Gloria Estefan to Perform at the Latin Grammy Awards Show

The Latin Recording Academy has announced additional performers set to take the stage for the 22nd annual Latin Grammy Awards on November 18 in Las Vegas, with the 64-year-old Cuban singer and four-time Latin Grammy winner among those on the list.

Gloria EstefanMaking her return to the Latin Grammys stage after more than a decade, Estefan — accompanied by AnittaCarlinhos Brown, Laércio da Costa, Pedro CapóFarina, Giulia Be and Diego Torres — will open the Latin Grammys with a three-song medley, including her iconic song “Abriendo Puertas,” along with “Cuando Hay Amor” and “Magalenha.”

Additionally, Ángela AguilarPepe Aguilar, María BecerraEladio Carrión, Silvestre Dangond, EmmanuelJoss Favela, Evaluna MontanerRicardo Montaner, Fito PáezResidente, Sofía Reyes, among others, have joined the broadcast as presenters.

The new group of artists join previously announced performers Mon Laferte, Grupo Firme, Bad Bunny, Banda El Recodo de Cruz Lizárraga, Rubén Blades, C. Tangana, Calibre 50, Los Dos Carnales, Alejandro Fernández, Juanes, Maná, Ozuna, Danna Paola and Myke Towers, among others.

Five-time nominee C. Tangana is set to perform alongside Antonio Carmona, Diego del Morao, Jorge Drexler, Israel Fernández, La Húngara, Natalia Lafourcade and Omar Apollo. Meanwhile, Juanes will perform a new arrangement of Juan Gabriel’s iconic “No Tengo Dinero,” alongside Rubén Albarrán and Meme del Real of Café Tacvba.

With the theme “rediscovering life through music,” the three-hour show will air live on Univision at 8:00 p.m. ET, preceded by a one-hour pre-show starting at 7:00 p.m. ET.

The telecast, live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena, will “invite audiences to rediscover what’s important in life using music as a storyline,” according to a statement from the Latin Recording Academy.

Camilo leads the 2021 Latin Grammys nominees with 10 nods, including nominations in the album, record, and song of the year categories. He’s followed by tropical music icon Juan Luis Guerra with six, Spanish rapper Tangana with five nominations, and multiple artists, including Bad Bunny, with four.

Estefan is nominated this year for Best Contemporary Tropical Album for her samba-flavored album Brazil305.

Silvestre Dangond Releases New Single “Las Locuras Mias”

With his emblematic sound and vocals, the 40-year-old Colombian singer has released the new single “Las Locuras Mias.”

The captivating track, produced by Silvestre alongside Beto Urieles and Roland Valbuena, Jr., and featuring Lucas Dangond on the accordion, is an ode to that special someone who loves you unconditionally and accepts you just the way you are.

“It’s been some time since I had sung and felt a vallenato song that was meant for falling in love!” Dangond expressed. “What’s more, it reminds me of when I released ‘Mi Amor por Ella’ because it has a vintage sound that takes me back to the early days of my career.”

“Las Locuras Mias” marks the title track of Dangond’s upcoming 14th studio album.

Prince Royce Replaces Himself at No. 1 on Billboard’s Tropical Airplay Chart

The 31-year-old Dominican American bachata singer has replaced himself at No. 1 on the Tropical Airplay chart.

On the October 24-dated survey, his latest single “Lotería” climbs 2-1, bumping his own “Carita de Inocente” down 1-2.

“Carita de Inocente” had earlier set the record for the most weeks at No. 1, and its total weeks atop the list now stand at 29.

“It feels great to have the top two Tropical Airplay songs in the country and I’m so thankful to everyone at radio and the fans who keep embracing my music and bachata,” Royce tells Billboard.

The last time an artist ranked first and second in the same chart week was Marc Anthony with “Lo Que Te Di” at No. 1 and “Parecen Viernes” at No. 2 (January 25-dated lists).

The last act, however, to replace himself at No. 1 was Nicky Jam in January 2018. Romeo Santos’ “Bella y Sensual,” which features Jam and Daddy Yankee, ceded its five-week reign to “Cásate Conmigo,” his collaboration with Silvestre Dangond (Jan. 27, 2018-dated list).

“Lotería” leads the list dated October 24, advancing from the runner-up position, thanks to a 34% gain in audience impressions, to 4 million, earned in the week ending October 18, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

The tune helps the bachata singer-songwriter up his career No. 1 count to 19, extending his third-most record in the chart’s 26-year history. Royce stands just behind Marc Anthony with 32 No. 1s and Victor Manuelle with 28.)

“Lotería” is from Royce’s Alter Ego album, which debuted at No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums chart (dated February 22). The tune was produced by Royce alongside D’lesly “Dice” Lora and written by Royce, Lora, Yonathan “Mickey” Then and Ronald “Dae” López.

Over on Latin Airplay, “Lotería” enters the top 25, hiking 34-24.

Anitta to Perform at This Year’s Premio Lo Nuestro Awards Show

The 25-year-old Brazilian singer, a four-time nominee in 2019, is set to perform at this year’s Premio Lo Nuestro awards show.

Ozuna to Conduct First-Ever World/U.S. Tour

The 24-year-old Puerto Rican singer/songwriter, a rising Latin trap star, will conduct in his first-ever world/U.S. tour.

The chart-topping artist’s Odisea World Tour will kick off the North American-leg of the trek May 26 in Atlanta, Georgia and will be making stops in other major cities including Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles and New York.

The 38-year-old Puerto Rican rapper/singer, whose real name is Juan Luis Morera Luna, will appear at this year’s Billboard Latin Music Conference.

Wisin will take part in the panel discussion “Pop + Urban = The Perfect Marriage” alongside Mexican pop trio Reik, trap rising sensation Ozuna, Colombian vallenato singer Silvestre Dangond and ChocQuibTown‘s Tostao.

The discussion, focused on urban/reggaetón/pop fusions dominating the Billboard charts, will be moderated by iHeart Radio‘s Enrique Santos.

The Pop + Urban panel will take place April 25 at the Ritz Carlton in Miami Beach.

Other superstar-packed panels to be held at the conference include Socializing Maluma, Iconic Singer/Songwriter Q&A with Residente, and the Legends Q&A featuring Miguel Bosé.

The Billboard Latin Music Awards are the culmination of the Billboard Latin Music Conference, taking place April 24-27 at the Ritz Carlton Miami Beach.

Dangond to Perform at SBS’ LaMúsica’s First-Ever Aplauso Concert Series

The 36-year-old Colombian Vallenato singer is set to headline SBSLaMúsica‘s first edition of their concert series, titled Aplauso.

Dangond joins an all-star lineup that includes Reik, Juanes, Marco Antonio Solís, Ricardo Montaner and Jencarlos.

The event will take place at Miami’s iconic American Airlines Arena on December 9, and will be presented by LaMúsica, Zeta 92.3 and Felix Cabrera Productions.

“For SBS Miami, it is an honor to present ‘Aplauso 2016’ with your favorite artists of our time,” Jesús Salas, EVP of Programming and Multi Platform Coordinator at SBS Radio, said in a statement. “SBS Miami is very clear in its objective, we always provide the most innovative entertainment for the enjoyment of our Latino community. News of the launch comes a week after LaMúsica and Mega 97.9 announced the star-studded lineup for their upcoming Mega Bash concert taking place in New Jersey on Dec. 2.

Juanes, Dangond and Jencarlos will also be performing at the Mega Bash, along with Latin stars like Ricky Martin, Wisin and Enrique Iglesias.

Martin to Perform at This Year’s Mega Bash Concert

The 44-year-old Puerto Rican singer is among the Latin superstars confirmed to perform at this year’s Mega Bash concert in New Jersey.

Martin joins a lineup that includes JuanesEnrique Iglesias, WisinJencarlos CanelaSilvestre Dangond and Ozuna.

The show, produced by the Felix Cabrera Concert Series and SBS — home to New York’s top-rated Spanish language station Mega 97.9 and bilingual streaming app La Música — is set to take place on December 2, at the Prudential Center in Newark.

“Our goal has always been to produce events without precedents, and on December 2 we will be reuniting these big figures for the first time ever at the Prudential Center,” said Felix Cabrera in a statement.

“It’s our pleasure to bring the Mega Bash production to New Jersey with the best music and technology for concerts. That way, our loyal Mega 97.9 listeners can enjoy a good quality concert,” added Eric Garcia, SBS’ Radio Revenue Chief & New York General Manager.

Dangond Signs with WK Entertainment

Silvestre Dangond is ready to expand his global status…

The 36-year-old Colombian vallenato singer and four-time Latin Grammy-nominee has signed a deal with management company WK Entertainment to helm and expand his career in the United States and Latin America.

“I believe in God and that the sincere desires of the heart and dreams are fulfilled. I know this team will fight for me, that they will help me reach another level,” said Dangond in a statement. “Every day a new “silvestrista” is born, I want to get where they are. It will be very exciting for the “silvestristas” of Colombia see international “silvestristas” infected with my music around the world.”

The management company’s CEO Walter Kolm and Dangond’s longtime manager Carlos Bloom will co-manage Dangond’s career.

“This new alliance we formed will undoubtedly contribute to strengthening Silvestre internationally. We celebrate this event and hope that it will serve as an example for future work of the new generations,” said Bloom.

WK Entertainment currently manages Colombian superstars Carlos Vives and Maluma.

Fifth Harmony to Perform at This Year’s Latin Grammy Awards Show

Ally Brooke Hernandez, Camila Cabello and Lauren Jauregui are ready to make their Latin Grammys debut.

The Latina singers and their fellow Fifth Harmony members have been added to the performance lineup for this year’s awards show.

No word on what song the all-girl group, named to this year’s Billboard 21 Under 21 list, will perform, but the ladies did release a Spanish version of their hit single “Worth It.” Entitled “(Worth It) Dame Esta Noche,” was released earlier this summer.

In addition to Fifth Harmony, the Latin Recording Academy has booked OMIRicky MartinEspinoza PazMaluma and Banda el Recodo to take the stage at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas on November 19 for Latin music’s biggest night.

Six-time Grammy winners Banda El Recodo, Latin urban phenom Maluma and regional Mexican star  Paz each received one nomination this year — best banda album for Mi Vicio Más Grande, best urban performance for “El Tiki,” and best regional song for “Perdí La Pose,” respectively.

 

Pop idol Martin is also among this year’s nominees, having scored three nods: record of the year and song of the year for “Disparo Al Corazón” and best contemporary pop vocal album for A Quien Quiera Escuchar.
