YouTube has released the official list of the new Latin videos that have reached the billion views, with the 40-year-old Puerto Rican singer-songwriter’s collaboration with Demi Lovato making the grade.

In 2018, nineteen Latin videos have joined the elite club, including Fonsi’s clip for his single with the 26-year-old half-Mexican American singer/actress, “Échame La Culpa.”

It all started when “Bailando” by Enrique Iglesias featuring Gente de Zona and Descemer Bueno reached the coveted figure in 2015.

Then, in 2016, four new videos joined the list: Shakira‘s “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),” Romeo Santos with “Propuesta Indecente,” “Ay Vamos” by J Balvin and Jennifer Lopez with “On The Floor” featuring Pitbull.

In 2017, everything changed. After the overwhelming success of Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” clip — currently the most-viewed video  with 5.7 billion views — 17 more videos (including “Despacito”) earned access to the famous list. Among those videos are “El Amante” by Nicky Jam, J Balvin‘s “Mi Gente” with Willy William, Daddy Yankee’s “Shaky, Shaky,” Maluma‘s “Felices Los 4,” and his collaboration with Shakira, “Chantaje,” among others.

And now in 2018, 19 other videos have joined the prestigious club, including “El Farsante” by Ozuna with Romeo Santos; Becky G and Bad Bunny’s “Mayores;” and Manuel Turizo with “Una Lady Como Tu.”

Interestingly, two of the billion-view members are official audio clips: Camilla Cabello’s “Havana” and Danny Ocean’s “Me Rehúso.”

Bad Bunny Releases New Single “Mia” Featuring Drake

Bad Bunny is joining voices with the Champagne Papi

The 24-year-old Puerto Rican Latin trap and reggaeton singer has released his latest single “Mia,” his collaboration with Drake.

Bad Bunny & Drake

In the single, Drake trades in his traditional rapping verse for a singing Spanish verse, while Bad Bunny matches his joyous flavor and supplies a robust verse.

The video finds Drake and Bad Bunny kicking it at a block party, playing dominoes, dancing, and of course, having a good time. With a sea of bodacious women floating through the party, this kickback is definitely the hot spot for Drake and Bad Bunny to unleash their addicting earworm.

You may recall Drake flexed his fluid Spanish-speaking abilities during his 2014 collaboration with Romeo Santos titled “Odio.” For Bad Bunny, he’s coming off an impressive outing at the 2018 American Music Awards, where he delivered an electric performance with Cardi Bfor “I Like It.”

Hard Rock Punta Cana Unveils the Kings Villa in Honor of Romeo Santos

It’s the suite life for Romeo Santos

The executives of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana have formally honored the 37-year-old Puerto Rican and Dominican American bachatasuperstar by opening the “Kings Villa,” a luxurious beach residence in the style of the “King of Bachata.”

Romeo Santos

The vacation villa, which is available to the public, is decorated with a vast number of iconic pieces from the artist.

“We came to the conclusion that the ideal artist for a project like this was Romeo,” said Saymon Díaz, Santos promoter, on the idea that emerged in 2016 after the superstar gave a memorable performance at the Hard Rock Punta Cana.

Romeo Santos Kings Villa Hard Rock Punta Cana

The Kings Villa was designed by Dominican artist, Miguel Fernández, and is located in one of the most intimate areas of the hotel. The three room complex has two master suites and one guest suite, terraces with a pool, bar, three hot tubs, a spa area, dining room and a living room with views of the ocean. Everything, of course, is inspired by Santos’ style.

“This is another opportunity for our guests to feel closer to their idol,” said Rodrigo Chapur, hotel executive.

Santos, who starts the second leg of his Golden Tour on September 13, said he feels grateful to everyone involved for allowing him to participate in the whole process and have it be distinguished with such magnitude.

Ozuna’s “Odiesa” Registers Largest Streaming Week Ever for a Latin Release

There’s absolutely no sophomore slump for Ozuna

The 26-year-old Puerto Rican reggaeton and Latin trap singer’s second studio album, Aura, has scored 2018’s biggest week for a Latin album, and the largest streaming week ever for a Latin release.

Ozuna

Ozuna’s album, released on August 24 via VP Entertainment/DimeloVi/Sony Music Latin, earned 49,000 equivalent album units in the week ending August 30, according to Nielsen Music— largely driven by streaming activity. Of that sum, 7,000 were in traditional album sales. Aura arrives with 55.34 million on-demand audio streams earned for its songs in its debut tracking frame.

Aura arrives at No. 7 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart and makes for Ozuna’s first top 10. It also gives Ozuna his second No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums chart, where it bumps his first album (and first chart-topper), Odisea, from No. 1 to No. 2.

Odisea falls to No. 2 in its 53rd week on the list. It has been No. 1 on the list for 46 nonconsecutive weeks, the second-most weeks atop the chart in its 25-year history. (Only Gloria Estefan’s Mi Tierra has more, with 58 weeks leading the list.)

Additionally, Ozuna is the first act to replace itself at No. 1 since March 16, 2013, when Jenni Rivera, who died the previous December, took over for herself at No. 1. Her Joyas Prestadas: Pop replaced her own La Misma Gran Senora at No. 1.

Ozuna is also the first act to concurrently rank at Nos. 1 and 2 on the chart in a year-and-a-half. It last occurred when Juan Gabriel was Nos. 1, 2 and 3 on the January 28, 2017-dated chart with Los Duo 2Mis Rancheras Queridas and Hoy Manana y Siempre, respectively. Gabriel died the previous August.

Aura is the highest-charting Latin album on the all-genre Billboard 200 since Romeo Santos’ Formula: Vol. 2 debuted and peaked at No. 5 on the March 15, 2014-dated list (from 85,000 copies sold, back before the list transitioned to an equivalent album units-ranked tally).

The Billboard 200 ranks the week’s most popular albums in the U.S. across all genres of music, while the Top Latin Albums chart ranks the week’s biggest albums within the Latin genre. Both charts rank titles based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units are comprised of traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

Ozuna Earns 14th Top 10 on Billboard’s Latin Rhythm Airplay Chart with “Unica”

Make that 14 for Ozuna

The 26-year-old Puerto Rican reggaeton and Latin trap singer has notched his 14th top 10 on Billboard’s Latin Rhythm Airplay chart as “Unica,” the latest single from his second full-length forthcoming album Aura, moves 12-10.

Ozuna

The track rises with a 22 percent jump in audience impressions to 9.5 million in its tenth frame.

As “Unica” ascends, Ozuna claims a trio of songs on the list’s Top 10. After its former No. 1 rank, Reik’s “Me Niego” featuring Ozuna and Wisin stands steady at No. 3 for its third consecutive week, and “Te Boté” (by Casper Magico, Nio Garcia, Darell, Nicky Jam, Ozuna and Bad Bunny) places at No. 8. Further, Ozuna has two more hits on the chart:

El Farsante” with Romeo Santos (No. 14) and his featured turn on Wisin’s “Quisiera Alejarme” (No. 16).

J Balvin’s New Album “Vibras” Makes History on Apple Music

J Balvin is making history…

The 33-year-old Colombian reggaeton singer’s new album Vibras has racked up the most first-week global streams for a Latin album ever on Apple Music, replacing week one of Romeo Santos‘ 2017 project Golden.

J Balvin

Vibras also claims the record for the most-streamed Latin album in 24 hours on Apple Music so far in 2018.

On the Billboard charts, the album notched the biggest week of 2018 for a Latin album so far with its No. 1 debut on the Top Latin Albums chart and No. 15 bow on the Billboard 200. The week of its release, Vibras was highlighted as one of the best albums of the week in Billboard’s Viva Friday article, which is a compilation of new songs, albums and videos recommended by the Billboard Latin editors.

“I just want to make music for the world,” the Colombian singer told Beats 1’s Ebro Darden before he released the album.

Romeo Santos Earns 11th No. 1 on Billboard’s Tropical Songs Chart with “Bella y Sensual”

It’s Lucky No. 11 for Romeo Santos

The 36-year-old Puerto Rican and Dominican American singer-songwriter has earned his 11th No. 1 on Billboard’s Tropical Songs with “Bella y Sensual,” featuring Nicky Jam and Daddy Yankee.

Romeo Santos

The song ascends 2-1 in its 16th week frame — despite a 9 percent decline in audience at the format (8.8 million impressions in the week ending December 17, down 881,000). The song still receives a bullet, despite a decline, as titles in their first week at No. 1 on any chart always receive a bullet.

The song is Santos’ third chart-topper in 2017, following “Imitadora,” which reigned for 10 weeks, and “Heroe Favorito,” which spent eight weeks in the penthouse.

It’s also the fourth career No. 1 for Nicky Jam, and the fifth for Daddy Yankee on the chart.

The song also holds at No. 7 on the Hot Latin Songs chart for a second week. It’s the singer’s 15th top 10 hit on the list.
