Paloma Mami Becomes First Female Artist to Sign with Double P Management

The 25-year-old Chilean-American singer-songwriter has signed with Double P Management’s George Prajin, becoming the first female artist on the company’s roster.

Paloma Mami, who was nominated for best new artist at the 2021 Latin Grammys, joins a roster that includes Peso Pluma, Tito Double P, Gabito Ballesteros and Santa Fe Klan.

Along with being the first female artist to join Double P Management, she’s also the first non-Mexican act on the roster, marking a new step for the company as it expands its roster beyond música mexicana.

“Paloma is a generational artist whose sound transcends borders,” George Prajin said in a statement. “We’re excited to partner with her and continue pushing the boundaries of Latin music.”

Known for her copper-toned vocals and her attitude-heavy delivery, Mami became an artist to watch when she broke through in 2018 with “Not Steady,” a lushly produced, urban-tinged R&B track that showcased her bilingual skills.

Soon after, Mami signed with Sony Music Latin and began releasing a handful of songs and collaborations — including “No Te Debí Besar” with C. Tangana and “QueLoQue” with Major Lazer, which peaked at No. 17 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.

In 2021, Mami officially dropped her debut album, Sueños de Dali. That same year, she received a Latin Grammy nomination for best new artist.

Her only album to date, Sueños de Dali includes co-writing credits from superstars Rosalía, El Guincho, Tainy and Edgar Barrera and is sonically wide-ranging, encompassing melodic reggaetón, R&B and electro-funk.

Most recently, Mami released “HAKiA,” which is powered by a hypnotizing reggaetón drum beat.

She is set to release a new album July 11 via Sony Music Latin.

The Mexican emerging singer-songwriter has signed with Sony Music Latin.

The música mexicana artist from Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, first gained traction on social media with songs like “Triple Lavada,” which was featured on playlists such as Apple Music’s Hits 2025 and Spotify’s Éxitos México.

His first official project under Sony Music Latin is said to feature “an explosive remix and heavyweight collaborations,” according to a press release.

“I know I have the best team to take my music to the next level and to the ears of everyone,” Ortiz said in a statement. ” I believe we will do great things together, which makes me very happy.”

Pedro Tovar Signs Worldwide Publishing Deal with Kobalt Music

The 22-year-old Mexican American lead vocalist, founding member and primary songwriter for Eslabón Armado has signed a worldwide publishing deal with Kobalt Music.

The agreement was done via Tovar’s Armado Publishing; Kobalt will administer his future songs globally.

“I’m excited to join the Kobalt Music family in this new career stage,” Tovar said in a statement. “As a songwriter, I have always sought a company that values creativity and provides the necessary support to elevate my music to a global audience. I know that with Kobalt, I’ll continue growing and sharing my stories through my songs.”

Since having a major breakthrough in 2020, the sierreño act has been on a winning streak and fueling the música mexicana (Regional Mexican) movement along the way.

Over the course of four years, Eslabon Armado released six consecutive chart-topping albums — all of which hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Albums chart. In 2022, the group made history, with Nostalgia becoming the first top 10-charting regional Mexican album ever on the Billboard 200.

A year later, Eslabon Armado released its blockbuster hit “Ella Baila Sola” with Peso Pluma. The song was a runaway success and made history when it entered the Billboard Hot 100‘s top five.

Last week, Eslabon Armado released its eight studio album, Vibras de Noche II, a follow-up to the band’s 2020 set Vibras de Noche.

Peso Pluma to Receive BMI Champion Award at This Year’s BMI Latin Awards

The 25-year-old Mexican Grammy-winning Regional Mexican singer and musician will be honored with the BMI Champion Award at the 2025 BMI Latin Awards, taking place on March 6 at the Fontainebleau Coastal Convention Center in Miami Beach.

The private event will be hosted by BMI president/CEO Mike O’Neill and BMI’s vp of creative, Latin, Jesús González.

The special accolade will honor Peso Plumas’s rapid ascent to global fame and the significant impact he has had in bringing Mexican music to the mainstream.

“Peso Pluma’s extraordinary success has not only reshaped the landscape of música mexicana but also propelled it onto the global stage,” said González, in a press release. “His innovative sound and undeniable influence have opened new doors for Latin music.”

Meanwhile, Tito Double P will be honored with the BMI Impact Award, respectively,

Peso Plumas’s quickly ascending collaborator and cousin, Tito, who has become a star in his own right, will be recognized for his contributions to Peso Plumas’s success and for establishing himself as one of the genre’s hottest new talents.

“We are excited to celebrate [Peso’s] success alongside Tito Double P, whose dedication and talent have played a key role in Peso Pluma’s journey, while also marking the beginning of his own impressive career,” adds González. “We also look forward to honoring our BMI Familia of exceptional songwriters, producers and publishers behind the most-performed Latin songs of the past year during the ceremony.”

During the event, BMI will acknowledge the songwriters and publishers of the most-performed Latin songs in the U.S. over the past year.

Awards such as the BMI regional mexican song, songwriter, and publisher of the year, as well as the BMI contemporary Latin song, songwriter, and publisher of the year, will be presented during the ceremony.

As the 2025 BMI Champion Award recipient, Peso Pluma joins a distinguished list of past honorees, including SZA, Khalid, Residente, Sebastian Krys, Inflo, Mark Ronson, Keith Urban and others.

Meanwhile, Tito Double P joins Edgar Barrera, Ice Spice, Arlo Parks, RAYE, P2J and Tems, among others, in receiving the BMI Impact Award.

Becky G Launching 14-Date 2024 Casa Gomez: Otro Capítulo Tour

Becky G is taking her home on the road again…

The 27-year-old Mexican American singer and actress will hit the road in the fall with her 2024 Casa Gomez: Otro Capítulo Tour.

Becky G will kick off her 14-date stint on October 11 at The Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom in Chicago.

She’ll visit fans in key cities such as Atlanta, Phoenix and Houston before officially wrapping up in San Diego’s Park at the Park on November 17.

The Casa Gómez: Otro Capítulo Tour is in support of Becky’s latest studio album Esquinas, where she paid tribute to her Mexican roots with an all-música Mexicana set produced by Latin Grammy winner Edgar Barrera.

On the tour — which follows her 2023 headlining debut trek Mi Casa, Tu Casa — the artist born Rebbeca Marie Gomez is expected to perform more of her Regional Mexican hits, including the Peso Pluma-assisted “Chanel,” the Ivan Cornejo-assisted “2ndo Chance,” the Oscar Maydon-assisted “Mercedes,” and the heartfelt viral hit “Por El Contrario,” to name a few.

Esquinas finds Becky G at a crossroads of two cultures, referencing the intersection between her American style with her Mexican roots.

The album became Becky’s first entry on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Albums chart after debuting No. 3 last September. It also entered Billboard‘s Latin Pop Albums chart and Latin Rhythm Albums chart and debuted at No. 7 on the overall Top Latin Albums chart.

For Casa Gómez: Otro Capítulo, Becky partnered with Save the Music Foundation and will provide $1 of all ticket sales to STM to help deliver equitable access to music education for millions of students in the United States, according to a press release.

Peso Pluma Reveals Track List for New Album “Éxodo,” Featuring All-Star Collaborators

Peso Pluma is bringing out the big guns…

The 24-year-old Mexican singer-songwriter has revealed the track list for his new album, Éxodo, a 24-song double album that features Cardi B, Anitta, Quavo, DJ Snake and other all-star collaborators.OK

Éxodo, the follow-up to Peso’ Plumas Grammy-winning debut album Génesis, is comprised of 16 songs in the same style as the música Mexicana that helped launch his career, and eight urbano (reggaeton, Latin trap etc.) songs.

Peso Pluma had a big look in in the lead-up to and after the release of his debut record, the third regional Mexican LP to hit the Top 10 (No. 3) of the Billboard 200.

The album’s release date of June 20 was revealed in a music video teaser for “La Durango” that stars Connor McGregor.

Peso Pluma recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and performed his new song “La Durango” with Eslabon Armado’s Pedro Tovar.

He’s also gearing up for a tour across North America with festival slots in New York, Chicago and Mexico.

Shakira Among Headlining Acts for This Year’s Bésame Mucho Festival in Los Angeles

The Bésame Mucho Festival has unveiled its 2024 lineup, with the 47-year-old Colombian global superstar among this year’s headlining acts.

Returning December 21 to Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles for its third year, other confirmed headliners include Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull, Los Tigres del Norte, Juanes, Banda MS, Carlos Vives, Gloria Trevi, Paulina Rubio and more.

Bésame Mucho has established itself as a popular multi-generational event thanks to the variety of artists who perform across different stages.

For its 2024 edition, Latin rock lovers will be able to enjoy acts such as Elefante, Belanova and Enanitos Verdes.

Música Mexicana fans can catch Ana Barbara, El Fantasma, Grupo Pesado and Alicia Villarreal.

The tropical junkies can dance the night away to Elvis Crespo, Bacilos and Proyecto Uno.

This will mark Shak’s second appearance at the festival.

Earlier this year, she made a surprise announcement via a video message during Grupo Frontera’s set at the first inaugural Bésame Mucho Festival in Austin, Texas, in March.

The artist used the festival grounds to tease fans with a preview of her Frontera collaboration “(Entre Paréntesis)” ahead of the release of her seventh studio album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran.

“Hola mi gente de Bésame Mucho, I leave you with my friends from Grupo Frontera and a preview of our next song ‘(Entre Paréntesis),’” Shakira said in Spanish. The group then went on to play around half a minute of the norteño track.

Carin León Announces Boca Chueca Tour 2024

The 34-year-old Mexican music star will launch his Boca Chueca Tour 2024 this fall.

The tour is set to kick off September 27 in Reading, Pa.

Promoted by AEG Presents in partnership with CMN, the trek will hit major cities across North America and Europe, including one night at the Madison Square Garden in New York City, two nights at the United Center in Chicago and his debut performance at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.

Following the North American leg, the Sonora-born artist will head to Europe, with confirmed dates in Madrid, London, Amsterdam and Paris.

“Embarking on this tour is an exhilarating opportunity to share my new music with fans throughout North America and Europe alike,” the “Primera Cita” singer said in a statement. “Taking my songs and the vibrant essence of Música Mexicana to a global stage is truly an honor.”

Since launching his solo career in 2018, León has established himself as one of Mexican music’s most versatile and eclectic artists today.

His country-tinged, soulful regional Mexican sound has also played a big role in globalizing música mexicana.

The Boca Chueca tour announcement comes on the heels of León’s debut at Coachella, where he gave a riveting performance that included surprise guests such as Mau y Ricky and Molotov. He’s set to make his debut at Stagecoach Festival on Friday, April 26. He’ll also be the opening act for The Rolling Stones show in Glendale, Calif., on May 7 at State Farm Stadium.

Luis R. Conriquez Releases New Album “Corridos Bélicos, Vol. IV”

The 27-year-old Mexican singer-songwriter of Regional Mexican music and pioneer of corridos bélicos has assembled an all-star team of collaborators for Corridos Bélicos, Vol. IV, which was released on Friday, January 5.

With guest artists like Peso Pluma, Gerardo Ortiz, El Fantasma, Junior H, Gabito Ballesteros, Edén Muñoz, Fuerza Regida, Alfredo Olivas and Natanael Cano, Conriquez recruits some of the best in música mexicana, and honors both the new and old generations of regional Mexican hitmakers.

The set includes a total of 23 songs all powered by the subgenre’s signature sound, punctuated by sierreño guitars, trombones, trumpets and a tololoche.

Most of the album’s songs narrate rags-to-riches stories with lyrics inspired by narco culture, the style of storytelling that has defined corridos bélicos.

Conriquez’s Corridos Bélicos, Vol. IV rings in the year with a tour de force that showcases solidarity in Mexican music — the genre had a massive 2023 and this year looks just as promising.

Peso Pluma Tops YouTube’s List of Top 5 Most-Viewed Artists in the U.S. in 2023

YouTube has unveiled its Top 5 Most-Viewed Artists in the United States in 2023, with the 24-year-old Mexican Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter leading the pack.

The música Mexicana (Regional Mexican) phenomenon comes in at No. 1 for the first time on the coveted list due to fans connecting through his live performance at Coachella, for example.

The artist born Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija had more than 8.5 billion views throughout the year, according to a press release from the platform.

The massive success that songs such as Yng Lvcas’ “La Bebe (Remix),” “Ella Baila Sola” with Eslabon Armado, the Karol G-assisted “QLONA,” “Lady Gaga” in collaboration with Gabito Ballesteros and Junior H, and “Rubicon” had in 2023 ultimately made La Doble P the No. 1 most played artist on YouTube in the U.S. this year.

He’s followed by YoungBoy Never Broke Again at No. 2, Drake at No. 3, Bad Bunny at No. 4, and Taylor Swift at No. 5.

Peso Puma, who hails from Zapopan, also scored two songs on YouTube’s Top 10 Songs of the Year list with “Ella Baila Sola” at No.3 and “La Bebe (Remix)” at No. 4.

The former also wrapped the year at No. 1 on the Billboard year-end Hot Latin Songs chart. Penned by Pedro Tovar about a man drawn by a woman’s beauty, “Ella Baila Sola” made history as the first regional Mexican song to dominate the Billboard Global 200 chart, where it led for six consecutive weeks.

Additionally, Pluma topped Billboard’s Top 5 New Latin Artists of 2023 list and was No. 2 on the Top Latin Artist of 2023 list, following Bad Bunny.
