Bad Bunny Appears as The Nosferatu in New “Baticano” Music Video

Bad Bunny is having a fangtastic time…

The 29-year-old Puerto Rican Grammy-winning superstar gets his creep on in the just-released music video for “Baticano,” a single off his third and latest No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana.

Bad BunnyBad Bunny appears as the iconic vampire, The Nosferatu, in the clip.

Directed by Stillz, the music video has all the angles, shadows and hallmarks of the 1922 version of Nosferatu, a benchmark in German Expressionism filmmaking.

Steve Buscemi plays the father figure/mad scientist, who tells the pointy-eared creature, “they’re not ready for you in this world. But you are beautiful. Remember that. You are too perfect for this world.”

Bad Bunny is following in some mighty footsteps. Max Schreck’s performance in that early film was so compelling, Willem Dafoe reprised the role for 2000’s Shadow of the Vampire, which posited that, just maybe, Schreck was an actual garlic-hating, sunshine-avoiding vampire. Werner Herzog helmed the 1979 remake of Nosferatu the Vampyre, with Klaus Kinski, in the lead role, creepier than a box of spiders. Robert Eggers directs an update on the blood-sucking count, due out in 2024.

All 21 songs from Bad Bunny’s new album went on to enter the Billboard Hot 100, including “Baticano,” which bowed at No. 78 last month. It’s his fifth solo studio album, following last year’s blockbuster Un Verano Sin Ti. His 2022 album spent 13 weeks atop the Billboard 200 albums chart and topped the year-end Billboard 200 as well — the first Spanish-language album to do so.

Following its release, Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana was confirmed by Spotify as the platform’s most-streamed album in a single day in 2023 so far.

Bad Bunny Releases New ‘Jersey Club’ Single “Where She Goes”

Bad Bunny is going where

Following his smash cumbia-norteña hit collaboration “un x100to” with Grupo Frontera, the 29-year-old Puerto Rican Grammy-winning singer/songwriter has just-released the Jersey club cut “Where She Goes.”

Bad BunnyThe English-titled, Spanish-language song sees Bad Bunny playing with dynamism with a subtle dembow rhythm, courtesy of super producer MAG.

Looking like a swaggering frontiersman armed with a cowboy buckle to boot, Bad Bunny rides around in a vintage Rolls-Royce in the Stillz-directed music video. He then appears on top of a tree amid the desert, and there’s also a scene that projects a Burning Man vibe with a tribe of people surrounding a massing bonfire.

Special guests include Brazilian soccer legend Ronaldinho, Frank Ocean, Lil Uzi Vert, Dominic Fike, Sabrina Lada and more.

Lil Uzi Vert, who is also featured doing his famous TikTok dance, is an appropriate guest, as the “Just Wanna Rock” hitmaker helped spark Jersey club’s rise in 2022, a genre that is permeating the New York drill scene.

Bad Bunny is the first artist in Latin music to embrace the East Coast sound. Jersey club first originated in Newark, New Jersey, in the early new millennium.

“Baby, tell me the truth if you forgot about me/ I know it was only one night, that we’re not going to repeat,” Bunny croons in the opening verse against a dramatic, ominous electronic sound. “In you I wanted to find what I lost in someone else/ Your pride doesn’t want to speak to me, so we’re going to compete.”

Two days before the song’s arrival, Bad Bunny teased the new track on social media, introducing its first 42 seconds.

Although he mentioned a possible break in last December’s cover story, Bad Bunny proceeds to be at the forefront of pop culture. This year, he became the first Spanish-speaking artist to headline Coachella and made waves at the Met Gala. He also continues to churn out a bevy of No. 1 hits on Billboard‘s charts.

Bad Bunny Releases ‘Out of This World’ Music Video for His “YHLQMDLG” Single “Una Vez,” Featuring Mora

Bad Bunny’s work is out of this world

The 26-year-old Puerto Rican Latin trap and reggaeton singer, rapper, and songwriter has surprised fans with the official music video for “Una Vez,” one of the tracks from his chart-topping album YHLQMDLG.

Bad Bunny

In collaboration with up-and-coming artist and producer Mora, “Una Vez” tells the story of a person who’s infatuated with someone in a relationship. “And let me feel you one time, in case I never see you again/ Then I’ll continue my life normally, and you with him,” goes the infectious chorus.

The music video, helmed by Bunny’s longtime director Stillz, shows a lonely astronaut walking across U.S. landmarks in search of his long-lost love. He navigates through secluded deserts, highways, bridges, oceans, and even an empty Las Vegas strip holding a photograph of his love interest before burying it.

“Una Vez” was released on Sunday following Bad Bunny’s first-ever virtual concert in New York City, which garnered 10 million live views. Making a remote appearance from Puerto Rico, Mora was one of the night’s special guests, in addition to Sech and J Balvin.

On the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart, “Una Vez” debuted at No. 18 on the March 14-dated tally.

J Balvin’s Collaboration with Dua Lipa, Bad Bunny & Tainy, “Un Día (One Day),” Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs Chart

It’s a perfect Day for J Balvin

The 35-year-old Colombian reggaeton singer’s bilingual collaboration with Dua Lipa, Bad Bunny and Tainy, “Un Día (One Day),” surges to No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs survey dated August 8.

J Balvin

The track, released July 24, dethrones another bilingual collaboration, ending the Black Eyed Peas, Ozuna and J.Rey Soul’s three-week reign with “Mamacita.”

“I’m so thankful and blessed for the early reaction to ‘Un Día’ and its arrival on the charts,” said J Balvin. “It’s one we’ve been talking about for a while now, so I’m happy it’s out in the world for everyone to enjoy. Much Love to Dua Lipa, Bad Bunny, and Tainy for being a part of this special moment with me. Stay tuned for more fire coming soon!”

“Un Día” is Dua Lipa’s first Hot Latin Songs entry and first No. 1 on any Billboard Latin chart. Her foray into the Latin charts began in January 2018 as all-English language track “New Rules” opened at No. 40 on the Latin Pop Airplay list.

The new song isn’t available on her current album Future Nostalgia, which arrived at No. 4 on the overall Billboard 200 chart (April 11-dated tally).

“Un Día” was produced by Tainy and arrived with a music video directed by Colombian Stillz, which features Spanish actress Úrsula Corberó (Netflix’s Money Heist).

The song’s coronation on Hot Latin Songs, which blends airplay, streams and digital sales, is mainly attributed to streaming activity and airplay. It earned 10 million U.S. clicks in the week ending July 30, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, which yields a No. 1 debut on the Latin Streaming Songs list and a No. 45 arrival on the overall Streaming Songs chart.

“Un Día” concurrently opens at No. 1 on the Latin Digital Song Sales chart and at No. 49 on the overall Digital Song Sales chart supported by its 4,000 downloads logged in its first tracking week.

J Balvin, meanwhile, posts an eighth No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs. “Un Día,” however, earns him his first No. 1 debut.

With the song’s arrival atop the list, J Balvin places three songs in the top 10: “Ritmo (Bad Boys For Life),” with Black Eyed Peas at No. 3 and “Agua,” with Tainy which rises 11-7. The latter is featured on The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run soundtrack.

“Un Día” is just the second song to arrive at No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs in 2020. It follows Bad Bunny’s “Si Veo a Tu Mamá” (March 14-dated survey). While he secures his sixth No. 1, producer and songwriter Tainy claims his first.

Beyond its Hot Latin Songs chart-topping arrival, “Un Día” bows at No. 24 on Latin Airplay, No. 13 on Latin Rhythm Airplay and No. 17 on Latin Pop Airplay.

In a story dubbed “Bad Bunny Is Not Playing God,” the “Yo Perreo Sola” singer opens up about his career and his surprise 2020 albums,

including the success of his second album “Yo Hago Lo Que Me Da La Gana,” which shot to No.2 on the Billboard 200 chart, and became the highest-charting all-Spanish language album of all time, with tracks that tackle sexism head-on.

“The music industry and society in general (treat women) like they’re nothing,” he is quoted as saying. “Women are human beings and deserve respect and the same treatment as anybody else.”

And he opens up about being a queer ally in the world of reggaeton and Latin hip-hop.

“I do all of this and I’m not even sure what I cause,” he admitted. “It’s not until someone comes up to me and tells me, ‘Man, thank you,’ that I realize the impact.”

Of sex, Bad Bunny told Playboy it’s a “giant world.”

“Everyone is free to see it as they want and do it with whoever they want, however they want, with infinite possibilities. In the end, we are human beings. Everybody feels, everybody falls in love with whoever they’re meant to,” he expressed.
