DJ Luian to Make Feature Debut in Indie Horror Film “You Lose You Die”

The 33-year-old Puerto Rican DJ and producer is set to make his feature debut in Carlos “Spiff TV” Suarez’s indie horror film You Lose You Die.

DJ Lujan joins previously announced stars Freddy Rodriguez, who also executive produces, Ashley Elizabeth Fliehr (WWE star Charlotte Flair) and Anuel AA, who will also be making his feature debut.

Shooting is due to wrap imminently in the Dominican Republic and the project will be shopped following post-production.

You Lose You Die follows sociopathic tech expert Mr. Fantastik (Rodriguez), who runs a popular show on the dark web with two other sociopathic tech experts, Ms. Perfect (Fliehr) and Mr. Creep (Anthony Alvarez). On the show, thousands of viewers vote on games and challenges for prisoners to participate in. If the prisoners lose, viewers vote on the weapons the sociopaths use to kill them.

In addition to DJ Lujan, who plays Ice Pick, the cast includes Josh Bredl as Mr. Large, Sophia Zimba as Kara, Ashley Hernandez as Julie, Alejandro Duran as Alfonso, Noah Crider as Chase, Marcella Acuña as Christie, Mercy Grant as Darling and Lydia Faith Gomez as Jamie.

Rodriguez, Josue “Sway” Mendez and Ulysses Terrero serve as executive producers, with Mendez also producing.

DJ Luian has collaborated with Daddy Yankee, Nicky Jam, J Balvin and Ozuna.

His notable songs include “La Ocasión, “Mia” featuring Drake and Bad Bunny and “Sensualidad.”

With “Mia,” he reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In 2015, DJ Luian co-founded the music label Hear This Music with Mambo Kingz and is credited with discovering and signing global superstar Bad Bunny, whose breakthrough hit “Diles” was released under the label.

Camilo Villegas Wins Butterfield Bermuda Championship in Late Daughter’s Memory

It’s a bittersweet victory for Camilo Villegas.

The 41-year-old Colombian professional golfer has ended a long and emotional drought after coming up with key birdies down the stretch on Sunday for a 6-under 65 to win the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.

Villegas went shot for shot with Alex Noren for five hours until all he had left was a tap-in for par for his first PGA Tour title since 2014.

He stood erect, lightly pumping his fist, and then looked skyward before Latin players rushed onto the green to celebrate. Villegas grabbed one bottle of bubbly and took a swig.

More than going nine years without winning, Villegas and his wife coped with the death of Mia, who died of brain cancer in the summer of 2020. Villegas was lost on the course and finished last year at No. 654 in the world.

Now he has a two-year exemption and returns to the Masters and PGA Championship for the first time since 2015. His wife began a foundation in Mia’s name, and their son, Mateo, was born in December.

“It’s tough to put into words right now. Wow, what a ride, man,” Villegas said. “I love this game. This game has given me so many great things, and in the process, it kicks your butt. Life has given me so many great things and in the process it kicks your butt, too.”

He look skyward again and said, “I’ve got my little one up there watching.”

Villegas finished at 24-under 260 to win by two shots over Noren, who never recovered from two mistakes around the turn and closed with a 68.

Villegas split time between the Korn Ferry Tour and whatever events he could get in on the PGA Tour, neither with much success. He kept grinding on his game and then watched it come together at the right time.

He was a runner-up last week in Mexico. He was a winner in Bermuda, his fifth tour title.

Noren, who started the final round with a one-shot lead, went 48 consecutive holes without a bogey until he made back-to-back bogeys at the turn. The Swede went from a one-shot lead to a one-shot deficit, and he never caught up.

Noren hit his wedge to 7 feet on the 15th, only for Villegas to hit the top of the pin and have the ball settle a foot away for matching birdies. Both missed good birdie chances on the par-3 16th along the ocean.

The turning point came at the par-5 17th, which played into the wind for the final round. Noren came up short and left below the green and played his pitch to low and strong, the ball running through the green onto the fringe. Villegas went into the bunker and quickly blasted out to about 18 inches for birdie. That became a two-shot lead when Noren missed his birdie putt.

He felt small consolation that Villegas simply outplayed him. Noren also could appreciate the joy Villegas felt from the hand life has dealt him.

“My wife is close to his wife and I know what he’s been through, and it’s terrible what happened to him and his family, so I’m so happy for him,” Noren said. “I’ve got kids of my own and I can’t imagine. So I’m very, very happy for him and the way he played and the way he’s handled his life after. It’s remarkable.”

Bad Bunny Celebrates History-Making 1 Billion Spotify Streams for “Tití Me Preguntó”

The 29-year-old Puerto Rican Grammy-winning superstar recently visited Spotify’s newly launched Billions Club series.

“The feeling of having 1 billion streams for this song right now is the same emotion I felt when I got 5,000 plays for the first time,” Bad Bunny said. “For me, it’s just as big knowing that there are people who want to listen and want to enjoy what you make.” 

The song in question is “Tití Me Preguntó,” a track from his historic Un Verano Sin Ti album that officially reached 1 billion Spotify streams on January 23.

According to Spotify, Bad Bunny has 12 songs with more than 1 billion streams each on the platform — more than any other artist in Spotify history. He has accumulated 58 billion streams on the service, reigning as Spotify’s most-streamed artist of the year for the past three years.

In the video, Bad Bunny feasted on a lavish meal set on several plaques that commemorated his other songs with over 1 billion Spotify streams, including “Yonaguni,” “Dákiti” (with Jhayco) and “MIA” (with Drake).

In addition to basking in his record-breaking streaming success, the “Después de la Playa” singer also recounted the story behind the creation of “Tití Me Preguntó.” When tasked with telling the story of the song in 10 seconds, he replied, “That’s impossible. That’s a lifetime of love and romance.”

“It’s a song that was born very spontaneously,” he added. “All of the people mentioned in the song exist in real life. Nothing I say in that song is a lie, including the part where I say I want to fall in love, but I can’t.”

Nonetheless, Bad Bunny declined to specify which aunt he was singing about, because “they’ll get jealous and create a mess.”

Toward the end of his Billions Club episode, Bad Bunny made sure to thank his fans for their continued support, as well as his mother and father for believing in him “not just in music, but with every decision [he’s] made” in his life.

Bad Bunny has earned 11 top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including his sole No. 1 single “I Like It” (with Cardi B & J Balvin). On the Billboard 200, he has notched five top 10 projects, two of which have reached the ranking’s summit: El Ultimo Tour Del Mundo (one week) and Un Verano Sin Ti (13 weeks).

During Drake’s Sunday night (August 13) concert in Inglewood, Calif., he brought up the 29-year-old Puerto Rican Grammy-winning superstar for a special announcement during his set… a new collaboration with Drake and Bad Bunny, much to the delight of concert attendees.

Bad Bunny“I wanna tell y’all something, because y’all are L.A. and we love you,” Drake told the crowd during a brief break between songs. “It’s been like six years since me and Benito did a song, so we got a song coming for y’all on my album and it’s real.”

Billboard reached out to Drake and Bad Bunny’s representatives for comment and any additional information.

The rappers last worked together on their collaborative track “a,” which was released in 2018. The song marked a few feats for each artist: “Mía” peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became Bunny’s first top 10 single as a lead artist; and the single marked Drake’s 26th top 10 on the chart.

The song also marked the first time Drake sang entirely in Spanish on a track. The new track (the title of which is unknown) will appear on Drake’s forthcoming studio album, For All the Dogs (release date TBD).

Bad Bunny’s “Me Porto Bien,” with Chencho Corleone, Logs Milestone 20th Week at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs Chart

Bad Bunny is still behaving well… And, he’s earning a place in Latin music history.

The 28-year-old Puerto Rican superstar and Chencho Corleone’s “Me Porto Bonito” has logged a milestone 20th week at No. 1 on BillboardHot Latin Songs chart dated October 8, becoming the 12th song to spend at least 20 weeks atop the tally in its 36-year history.

Bad BunnyThe song’s 20th week at No. 1 benefits from 8 million U.S. audience impressions earned in the week ending Sept. 29 (up 18%), according to Luminate. 

Meanwhile, though it dips 4% in streams to 12 million earned in the week ending September 29, it holds strong at No. 1 on the Latin Streaming Songs chart and moves 4-2 on the overall Streaming Songs chart.

On the sales front, “Me Porto Bonito” falls 14%, to 1,000 downloads sold, in the same tracking period.

As it drops 1-2 on Latin Digital Song Sales, it cedes the No. 1 spot to another one of Bad Bunny’s songs: “MIA,” featuring Drake — which last took over atop the chart for one week in October 2018.

As mentioned, “Me Porto Bonito” joins 11 other tracks that have held strong at No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs for at least 20 weeks or more since the chart’s inception in 1986.

Further, Bad Bunny is the third act to have two different songs spend at least 20 weeks at No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs (he previously notched 27 weeks at No. 1 with “Dakiti,” with Jhay Cortez). Both Enrique Iglesias and J Balvin have also logged a pair of 20-week No. 1s. Iglesias did it with “Bailando” (41 in 2014-15, featuring Descemer Bueno and Gente de Zona) and “El Perdon” (30 in 2015, with Nicky Jam), while J Balvin ruled with “RITMO (Bad Boys for Life)” (24, 2020; with Black Eyed Peas) and “Ginza” (22, 2015).

Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber, has the most weeks at No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs, with 56 weeks in 2017-18.

Elsewhere, “Me Porto Bonito” rebounds to No. 4 on Latin Airplay for a second week (7-4). The track led the all-genre tally for one week on the Aug. 20-dated ranking.

Bad Bunny Earns Eighth Billion Views Club Entry on YouTube with “AMORFODA” Music Video

The 28-year-old Puerto Rican superstar is officially an eight-time member of YouTube’s Billion Views Club as his 2018 music video for “AMORFODA” has surpassed one billion views on the online video sharing and social media platform.

The achievement comes a few months after his “Dákiti” music video with Jhay Cortez crossed into billions territory in January.

Before that, he’d earned billion-views status for his “Te Bote Remix,” “Mayores,” “No Me Conoce,” “I Like It,” “Mia” and “Tu No Vive Asi” music videos.

Released one day after Valentine’s Day in February of 2018, “AMORFODA” (which loosely translates to “a f— love”) marked a significant departure from Bad Bunny’s usual trap-infused musical style, with the two-time Grammy winner opting instead for minimalistic piano.

The “AMORFODA” music video matches the song’s simplicity, and follows the musician with one continuous shot as he leaves his pleading ex-girlfriend behind on a sunset-lit beach.

“Everyone has been in love, at some point or another,” he told Billboard of the song, which peaked at No. 10 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, a few days after its release. “It’s honestly a song I’ve had written for quite some time now. In fact, it’s a song I had written way before the fame and success.”

“I’ve always loved this song because I wrote it with a lot of sentiment behind it,” he continued. “It’s the kind of record that reminds me of the longevity of really good songs. A good song never gets old. It was just a matter of time, and it was time to come out with something different.”

It’s Lucky No. 7 for Bad Bunny

The 27-year-old Puerto Rican Latin trap and reggaeton superstar’s “Dákiti,” his collaboration with Jhay Cortez, has officially entered YouTube’s Billion Views Club.”

Bad Bunny and Cortez first joined the list with their 2019 banger “No Me Conoce” in collaboration with J Balvin.

The official music video for “Dákiti,” which shows the two artists performing the song at a beach setting, premiered on Oct. 20, 2020.

This marks Bunny’s seventh video (following “Te Bote Remix,” “Mayores,” “No Me Conoce,” “I Like It,” “Mia,” and “Tu No Vive Asi) and Cortez’s second visual to achieve the milestone.

Four other Bad Bunny videos are soon to hit one billion views, including “Si Tu Novio te Deja Sola” with Balvin, the Karol G-assisted “Ahora me Llama,” “Amorfoda,” and “Soy Peor,” all of which have more than 900,000 views.

“Working with Jhay is always a good experience,” Bad Bunny previously told Billboard. “We’ve worked together on the remix of ‘No Me Conoce,’ which was a global hit, and the remix of ‘Como Se Siente,’ and people have always enjoyed our collaborations. In this case, it’s the first time we were able to work together in the studio, unlike the other two songs that were done via phone. Sharing ideas in person is the key to the success of the song.”

On the Billboard charts, “Dákiti,” part of Bunny’s chart-topping album El Ultimo Tour del Mundo, hit No. 1 on January 2, 2021, and spent 27 consecutive weeks at the top.

The fiery joint also topped at No. 1 on Billboard’s Year-End Hot Latin Songs chart.

Bad Bunny Earns 15th No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay Chart with “Yonaguni”

The 27-year-old Puerto Rican Latin trap and reggaeton rapper, singer and songwriter has notched his 15th No. 1 on Billboard‘s Latin Airplay chart as “Yonaguni” takes over the top spot on the September 4-dated survey.

The rise to the summit follows the song’s dominance on the multi-metric Hot Latin Songs chart (which merges airplay, sales and streaming data) for five weeks in June and July.

It also became Bad Bunny’s fourth top 10, reaching No. 10, on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The Spanish-language “Yonaguni,” which features some Japanese lyrics (as the song is named after the western-most island of Japan), lifts 4-1 on Latin Airplay with by a 19% increase to 11.6 million audience impressions in the week ending August 29, according to MRC Data.

“Yonaguni” marks Bad Bunny’s fourth Latin Airplay leader without another artist among his compendium of 15 No. 1s. It follows three in 2020: “Vete” (one week at No. 1, March 14), “La Dificil” (one, August) and “Yo Perreo Sola” (two, June).

Bad Bunny first led Latin Airplay for a week in February 2018 as a featured artist on Becky G‘s “Mayores,” also his first chart entry. He logged his longest stay at the summit to-date with “Mia,” featuring Drake, for six weeks starting in December 2018.

 

Over on Hot Latin Songs, “Yonaguni” remains at No. 4, led by 7.6 million U.S. streams in the week ending August 26.

Bad Bunny to Perform at This Year’s Billboard Music Awards

Bad Bunny is bringing some Latin heat to the Billboard Music Awards

The 27-year-old Puerto Rican Latin trap and reggaeton singer will perform “Te Deseo Lo Mejor” from his 2020 album El Último Tour Del Mundo, which made history as the first all-Spanish-language album to hit No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart.

In addition to topping the Billboard 200, Bad Bunny has also reached No. 1 on Billboards other flagship, all-genre chart, the Billboard Hot 100. He topped that chart with “I Like It,” his 2018 collab with Cardi B and J Balvin. In addition, he has cracked the top five on the Hot 100 with two other hits: “Mia” (featuring Drake) and “Dakiti” (a collab with Jhay Cortez).

Bad Bunny, a four-time BBMA winner, is nominated for seven more BBMAs this year, including top Latin artist and top Latin album, two categories he won last year. Bad Bunny is one of only nine artists with seven or more BBMA nods this year — and the only one representing Latin music.

He won his first Grammy on March 14, when his album YHLQMDLG won for best Latin pop or urban album.

Bad Bunny holds the record for the most top 40 hits on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart with 104. He also holds the record for the most hits total on that chart: 111.

But Bad Bunny won’t be the only Latin artist to perform…

Karol G will take the stage for a special medley of her hits “Bichota” and “El Makinon.”

The 30-year-old Colombian singer’s most recent album, KG0516, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart, becoming her first No. 1 on that list. It also made the top 20 on the Billboard 200, her highest ranking to date.

Karol G has amassed 25 hits on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, including three No. 1s. She has had 10 No. 1s on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart.

Hosted by Nick Jonas, the show will include performances by (in alphabetical order by principal performer) AJR, BTS, DJ Khaled featuring H.E.R. and Migos, Duran Duran, Glass Animals, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis with Sounds Of Blackness featuring Ann Nesby, Alicia Keys, P!nk, twenty one pilots and The Weeknd.

The 26-year-old Puerto Rican Latin trap and reggaeton singer’s latest single, “Dakiti,” featuring Jhay Cortez debuts at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100, on the chart dated November 14.

Bad Bunny and Cortez’s charge onto the Hot 100 is due to 22.2 million streams, 3.2 million in airplay audience and 5,000 sold in the tracking week for “Dakiti.”

As it concurrently starts at No. 1 on the multi-metric Hot Latin Songs chart, it’s the first title ever to have entered the Hot 100 in the top 10 and launched atop Hot Latin Songs simultaneously.

“Dakiti” is Bad Bunny’s third Hot 100 top 10, all of which have debuted in the tier. It follows his Cardi B and J Balvin team-up “I Like It,” which began at No. 8 and spent a week at No. 1, and “MIA,” featuring Drake (No. 5 debut and peak), both in 2018.

“MIA” and now “Dakiti” are the only all-Spanish-language songs ever to have debuted in the Hot 100’s top 10.

Cortez, meanwhile, earns his first Hot 100 top 10.
