combs.

Like the 2019 concert, this year’s festival also has a charitable component with a portion of the proceeds going to the Strait-supported Military Warriors Support Foundation and Metallica’s All Within My Hands nonprofit.

“We are thrilled to be bringing ATLive back with an incredible lineup of artists,” said Tim Zulawski, SVP and chief revenue officer for AMB Sports and Entertainment in a statement. “From the beginning, our goal was to create a concert series that will become the must-see event for Atlanta. In our first year, we delivered a world-class experience for fans from across the world and we are excited to create that same experience again while giving back to our communities and those in need.”

Tickets go on sale July 16 via Ticketmaster.

Aislinn Derbez Joins Voice Cast of Netflix’s Animated Comedy “Back To The Outback”

Aislinn Derbez is headed Down Under

The 33-year-old Mexican actress has joined the voice cast of Netflix’s animated comedy film Back To The Outback.

Aislinn Derbez

She joins a cast that includes Isla FisherTim MinchinEric BanaGuy Pearce, Miranda Tapsell, Angus Imrie, Rachel HouseKeith Urban, Celeste Barber, Wayne Knight, Diesel Cash La Torraca, Lachlan Ross Power, and Oscar-nominee Jacki Weaver.

In the movie, tired of being locked in a reptile house where humans gawk at them like they’re monsters, a ragtag group of Australia’s deadliest creatures plot a daring escape from their zoo to the Outback, a place where they’ll fit in without being judged for their scales and fangs.

Leading the group is Maddie (Fisher), a poisonous snake with a heart of gold, who bands together with a self-assured Thorny Devil lizard Zoe (Tapsell), a lovelorn hairy spider Frank (Pearce), and a sensitive scorpion Nigel (Imrie). But when their nemesis — Pretty Boy (Minchin), a cute but obnoxious koala — unexpectedly joins their escape, Maddie and the gang have no choice but to take him with them.

The film is due to launch in fall 2021. The comedy adventure marks the directorial debuts of filmmakers Clare Knight and Harry Cripps, who penned the script.

Music will come from Rupert Gregson-Williams and songs will be by Minchin (Broadway’s Matilda). Animation and imagery will come from ReelFX.

Said director Knight: “I have always been touched by stories of hidden beauty. Maddie is both uniquely beauty and beast, and to get to present that message in comedy is the icing on the cake.”

Added writer-director Cripps: “Growing up in Australia, I spent a lot of time in the Blue Mountains which has many different types of snakes and spiders, and I always preferred them to the cute cuddly animals, so it’s such a treat to make a film where the heroes are these poisonous but beautiful little creatures. This film is a love letter to Australia’s incredibly diverse and unique wildlife.”

Intocable Offering Fans “Concert Meets Drive-In Movie” Experience This Weekend

Intocable’s showing the band’s drive

Keeping in line with their role as musical and industry trendsetters, the The Tejano and Norteño band from Zapata, Texaswill lead the return of live music in Texas following a more than two-month absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic with a drive-in concert on Saturday, June 6, 2020, in Poteet.

Intocable

The event is a “concert meets drive-in movie” experience, according to the group’s website, and Intocable’s lead vocalist/accordionist Ricardo Muñoz shared details about the event during several Instagram Live videos posted this week.

The informal videos, featured a bearded Muñoz, who at times puffed away on a cigar, as he addressed a wide and varied range of topics from the reason for the concert to the availability of portable bathrooms.

Muñoz, who spoke in Spanish, said the concert, which will be a full live audio and video production, is an opportunity to support the two-time Grammy-winning group’s behind-the-scenes staff and crew who have been grounded for months due to the coronavirus pandemic putting an end to live touring, and most importantly, to make music again.

Muñoz even discussed the issue of portable bathrooms in one video, encouraging concertgoers to limit their food and drink intake so as to avoid bathroom breaks and having to leave their vehicles.

Concertgoers could pay anywhere from $75 to $300 per car – with a maximum of four people per car – for the June 6 event which will enforce social distancing with space between parking slots and strict rules enforced which include that concertgoers remain inside of their vehicles for the concert’s duration.

Muñoz said the concert’s site in Poteet near the Poteet Strawberry Festival grounds was chosen as the venue, that they were get the required permission to host the event, and that they coordinated the concert to meet safety standards and guidelines regarding the coronaviruspandemic.

Other drive-in concerts, including a May 14 free concert for first responders by country star Keith Urban in Tennessee, took place recently and could possibly be music lovers’ only option for live music during this pandemic.

Intocable’s drive-in concert will allow attendees to bring their own food and drink, including alcohol for those ages 21 and up, as long as refreshments are consumed inside the vehicle.

Fans will also have two large video screens on each side of the stage and the option of tuning in to a designated FM radio station to enjoy the concert.
