Ryan Castro is feeling the burn… But he isn’t doing it alone!
The 29-year-old Colombian singer and songwriter has joined voices with Peso Pluma to release the new single “QUEMA” via Sony Music Latin.
Powered by a hypnotizing, head-bobbing beat, the irresistible old-school perreo track is signature Castro, who has a knack for delivering hooky songs — and his new track is no exception.
Add Peso, Mexican music’s biggest star today, and it’s a certified hit.
The song finds the corridos singer returning to urbano following “La Bebe Remix,” his hit song with Yng Lvcas, which has now spent 16 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100.
“Quema” — produced by SOG, Castro’s longtime producer — will be part of the Colombian artist’s upcoming new album, El Cantante Del Ghetto.
The 23-year-old Mexican singer-songwriter and rapper has picked up his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart as “La Bebe,” with Peso Pluma, ascends 2-1 to lead the list dated July 15.
The collab checks into the penthouse on the overall Latin chart in its fourth week at No. 1 on Latin Rhythm Airplay.
“La Bebe” takes over Latin Airplay with 10 million audience impressions, up 1% from the week prior, earned in the U.S. in the week ending July 6, according to Luminate.
The song replaces Grupo Frontera and Bad Bunny’s “X100to” from its six-week domination, dipping 2-1 with a 14% decline in impressions, to 9.3 million.
“La Bebe” grants Lvcas his first Latin Airplay champ, who joins four other acts who have also taken over the tally in 2023 with their first leaders: Fuerza Regida and Grupo Frontera through “Bebe Dame” (one week, March 25), Marshmello with the Manuel Turizo-assisted “El Merengue” (one week, June 10), and his contemporary Peso Pluma, as “Ella Baila Sola,” with Eslabon Armado, placed the Mexican at the lead for one week (June 17).
Thus, the latter collects his second ruler.
Further, “La Bebe” is the only collaborative charting effort by Lvcas on any Billboard chart. He captured his maiden entry on any Billboard tally when the original version of the song, sans Pluma, debuted on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart at No. 152, reaching a No. 2 high in April, after the remix with Pluma dropped.

Beyond its Latin Airplay coronation, “La Bebe” holds steady at its No. 2 high for a seventh week on the multi-metric Hot Latin Songs chart, despite a 5% decline in streaming activity: it logged 13.2 million clicks in the U.S. during the same period. Plus, it also sees a fall in sales: 12% from the previous week to 1,000 downloads.
Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma have returned to the top of the global charts…
The Regional Mexican band and the 24-year-old Mexican rising star’s popular collaboration “Ella Baila Sola” returns to No. 1, from the No. 2 spot, on the Billboard Global 200 chart dated July 1.
It rules for a sixth total week, having become the list’s first leader for the Regional Mexican genre.
It drew 58.2 million streams (down 10%) and sold 2,000 (down 6%) worldwide June 16-22.
Yng Lvcas and Peso Pluma’s “La Bebe” rises 3-2 on the Global 200, revisiting its best rank; Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” lifts 4-3, after 12 weeks at No. 1 starting in January; Rema and Selena Gomez’s “Calm Down” climbs 9-4, after reaching No. 3 in January; and Fifty Fifty’s “Cupid” shoots 7-5, after it hit No. 2.
On the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, Yng Lvcas and Peso Pluma’s “La Bebe” ascends 3-2., adding a fifth week at its highpoint, while Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma’s “Ella Baila Sola” elevates 7-5, after reaching No. 2.

“La Bebe” takes the lead with 9.4 million audience impressions, a 19% gain from the week prior, earned in the U.S. during the June 9-15 tracking period, according to Luminate.
The new champ on Latin Rhythm Airplay arrives after “La Bebe” topped Latin Digital Song Sales for one week on the April 15-dated ranking. Plus, the song previously reached a No. 2 high on the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts, on Hot Latin Songs, and on Latin Streaming Songs.
As “La Bebe” becomes the reigning champ on Latin Rhythm Airplay, it earns both Lvcas and Pluma their first No. 1, who also secured their maiden entry when the song debuted in the upper half of the ranking (at No. 14) in April.
Previously, both Bizarrap and Quevedo completed the feat when “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52” crowned Latin Rhythm Airplay for eight weeks starting the October 29, 2022-dated survey.
Further, Yng Lvcas and Pluma are only the third and fourth acts to capture a first leader on the chart in 2023, following Maldy and Baby Rasta’s prior victories through “Gatubela” with Karol G, and “Punto 40” with Rauw Alejandro on the January 7 and January 28-dated lists, respectively.
Elsewhere, “La Bebe” pushes up the overall Latin Airplay tally, to its No. 3 high.

It’s the first regional Mexican song to top Streaming Songs in the tally’s 10-year history.
In the April 28-May 4 tracking week, “Ella Baila Sola” earned 34.6 million official U.S. streams, a 2% increase, according to Luminate.
The song is the first No. 1 on Streaming Songs for both acts.
For Peso Pluma, it’s his first in his premiere appearance on the ranking, while Eslabon Armado had charted once before with the No. 43-peaking “Jugaste y Sufri,” featuring DannyLux, in October 2021.
“Ella Baila Sola” marks the first Streaming Songs ruler either predominantly or completely in Spanish since Bad Bunny and Chencho Corleone’s “Me Porto Bonito” crowned the survey for two weeks – July 30, 2022, and August 6, 2022.
Peso Pluma boasts two tunes in Streaming Songs’ top 10, with “Ella Baila Sola” joined by his Yng Lvcas collaboration “La Bebe” at No. 5 (21.6 million streams).
Concurrently, “Ella Baila Sola” reigns on Hot Latin Songs for a fifth week and remains at No. 4 on the all-format Billboard Hot 100.
The song’s parent album, Eslabon Armado’s Desvelado, also debuts at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 with 44,000 equivalent album units earned.

It’s the second leader for Bad Bunny on each list and the first for Grupo Frontera.
The track is the second Global 200 No. 1 and first Global Excl. U.S. leader for the Regional Mexican genre — as it dethrones the first such No. 1 on the former chart: Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma’s “Ella Baila Sola” jumped to the top of the Global 200 a week earlier.
Meanwhile, thanks to “Un x100to,” “Ella Baila Sola” and Yng Lvcas and Peso Pluma’s “La Bebe,” Regional Mexican (and Spanish-language) songs rank at Nos. 1, 2 and 3 simultaneously on both charts for the first time since the surveys began in September 2020.
Grupo Frontera and Bad Bunny’s “Un x100to” leaps from No. 5 to No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, with 110.2 million streams (up 64%) and 4,000 sold (down 13%) worldwide April 21-27.
Bad Bunny adds his second, after “Dákiti,” with Jhay Cortez (now Jhayco), led for three weeks in November-December 2020.
It’s also the fifth all-Spanish-language leader on the list, after “Ella Baila Sola”; Karol G and Shakira’s “TQG,” which ruled for a week upon its debut in March; Bizarrap and Quevedo’s “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52” (four weeks, 2022); and “Dakiti.”

The 23-year-old Mexican singer and the American Regional Mexican group have each logged their first Top 10 on the Hot 100 with “Ella Baila Sola” on the chart dated April 22, 2023.
Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma’s “Ella Baila Sola” soars 17-10, led by 24.4 million streams, up 30%, as it wins the Hot 100’s top Streaming Gainer trophy, and jumps 6-3 on Streaming Songs.
Quartet Eslabon Armado, from California, and Peso Pluma, from Mexico, each reach the Hot 100’s top for the first time – as “Ella Baila Sola” makes history as the first regional Mexican song ever to hit the Hot 100’s top 10.
The genre has surged this decade, due in part to exposure on TikTok and other social media, with Gera MX and Christian Nodal’s “Botella Tras Botella” having become the first regional Mexican Hot 100 hit in May 2021, peaking at No. 60.
After “Ella Baila Sola,” Peso Pluma also has the second-highest-charting regional Mexican Hot 100 hit: “La Bebe,” with Yng Lvcas, rises to a new No. 17 best on the latest, April 22-dated chart.
The next-highest-peaking such hits: Yahritza y Su Esencia’s “Soy El Unico” (No. 20, April 2022 – it debuted at that rank, the highest entrance for a regional Mexican song) and Fuerza Regida and Grupo Frontera’s “Bebe Dame” (No. 25, this January).
Among Latin genres, regional Mexican’s arrival in the Hot 100’s top 10 follows that of Latin pop, which, after English-language hits by Gloria Estefan in the 1980s (plus Los Lobos’ “La Bamba,” in Spanish) surged in the late ‘90s and beyond thanks to songs (in varying degrees of English and Spanish) by Enrique Iglesias, Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin, among other stars.
At the same time, Marc Anthony helped tropical break through on the chart. In more recent years, Daddy Yankee and Luis Fonsi’s pop-centered, mostly-Spanish-language “Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber, spent a then-record-tying 16 weeks at No. 1 in 2017, while, this decade, Bad Bunny, with Spanish-language songs, has carried the torch for Latin rhythm in the top 10.
As for Latin music overall, Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma earn the Hot 100’s third Spanish-language top 10 this year, following two Latin pop hits: Bizarrap and Shakira’s “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” (No. 9, January) and Karol G and Shakira’s “TQG” (No. 7, March).
“Ella Baila Sola” was released on Prajin Parlay/DEL Records, both of which likewise appear in the Hot 100’s top 10 for the first time.
The collaboration concurrently achieves a second week at No. 1 on the multi-metric Hot Latin Songs chart, where it became the first leader for both Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma.
“We didn’t expect for the song to make so much noise!” Pedro Tovar, lead singer for the former act, and the song’s sole author, told Billboard upon its coronation. “I really liked the song when I first wrote it, but I didn’t really expect it to be such a big hit. I previewed it on my stories on Instagram and, two days after, it went viral on TikTok, and that’s when I knew that the song was going to do big numbers.”
“Normally I don’t expect to chart with songs,” Peso Pluma marveled. “We just enjoyed the process of doing it.”
