The 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards have been awarded, with the 24-year-old Mexican Grammy-winning singer sweeping all four awards in the Regional Mexican category.
In the field, Peso Pluma claimed the awards for Regional Mexican Artist of the Year, Regional Mexican Best New Artist, Regional Mexican Album of the Year for Genésis and Regional Mexican Song of the Year for “Ella Baila Sola,” his collaboration with Eslabon Armado.
Karol G, meantime, registered two iHeartRadio Music Awards wins.
The 33-year-old Colombian superstar claimed Latin Pop / Urban Album of the Year for MAÑANA SERÁ BONITO and Latin Pop / Urban Artist of the Year.
Ice Spice claimed the award for Best New Artist (Hip-Hop); Selena Gomez won Best Collaboration for her Rema-collaboration “Calm Down;” Robert Trujillo and Metallica won Rock Album of the Year for 72 Seasons, Shakira won Latin Pop / Urban Song of the Year for Bizarrap-collab “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53;” and Young Miko was named Best New Artist (Latin Pop / Urban).

Amazon has acquired the Skydance TV series Backwards in Heels, produced by the 52-year-old Puerto Rican superstar, off the table.
The series will be written and directed by Richard LaGravenese and follows the aspirational and timeless story about the glamorous women living at the Barbizon Hotel in post-WWII New York City.
Lopez, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina will produce under their Nuyorican Productions. Julie Goldstein is also producing.
The Barbizon Hotel, located at 140 East 63rd St. on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, was for several decades a female-only residential hotel for young women who came to NYC for professional opportunities.
Built in 1927, the 23-story hotel was a blend of Italian Renaissance and late Gothic revival and Islamic decorative elements.
No men were allowed above the ground floor, and strict dress and conduct rules were enforced. Men began to be admitted as guests in 1981.
Famous guests and residents throughout its history included Lauren Bacall, Betty Buckley, Joan Crawford, Rita Hayworth and Grace Kelly, among several others.
Lopez was honored with the Icon Award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards last week. She recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of her breakout movie Selena, in which she played the Tejano legend.
The actress’ recent romantic comedy feature Marry Me was one of the most viewed movies ever on NBCUniversal’s Peacock streaming service, approaching 6M accounts. Jennifer Lopez is preparing for an Iconic performance…
The 52-year-old Puerto Rican superstar will perform on the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards, which will air live from The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Tuesday, March 22.
Lopez, who is set to receive the Icon Award during the program, joins a list of performers that includes Megan Thee Stallion, Jason Aldean, John Legend, Charlie Puth and Måneskin.
The show’s host, LL Cool J, will also perform on the show.
LL Cool J and J.Lo previously collaborated on a pair of big hits – “All I Have” (No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks in 2003) and “Control Myself” (No. 4 in 2006) — but there’s no word if they’ll perform together during the show.
The 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards will air on March 22 from 8:00 – 10:00 pm ET (live) and PT (tape-delayed) on Fox. The event also will be heard on iHeartMedia radio stations nationwide and on the iHeartRadio app.
Now in its ninth year, the iHeartRadio Music Awards will celebrate the most-played artists and songs on iHeartRadio stations and the iHeartRadio app throughout 2021, while also offering a preview of the upcoming hits of 2022.
iHeartRadio listeners have the opportunity to decide winners in nine categories. Fan voting will determine this year’s best fan army, best lyrics, best cover song, best music video, the social star award, favorite tour photographer, TikTok bop of the year and the first-ever TikTok songwriter of the year and best comeback album.
Social voting began on January 27 and will close on March 15 at 11:59 p.m. PT for all categories. Fans can vote on Twitter using the appropriate category and nominee hashtags or by visiting iHeartRadio.com/awards.
Additional categories include label of the year and individual winners for album of the year in nine formats — pop, country, alternative, rock, dance, hip-hop, R&B, Latin and regional Mexican.
The 22-year-old Mexican singer, a three-time Latin Grammy winner, picked up three awards at Thursday night’s iHeartRadio Music Awards.
Nodal’s picked up the awards for Regional Mexican Album of the Year (AYAYAY!), Regional Mexican Song of the Year (“Se Me Olvidó”), and Regional Mexican Artist of the Year.

Bad Bunny’s X 100PRE was named Latin Album of the Year, Daddy Yankee & Katy Perry’s “Con Calma” earned the Latin Pop/Reggaeton Song of the Year, and the Regional Mexican Artist of the Year award went to
Christian Nodal.
Rosalia was named Best New Latin Pop/Reggaeton Artist, and Ozuna earned the Latin Pop/Reggaeton Artist of the Year prize.
The awards, honoring the most-played artists and songs on iHeartRadio stations and the iHeartRadio app throughout 2019, were originally set to take place on March 29 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Usher was set to host the Fox broadcast, but COVID-19 restrictions thwarted that plan. On March 16, iHeart postponed the show. On Aug. 24, it canceled the event and announced the plan to reveal the winners over the Labor Day weekend.
The show is set to return to Fox in 2021.
The Labor Day rollout, in which winners in 50 categories were announced one per hour, featured acceptance speeches from many winners.

The 31-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer-songwriter picked up the Innovator Award at this year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards.
But for Mars, who continues to make waves with his musical endeavors, including his latest album 24K Magic, the best is yet to come.
“Innovator is a very heavy word,” said Mars in his acceptance speech. “It’s a little ironic because I genuinely feel like I’m just getting started.”
But Mars wasn’t the only Latino artist to take home a trophy (or two)…
Ally Brooke Hernandez, Lauren Jauregui and their fellow Fifth Harmony members, including recently departed member Camila Cabello, claimed three awards.
For the second straight year, the all-girl group took home the Best Cover Song award. Last year, they won the award for their cover of Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk;” this year they won for their performance of Elle King’s “Ex’s and Oh’s.”
Additionally, Fifth Harmony won for Best Music Video for their “Work From Home” clip featuring Ty Dolla $ign, and Best Fan Army for their Harmonizers.
Other winners include J Balvin, Nicky Jam, Joss Favela, Robert Trujillo and his fellow Metallica bandmates, CNCO, Calibre 50, Los Plebes Del Rancho De Ariel Camacho and Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizárraga.

Nicky Jam is getting some much deserved radio recognition…
The 35-year-old Puerto Rican and Dominican American singer-songwriter received four iHeartRadio Music Award nominations, including one in a non-Latin category.
Nicky Jam, the most-nominated Latino artist, is up for Latin Artist of the Year, where he’ll face off against Enrique Iglesias, J Balvin, Prince Royce and Yandel.
The Latin Grammy winner also received two nominations in the Latin Song of the Year category for his recent collaborations: Mana’s remake of “De Pies A Cabeza” and Reik’s “Ya Me Enteré.”
But Nicky Jam’s biggest nod comes in the Best Music Video category for his popular “Hasta El Amanecer” clip. He’s up against the likes of Justin Timberlake, The Chainsmokers, Beyonce, Coldplay, ZAYN, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna.
Meanwhile, Selena Gomez is the most-nominated Latina artist with two nods. She’s up for Female Artist of the Year and Best Fan Army for her avid followers, the Selenators.
Fifth Harmony, featuring Latina singers Ally Brooke Hernandez, Lauren Jauregui and Camila Cabello, who recently left the group, earned three nods.
Bruno Marswas revealed as the event’s first announced performer. The part-Puerto Rican singer is also is nominated in the socially voted covers category for his rendition of Adele‘s “All I Ask.”
Other Latino nominees include Demi Lovato, Gerardo Ortiz, Sofia Reyes and CNCO.
The awards are intended to celebrate the music heard across iHeartMedia radio stations over the past year.
Voting for the fan army award began Tuesday through iHeartRadio’s social media accounts and its app, with all other categories now open, and runs through February 24, with the fan army award extending to the night of the event on March 5. Fans can vote by visiting iHeartRadio.com/awards.
The 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards will air live from the Forum in Inglewood, California on March 5 at 8:00 pm EST on TBS, TNT and truTV.

The 23-year-old half-Mexican American singer/actress picked up the award for Biggest Triple Threat at this year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards, which were handed out Sunday night.
Gomez, heralded as a singer, actor and dancer, beat out Lady Gaga, Hailee Steinfeld, Jason Derulo, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Timberlake, Nick Jonas, Troye Sivan, Usher and Zendaya for the prize.
Bruno Mars continues to Funk things up. The 30-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer won the award for Best Collaboration for his smash hit single “Uptown Funk“ with Mark Ronson.
Meanwhile, Ally Brooke Hernadez, Camila Cabello and Lauren Jauregui and their fellow Fifth Harmony members, as well as 22-year-old half-Mexican American singer Jasmine V, picked up the award for Best Cover Song for Mars and Ronson’s “Uptown Funk.” They share the award with Jacob Whitesides and Mahogany Lox.
Other winners include Pitbull for Latin Artist of the Year, and Nicky Jam and Enrique Iglesias’ smash hit single “El Perdón“ for Latin Song of the Year.
The awards show aired live on TBS, TNT and truTV from the Forum in Inglewood, California. Jason Derulo served as the night’s host.

The 23-year-old part-Mexican American singer/actress hit the stage alongside country music star Brad Paisley at Sunday’s iHeartRadio Music Awards.
The singer was nominated twice, including for Best Cover Song.
Lovato performed her latest single from her new album “Stone Cold,” joined by Paisley on guitar, during the show airing live on TBS, TNT and truTV from the Forum in Inglewood, Calif.
“Stone Cold” is the third single from Lovato’s fifth album, Confident, which was released in October 2015. It follows chart-topping lead single “Cool for the Summer” and the title track “Confident.”
In the field, Peso Pluma claimed the awards for Regional Mexican Artist of the Year, Regional Mexican Best New Artist, Regional Mexican Album of the Year for Genésis and Regional Mexican Song of the Year for “Ella Baila Sola,” his collaboration with Eslabon Armado.
