Christina Aguilera to Serve as Presenter at This Year’s Grammy Awards Show

Christina Aguilera has a date with Grammy…

The half-Ecuadorian American Grammy-wining singer will serve as a presenter at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

Aguilera appears on a list of presenters that includes Samara Joy, Lenny Kravitz, Maluma, Lionel Richie, Mark Ronson, Meryl Streep, Taylor Tomlinson and Oprah Winfrey are set to present on the 2024 Grammy Awards, set for Sunday, Feb. 4.

Joy was the surprise winner of last year’s award for best new artist. Aguilera won in that same category 24 years ago.

Ronson, a seven-time Grammy-winner, received five nominations this year for his work on Barbie.

Richie won album of the year 39 years ago for Can’t Slow Down. He won song of the year the year after that for “We Are the World,” which he co-wrote with Michael Jackson.

Streep is nominated for best audio book, narration and storytelling recording for Big Tree. This is her seventh nomination. Streep has won three Oscars and three Primetime Emmys, but she has yet to win a Grammy (or a Tony).

Maluma received his third Grammy nod this year – best Latin pop album for Don Juan.

Additional performers will be announced in the coming days.

It’s unknown whether Taylor Swift will perform, though CBS has promoted the fact that she will be “in the building” to accept any awards she may win.

U2 is set to take the stage from Sphere in Las Vegas, where the band’s acclaimed U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere show is playing.

Trevor Noah will host the Grammys for the fourth consecutive year.

The 66th annual Grammy Awards will be held on Sunday, February 4, live on both coasts beginning at 8:00 pm ET on CBS, and will stream live and on-demand on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the special airs).

The telecast will be produced by Fulwell 73 Productions for the Recording Academy for the fourth consecutive year. Ben Winston, Raj Kapoor and Jesse Collins are executive producers.

RBD Earns Highest Grossing Touring Act Honors for November

RBD is celebrating a November to remember…

After two months at No. 2, the reunited Mexican Latin group takes the helm as the highest grossing touring act of November.

The group’s Soy Rebelde Tour grossed $71.1 million and sold 734,000 tickets from November 3 to 30, per Billboard Boxscore figures. The tour is the act’s first trek since 2008’s Tour del Adios.

Current through November 30, the Soy Rebelde Tour has grossed $197.1 million since launching in August. About half a million dollars shy of Daddy Yankee’s 2022 farewell tour, RBD’s reunion will become the second-highest grossing tour by a Latin act once its December shows are reported, behind Bad Bunny‘s World’s Hottest Tour.

RBD’s monthly crown is due to hustle. Other than Trans-Siberian Orchestra, the perennial holiday favorite that includes two touring ensembles for either coast of the U.S., RBD played more shows in November than any act among the top 30. With 17 shows split between seven markets, the group earned its spot atop the heap by playing hard.

After sitting at No. 2 behind Beyoncé and Pink in September and October, respectively, RBD levels up, and its routing has much to do with it. Not only did the group play more shows than in either of the previous months, but after touring the U.S., RBD took on Latin America in November, transitioning to a primarily Spanish-language audience.

That move allowed RBD to move from arenas to stadiums, multiplying its nightly audience by more than two. In the U.S., the group paced about 18,000 tickets per night before rocketing to more than 43,000 each show in Colombia, Brazil and Mexico.

But the ticket pricing economy is much different in these geographical regions, and RBD’s average ticket price went from $241.30 in the U.S. to $96.81 in Latin America.

In all, its average gross stayed almost the same, even dipping by 4%. But the pure volume of seats that RBD could sell made up the difference, giving RBD its first monthly win yet.

At No. 1 for November, RBD is only the third Latin act to lead the monthly Top Tours chart. Los Bukis first broke ground in September 2021, and Bad Bunny pushed the boundaries further, ruling in February, March, August and September of 2022. Aventura, Daddy Yankee, Maluma and Rauw Alejandro have also hit the top five.

That means that RBD is the source for the genre’s first female artists to hit the top tier. The mixed-gender group’s reunion features original members Anahi, Dulce Maria and Maite Perroni, all hailing from Mexico. Beyond Latin music, they continue a hot streak for women atop the chart: after a nearly four-year drought, Beyoncé, Pink and RBD have kept women at No. 1 for six of the last seven months.

Beyond the No. 1 act, Pink and Madonna add support at Nos. 3 and 5, respectively. Mariah Carey, Shania Twain, Ms. Lauryn Hill and in her monthly Boxscore debut, Doja Cat, follow. While a grand total of seven women acts in the top 30 doesn’t give them a majority, the 23.3% gender split is up from the 2023 year-end wrap, where women’s representation doubled from the previous year.

Four of RBD’s seven stops in November crack the 30-position Top Boxscores chart. Four shows at Allianz Parque in Sao Paulo, Brazil (Nov. 16-19) earned $17.4 million and sold 191,000 tickets, while another four at Estadio Antanasio Girardot (Medellin, Colombia; Nov. 3-6) took in $17.2 million from 150,000 tickets.

In Sao Paulo, RBD played another two shows at Estadio do Morumbi on Nov. 12-13, grossing $11 million. If the group had consolidated their Sao Paulo run at one venue, the combined gross would’ve given them the No. 1 spot with more than $28 million.

Bad Bunny Earns 28th Top 10 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay Chart with “Mónaco”

Bad Bunny has another Top 10 on his hands…

The 29-year-old Puerto Rican Grammy-winning superstar has picked up his 28th top 10 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart as “Mónaco” pushes 16-4 on the list dated December 23.

“Mónaco” takes the Greatest Gainer honor of the week with a 46% gain in audience impressions, to 7.42 million, earned in the U.S. during the December 8-14 tracking week, according to Luminate.

The song is the third single from Bad Bunny’s eight-week No. 1 on Top Latin Albums set Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana to enter the top 10 on Latin Airplay.

Previously “Where She Goes” and “Un Preview” sat at No. 1 for one week each in August and December, respectively. Further, one other song from the 23-track set arrives on the overall radio chart this week, “Perro Negro” with Feid, at No. 46, for Bad Bunny’s 47th overall entry

As “Mónaco” rises to the upper region on Latin Airplay, Bad Bunny ties with Maluma and Wisin & Yandel for the fourth-most top 10s among Latin rhythmic acts since the tally’s inception in 1994, behind the overall record holder Daddy Yankee with 48 top 10s, J Balvin with 41, and Ozuna with 38.

Beyond its new radio boost, “Mónaco” reaches other heights across the charts: No. 1 on the multimetric Hot Latin Songs tally, where it sat for eight weeks at No. 1; it enjoyed a six-week domination on Latin Streaming Songs; and a No. 2 high on the overall Streaming Songs list, all starting the October 28-dated rankings. Plus, it peaks at No. 2 on the current Latin Rhythm Airplay chart.

Yovanna Ventura Signs with Vision Entertainment

Yovanna Ventura has a new vision…

Vision Entertainment has signed the 28-year-old Dominican actress, model, musician, entrepreneur and internet celebrity.

Ventura, whose credits include Tales (BET) and mini-series The New Edition Story, has amassed 11 million followers across social platforms.

She has appeared on screen alongside singers Maluma and Tyga.

Ventura continues to be repped by her manager Louie Diaz of Social Adam LLC alongside Vision Entertainment point managers John Alcaraz (Los Angeles), Julia Watkinson (New York), and Ximena Bustani (Mexico City).

“Given Yovanna’s multi-cultural background and multi-hyphenatedT talent, we are uniquely positioned to provide a 360 level of representation for her. Maluma Makes Billboard Chart History as His Carin Leon-Collab “Según Quien” Tops Two Latin Charts

Maluma is back at the top of the charts… And, he’s making history in the process.

The 29-year-old Colombian singer and Carin Leon’s single “Según Quien” has advanced 3-1 to lead Billboard’s December 16-dated Latin Airplay chart.

The move gives Maluma his 24th champ, while León captures his second.

“Según Quien” crowns the all-genre airplay chart with a 50% gain in audience impressions, to 13.2 million, earned in the U.S. in the week ending December 7, according to Luminate.

The song is one of 24 tracks from Maluma’s Grammy-nominated Don Juan album, which debuted at No. 11 on the Top Latin Albums chart last September.

In addition to its first week at No. 1 on Latin Airplay, “Según Quien” also lands at the summit on Regional Mexican Airplay (rising 11-1) for its first week in charge, and gives León his fifth leader there. He previously reached No. 1 with the three-week champ “Indispensable,” his first ruler with no accompanying acts, last August. Maluma claims his second, after “Cada Quien” in 2022.

Notably, as the Maluma-León partnership takes over both tallies, Maluma becomes the first urban artist to lead the rankings simultaneously since Latin Airplay and Regional Mexican Airplay launched in 1994.

Only two other urban artists have reached the penthouse on Regional Mexican Airplay: Cazzu and Santa Fe Klan, through their equally billed collab “Tú y Tú,” with Los Ángeles Azules, in May; the song peaked at No. 5 on Latin Airplay during the same period.

Further, “Según Quien” becomes the fifth champ by two co-billed male soloists on Latin Airplay out of the 33 No. 1s in 2023. They include:

Bad Bunny Earns 23rd No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay Chart with “Un Preview”

Bad Bunny is ruling the roost yet again…

A week after crowning multiple Billboard year-end charts, the 29-year-old Puerto Rican Grammy-winning superstar has added a new chart achievement to his roster as “Un Preview” ascends 2-1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay ranking dated December 2.

The song’s new coronation follows its command on the Latin Rhythm Airplay chart, for a third week in charge.

“Un Preview” rises to the summit on Latin Airplay with 10.3 million audience impressions earned in the U.S. during the November 17-23 tracking week, according to Luminate.

That’s a 14% gain from the week prior, which sends Myke Towers’ “LaLa” to No. 6, after two weeks atop, with 16% dip, to 7.8 million impressions.

As “Un Preview” takes the lead, Bad Bunny earns his 23rd champ, thus tying with Maluma for the fifth-most No. 1s overall, since Latin Airplay began in 1994.

As the Top Latin Artist of 2023 “previews” a new No. 1, here’s the list of all artists with as many or more:

Jennifer Lopez Promises a Musical Experience in Teaser Clip for “This Is Me… Now” Album

Jennifer Lopez is promising a musical experience like no other…

The 54-year-old Puerto Rican superstar has released a teaser clip packed with tons of visuals to further build anticipation for her upcoming ninth album, This Is Me… Now.

The 18-second teaser opens with the words “Hear It, See It, Live It” before transitioning to stunning shots of her dancing in the rain, twirling in a factory, a motorcycle racing through water and more.

“This musical experience is a manifestation through music, film, and reality, of life’s journey on the search for truth about love,” reads a message at the end of the clip, along with a link to onthejlo.com.

A larger announcement about This Is Me… Now is expected to arrive on Monday, according to Lopez’s social media accounts and website.

This Is Me… Now is the follow-up to the superstar’s similarly titled 2003 album, This Is Me… Then, which was dedicated to her partner at the time, Ben Affleck.

The two were engaged in 2002 before parting ways in early 2004. The pair rekindled their romance in 2022 and married soon after. Lopez has confirmed that This Is Me… Now is also inspired by Affleck and their stronger-than-ever relationship.

The forthcoming set, which does not yet have an official release date, marks Lopez’s first solo album since 2014’s A.K.A., which peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 chart.

In 2022, she teamed up with Maluma for the soundtrack of their Marry Me film.

Ice Spice Earns Four Grammy Award Nominations, Including Best New Artist Nod

Ice Spice is celebrating her first-ever Grammy nominations…

The 23-year-old half-Dominican American rapper/singer-songwriter has earned four Grammy Award nods, including one for the coveted Best New Artist award.

Ice Spice, the most nominated Latinx artist this year, is up for Best Rap Song and Best Song Written for Visual Media for her Barbie collaboration with Nicki Minaj featuring Aqua, “Barbie World,” which appears on Barbie The Album.

Her fourth nod comes in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for the remix to Taylor Swift’s “Karma.”

Robert Trujillo is up for three Grammys.

The 59-year-old half-Mexican American musician and his Metallica band mates are up for Best Rock Performance for “Lux Æterna,” Best Metal Performance for “72 Seasons” and Best Rock Album for 72 Seasons.

Adrian Quesada and the 46-year-old Mexican American musician, producer and songwriter’s Black Pumas group mate, Eric Burton, have earned a nod in the Best Rock Performance for their single “More Than a Love Song.”

Mexican American Latin Grammy darling Edgar Barrera is nominated for Songwriter of the Year, Non-Classical. He’s the first Latino songwriter to earn a nod in the category, which was launched at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards.

Peso Pluma, who was snubbed for Best New Artist, earned his first Grammy nod. The 24-year-old Mexican Regional Mexican Artist earned the nod in the Best Musica Mexicana Album (including Tejano) for Genesis.

Kirstin Maldonado and her Pentatonix a capella group mates, three-time Grammy winners, have earned a nod in the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album category for their album Holidays Around the World.

Esperanza Spalding, who previously beat out Justin Bieber for Best New Artist, has earned a nod in the Best Jazz Performance category alongside Fred Hersch for “But Not for Me.”

Other Latinx nominees include Vince Mendoza, Pablo Alborán, Maluma, Pedro Capó, Karol G, Juanes and Lila Downs.

The ceremony takes place on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena, and will broadcast on CBS and Paramount+. The annual Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony precedes the event.

The “Felices Los 4” singer joins a roster of recently added performers that includes Milo J, Rosalia, Shakira, Sebastian Yatra, Andrea Bocelli and DJ Premier.

They’ll perform at the upcoming ceremony, which will broadcast from FIBES in Seville, Spain, on Thursday, November 16.

The newly announced artists join previously unveiled performers, including Maria Becerra, Bizarrap, Feid, Kany García, Carin León, Christian Nodal, Rauw Alejandro, Alejandro Sanz, Pablo Alborán, Edgar Barrera, Camilo, Manuel Carrasco, Iza, Juanes, Ozuna, Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma.

Additionally, Majo Aguilar, Anitta, Pedro Capó, Jorge Drexler, Luis Figueroa, Fonseca, Tiago Iorc, Mon Laferte, Natalia Lafourcade, John Leguizamo, Nicki Nicole, Carlos Ponce, Carlos Vives and Yandel join as presenters throughout the ceremony.

For the first time held outside the United States, the annual Latin Grammys will be broadcast from the Conference and Exhibition Centre in Seville, Spain. It will air November 16 on Univision starting at 8:00 pm ET, UniMás and Galavisión in the U.S., and at 10:30 pm CET on Radiotelevisión Española (RTVE) in Spain.

Danna Paola, Yatra, Roselyn Sánchez and Paz Vega will serve as co-hosts.

This year, Mexican hitmaker Edgar Barrera leads the list of nominees with 13 nods, including songwriter of the year, producer of the year and song of the year. Barrera is followed by Colombian stars Camilo, Karol G, Shakira and composer Kevyn Mauricio Cruz (also known as Keityn), each with seven nominations.

Maluma Performs NPR Tiny Desk Concert, Confirms He’ll Soon Be a Dad

Maluma is celebrating a tiny moment…

The 29-year-old Colombian singer is the latest artist to visit the NPR Tiny Desk for a concert full of his hits and even a tease of his girlfriend’s recent pregnancy announcement.

Maluma performed songs ranging from “Hawái” and “COCO LOCO” to “Felices los 4” and “Según Quién.” Before singing “ADMV,” Maluma shared that he wrote the song for a cryptic “someone,” and immediately began tearing up.

Maluma revealed that he and his girlfriend, Susana Gomez, are expecting their first child together via a new music video on Friday, October 20.

Titled “Procura,” the song’s clip documents the couple’s relationship with never-before-seen clips, the heartfelt moment they found out they were going to be parents and the lavish sex reveal, when they found out they will be having a girl. The couple also revealed she will be named Paris.

“Music is the only way I can talk to my fans and I wanted to let them know that I’m having a baby,” he said in an interview with NPR Music‘s Alt.Latino. “It’s perfect timing with all of the things that I’m living. I’m looking for more personal experiences too […] I also want to grow as a human being, not only as an artist. This makes me feel so human, but at the same time, the more human I feel, the more artist I get.”
